Overlooked Missed Cause of Fibromyalgia

I came to this video because of facebook debate about Fibromyalgia. I was trying to make the same point about the term. It is almost the same as saying I have a bad case of the "Plague." A bad diagonsis can be worse than none at all. But I am not an MD, and there are "true believers" in the term unfortunately.

All that I have ever asked for was for my doctor to take time and talk to me. Every doctor that I have ever talked to his labeled me as a fibromyalgia patient and granted me narcotics. Thank the Creator I am not a junkie. No matter what I visit for on that day, they say its fibro. I would hate to be having a heart attack, they would say oh its just fibro, go home and take hydrocodone or some other drug.

thanks. Some good medical perspective on youtube! I have Lyme disease and really was dismissed by many doctors during the first 3 years of being sick.

I also want to mention that I have avoided the 7 foods for 4 months now. I couldn't agree more.

Ive been hurting for years and I don't know why...It's been labeled as Fibromyalgia...meds doesn't help..They just turn me into a Zombie so I don't take them.. thank you, thank you, thyroid, lymes, epsen barr, anemic, miscarrages, cfs, low D, low vit Bs etc etc etc. Docs say it's all in your head, call it fibromyalgia, the patient gets blamed and told it's your imagination, but the reality of that diagnosis is your doctors are lazy, and wants to belittle you so while picking your self esteem back off the ground, where they stomped on you, you forget to look at the doctor and notice he isn't doing his/her job and are too lazy to help.

...continuation. How do I find a doctor who will get to the bottom of this? I feel like a wreck all the time and I am only 22. I can't keep up with my friends and often I miss out on things because I am just too wrecked. I just feel like I must look like a hypochondriac, and when they keep testing me for things and it all comes back clear I feel like giving up and just living like this. Wish you lived here!!

I don't know if you are still replying or not but I thought your vids were very interesting! my mum was diagnosed with fibro about 10 years ago, and I was told I had it last year, but I just can't help thinking there must be a reason! I sleep for days, I have colds all the time the last time i didnt was about 11 weeks ago, I'm so sore all the time, i've been tested for autoimmune, celiac, and lots of other stuff, and it all comes back clear....

interesting im from tx I have fibro....also diagnosed with HYPER thyroid syndrome its a nightmare......What about this what are some thoughts when this is the case? I don't get sick easily i don't take any meds for any of this anymore because nothing works i use music instead......I have a constant Cough that NEVER leaves just gets worse from time to time.....I have suffered from the age of 13 the hyper thyroid was diagnosed around 3 years ago im only 22 ......Thanks!

nice to see theres a Dr who knows what he is talking about.Hey Doc,can you move up to Canada?Our "free" healthcare doenst work for sick people.The healthcare is free but the drugs the give you that dont work are not.Spent thousands of dollars on pills and Im more sick than ever.

I know I have written to you before... I have no thyroid... or had it dissolved 25 yrs ago.. have diabetes.. disk disease.. scolosis L4, L5 , S1... I do agree its somewhere in the thyroid... function.. I also break out in dime size spot of shingles.. mostly during stressful times. and always in the same spot... even just over this summer.. pain has been horrible.. so... Im glad you do what you do.. thanks for sharing.. :)

i'm 26 years old and i have just been digenoised with fibro, they put me on anti depressents celxa and tramdol, doesnt help i have brusing alover my body, my feet and hands turn blue i tigling and numbness in my hand ans feet, swelling in the moring some time for days in my face feet and hands i have been chronically been sick for 2 years straight , i had kidney and liver faluire, i have switched my diet to organic gluten free hormone free no dairy , i lost 100 pounds please help

I have the binder full of lab work & closet full of supplements, B12 injections, oxytocin injections, nitroglycerin patches, you name it. I went to a Fibromyalgia "specialist" and was started on what everone of thier patients is started on and a twice a month checkup and more supplements. Nothing has worked altho the thyroid did give me some energy. I no longer have a job or insurance due to pain and cognitive porblems, but I will follow your 7 things not to eat regiman and see how that goes.

@clarkchiro I do still go to a GP, but he knows little of Fibro except pain killers. The 7 things to restrict from your diet as you mentioned is good for anyone and is an excellent way to start living a healthier life. Thanks for your candor with autoimmune diseases and reaching out to a hurting community.

@Cypress36199 I don't think "fibromyalgia" is a useful diagnosis at all. All it really means is that you have "unexplained pain." It doesn't tell one what to do about it, or what caused the symptoms. Granted, we human beings like to have some sort of grip on what's happening to us, so getting a diagnosis/label can be comforting at first.

Sadly, that comfort quickly becomes cold comfort.

when they diagnose me with fibromyalgia all i know is I hurt badly and I dont know why my doctors wont do more its to the point where I dont even go to the doctor anymore.. they tell me its all in my head or some other reason cuz I dont look sick or look like im in pain but every time they realize I need surgery for something or they find a problem they are surprised by it.. so i gave up on trying to get answers even odder.. my symptoms went away when I was pregnant but then came back ten fold

it sounds like me the only problems is my freshman year in high school i tested positive for RA and borderline for lupus.. but I was retested last year for RA and had xray done and oddly enough tests came back negative.. then I tested positive for scleroderma by like one point, once rested came back negative, but then my c02 was high by a couple of points but they threw it out cuz I was pregnant, which im lucky i was pregnant cuz I miscarried I have had 11 surgeries and am waiting for the day

You sound like a wonderful doctor. I am definately autoimmune, but what tests do I ask for? I am allergic to a majority of foods, and vitamin supplements. Been labeled with Fibromyalgia...I need a diagnosis.
