My dad worked for Matson from the end of WWII to when he retired in the early 80's. Everyone in the family sailed out to Honolulu - except me. (I was on a troopship bound for Vietnam!

It was a great era, with those magnificent one-class Whiteships. Matson set the standard for luxury travel aboard ship.
