  • Is this the guy with the racist douchebag son?

  • We got 30 minutes to live!

  • RIP Coach. He was indeed a great coach and motivator. He is one of the best coaches to have never won a super bowl.

  • "Everytime you lose you die a little bit. You die inside. A portion of you. Not all of your organs, maybe just your liver" -George Allen.

Football just isn't the toughman sport it used to be. The rules have changed to protect the players. Dick Butkus wouldn't even start in today's NFL.

  • George Allen had a queer relationship with Bill Brundige and Brad Dusek,as well as a facination with diron Talberts very long and thick penis that actually looked like a football.Jerry Smith,Dave Kopay,Bob Brunet,Von Mcdanial,John Wilbur and Pete Wysocky were all Gay Redskins who died from HIV as did ex Ram Lance Rentzel.

  • @yomamakunt Lance Rentzel is not dead. Pete Wysocky dead of lypmhoma. As for Talberts private parts how would you know? You have first hand knwoledge or something?

  • George Allen would not recognize this generation NFL.

  • George Allen was Racist

  • you are confusing coach george allen with his son, former senator george allen. the father was clearly not a racist, and had the full support of many black players, from the great deacon jones to the superb charley taylor.

  • They're all racist.

  • @gfscarface13 Total Bullshit!! Read Deacon Jone's book Head Slap. I'll believe in the documented comments from the black players who actually played for him over anonymous slander.

  • @andrewr62 You don't know the whole story.

  • @gfscarface13 And you do? Prove it! Easy to slander on the net. Name some published sources. I would just bet your a cowbow fan too.

  • @andrewr62 george allen wasn't the Only racist head coach in the nfl though.

  • George Allen was never a nobody. George Allen was a great coach.

  • annnnd yet Tom Landry is known as a legend and George Allen is known as a nobody compared to Landry

  • George Allen was a great coach but if Vince Lombardi hadn't died in 1970 the Redskins would have won there 1st Super Bowl in the 1970's under Lombardi & there would of never of been any QB controversy between Sunny & Billy because Jurgenson would of been the QB.

  • You are one Passionate skin fan sir. Great !!

  • Can't add to that.

  • George Allen won 168 games as a head coach. He won the 1972 NFC Championship with the Washington Redskins, but he is most notable for starting one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL.

  • I was a teenager living in suburban Oxon Hill when Allen took over in Washington. I can remember the excitement as Allen led the "over the Hill gang" into the playoffs. Coach allen sports the third highest winning percentage in NFL history, behind only Lombardi and Madden. Sadly, however, Allen appeared to lack the moral integrity of the likes of Tony Dungy or that of his old protagonist Tom Landry. Check out the book by his daughter jennifer, Fifth Quarter. Prepare to be disturbed.

  • Greatest Coach ever.Put a bunch of old guys together, that were journey men in the league. Most of them from loseing teams. He totally convinced them they could win.Greatest washington vs cowboys games back then, with tom landry coaching dallas.Money and big business has killed what they had back then.

  • allen treated sonny jurgensen like a pariah, and his one dimensional focus on defense cost his teams the championships they could have won. but he deserves credit for finding a way to squeeze a few more years out of players past their prime.

  • A nice tribute to a great coach!

He knew how to win, and what it took to win.

No one was better, and no one knew football more than George Allen.

    RIP coach!

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Being from Washington, D.C. and a diehard skins fan, I can tell you that he is as important to the skins as Joe Gibbs. He really turned it around after Lombardi came here. I guess his sons' turned out okay too.

And he made Long Beach St. into a winner.

  • One of my favorite coaches of all-time. Thanks for posting this! I was actually thinking of him on New Year's Eve, the day he passed away in 1990.

  • 40 MEN TOGETHER CAN'T LOSE!

  • George Allen was an innovator and motivator; the Redskins-Cowboys rivalry was never as fun as when GA was coaching the Skins.
