usualy they just throw rods because of parts failure when the belt breaks all it does is shut the engine down or valves can stick and just creates a ton of fuel pressure in the cylinder and causes the rods to break ,also a fun fact for u on these cars the cranks twist over 30 degrees on each end and can actualy bow like 6inches + on a run

this usual happen when the blower belt breaks and the cylinders gets mixed up, intimate conversation between pistons and valves always ends up wit an explosion up ur ass

Probably threw a rod by looking at the fire, anybody know why these funny cars throw rods every so often? Is it just parts failure? maybe the whole 7000 horspower thing?
