@02111992ish Filipinos are indeed closer to mainland Asia. But fact is the Polynesians, including Hawaiians and as far of Rapanui to West and Madagascar to East. The Taiwanese aborigines to the North and the Maoris to south are all related, in language and genetics. All are Austronesian. If there is anyone to blame with this Pacific Islander vs Asian debate, then it's the bloody Europeans and their race/people branding! The Austronesian are the most widely spread people on Earth!
