@DJDownUnderMashUp Some of us make a living out of development, web systems integration and other technological means, instead of taking mass quantities of ecstasy, robbing your neighbours TV and sticking two songs together with your dick
Very informative and easy to understand. So often I've run into concepts or disciplines (like computer scripting) that looked and sounded really complex, and had experts in the field try to explain it to me as if I were a fellow expert and should be getting it. Then when someone like this explains it in layman's terms, I get it right away, and it turns out to be a lot simpler than I thought.
i dont get it, does it mean that i can create an application and then make it of say google map to enhance my application for free!? please help me here =(
If you compare OS API to a buch of web services, like this guy, and then say there is no difference, you really are an idiot. Let's just stop going to school, get on youtube and listen to ZDNet guys.
i'm not saying you're wrong, but i didn't hear him say there was no difference between web services and OS APIs. all i heard him talk about was a shifting paradigm of programs on the computer to programs on the internet, and the API analogy was (presumably) used to show the inherent ease of use in web services. web services are clearly taking over the domain of traditional OS-based programs, so i don't think it's quite what you interpreted it as.
You have to read this!! you won't believe it!!! don't stop now!! make a wish - - - - - - - . . . . . Now that you have your wish it will happen! in exclatly 4 days. just copy this and paste it to 4 videos!! only one wish use it wisely and it WILL HAPPEN!!! but if you break the chain your wish will be the opposite
This isn't David Berlind, it's Greg Proops lol. Never heard of api mashups before, just for songs.

yes he does. the question is whether you're using APIs or SOA (service oriented architectures).
mistermashup 4 years ago
I think so, because it's really the core of mashups: Combining available content with other via APIs
