  • @justinmjb seriously? you shouldnt be talking about alicia that way your probs just doing it cause your a fat obese single wanna be who could never get a girlfriend so you look at one of the best gymnast in the world's tits pshhhh go get a job or something

  • sing polish Michal lorenc.... look wyjazd z polski and 300 mil.... thsi song is taniec eleny.. the best in the world

  • The Finest Of The Fine!!

  • Too high of a score here. But her Olympic EF routine, I scored it at 15.900 lol.

  • Why did Sandra Isbaza and Anna Pavlova wear the same leos at Euro and Olympic EF?

    :D

  • Not exactly the same ; )

  • Are people whinning cos she won olympic gold over Johnson by showing some artistry??? I heard SJ won the dancing competition?? HOW? do you see her show any real dance artistry on the floor??

  • that must me a lucky leotard she won floor ef at the olympics with that same leo

  • I don't know a lot of gymnasia... but the only one thing I know is... Sandra is... just perfect

  • This routine and the fact that Nastia made EFs in Beijing gave me renewed hope that FX could be good again. It's been total shit for SUCH a long time... probably since 2000.

    I blame Carly Patterson.

  • Comment removed

  • Touché...

  • I agree the more graceful artistic routines like Sandra's are best, however blaming Carly Patterson is VERY unfair.... Plus Carly's routine was good in a different way

  • It was a joke, though I do detest every FX that Patterson ever did. She was expressionless and couldn't dance to save her life. I couldn't be less interested in that kind of gymnastics.

  • Oh ok :-P

I actually liked Carly's routines which is actually quite odd as I agree with you that the routines full of expression are SO SO much better than the difficult yet expressionless....!

  • nice music whats this??

  • taniec eleny - michal lorenc

  • she is incredible. she deserved this gold and the gold in beijing. i thought her routine in beijing was a little better just because she stuck almost every pass cold. this one was still amazing though. and i also love her music.

  • you suck bitch! Andreea Raducan is one of the commentators and she dosen't sux

  • No actually, she doesn't. You know who's annoying, those British commentators. No offense to anyone but they really are annoying and noisy.

  • Shes got the best music!Go Sandraaaaaaaa

  • this song was wrote by Michał Lorenc n it's title is Taniec Eleny ( it's soundtrack of Brute)

  • bv sandra!

  • This music is on every WIDZEW ŁÓDŹ match... its polish. W ŁODZI TYLKO WIDZEW

  • Her A score is 6.5. She is awesome! It sucks that this routine will be scored significantly lower in 2009 because of the new compositional requirements and maximum of 4 acro lines with saltos.

  • knowing the romanians, they will master any code you throw at them

  • yea, she could still do this routine if she indirectly connected 2 of her saltos with back and forth tumbling like dominique dawes and daniela silivas did. i think then it would count as 1 acro line and she would still get credit for both saltos.

  • I think she will make a routine with a really high start value.

she could do something like this

switch full (D), gogean (D), switch half (D)

    full in piked E

    full in tucked E

    2.5 punch front full +jump D+C .2 CV

    triple full +jump E+A .1 CV

    SV: 6.1

that will certainly be very competitive

  • edit: switch half (C)

  • Sandra is Amazing.!!! She really deserved the Gold medal on floor in Beijing.!!:D

Does anybody knows what her A-score is.?

  • 6.5

  • multumim sandra pentru ca ne-ai facut sa ne simtim mandri ca sunt romani. continua tot asa!

  • I love Sandra Izbasa so pleased she took the Olympic Gold on floor.

  • Esti magnifica, Sandra!

  • great she won :D

    i love her routine

  • please, please, whats the name of the song it's beautiful and very rhytmic

  • WTG Sandra for the Olympic gold!!!

  • wheeeeeeeeeee !!

  • She just won FX olympic gold, yey!

  • anyone knows the name of that song??

  • Michal Lorenc-Taniec Eleny (the song)

  • tanxs!!

part from the amazing routine, sandra always chooses great music...

  • excellent this exercise...i love it !!!

  • 23,391 She`s Gorgeus and talent.

  • I love Sandra Izbasa. She'll win FX Olympic title.

  • Sandra is brilliant, a true flag flyer for Romania

  • I think she will win FX gold in Beijing.

  • I hope so too. My username.

  • wot are cookie-cutter tumbling passes?

  • there is no original tumbling anymore, because there's so many required skills, most everyone is doing the same stuff

look at Shawn Johnson's routine, and look at Cheng Fei's, the tumbling is nearly identical, double double, whip triple, double full side pass, C+C combination, and a full-in dismount

    now look at Sandra

    she does 3 E skills, a D skill, and a C+C combination pass

    Alicia's is even more cookie-cutter than Sandra's

The question is: are there any unique FX gold medal contendors?

  • and btw I'm actually pulling for Sandra to win because I think Beijing will be her time to shine on the world stage

  • I see what you're saying. It's true that many floor routines are cookie-cutter, but that doesn't make it excusable. I would prefer to see someone with a good variety of tumbling and good dance. But alas, the code just doesn't reward it.

  • I've been rooting for sandra since her new FX was revealed at the europeans earlier this year. Like you said she does 3 E's, a C+C combo, and as well, she does a D+C combo worth 0.2 CV which neither cheng fei or shawn johnson do. She does a beautfiful triple spin and irreprochably 180 split leaps. As for original tumbling, i haven't seen much of that in the past 4 years except by "underdog" gymnasts like anna mysdrikova doing a triple twist immediate back tuck and whip back into double arabian!!

  • I know you are right. But still, this is a routine I would like to see in EF. It has olympic medal potential.

  • All Tumbling Is Similar These Days

SO Surely We Have To Focus On Dance And Execution Instead

Therefore, I Feel The Gymnasts Most Deserving Of Medals Are Jiang Yuyuan, Sandra Izbasa And Cheng Fei

I Would Love Beth Tweddle To Medal, But I Feel Her Artistry Lets Her Down

And It's The Same For Shawn Johnson, I Love Her, But She Does Not Dance The Way The Others Do

  • Darkoblivion, you may say Sandra has "cookie-cutter" too bad Cheng Fei only has Inconsistancy.

  • @chengfei shi win gold in bejing! :)

  • OMG. I got it right. I feel sad for Cheng Fei.

  • I don't hahahahahaaaaaaaaa

  • the best

    bravo sandra

    asta asteptam si la olimpiada

  • its great to see someone with 5 proper difficult tumbles - not just for and a double twist

  • and no double pike to end!

  • Its very refreshing isn't it?!

  • this is awesome. She is going to challenge Cheng Fei in 2008. 6.5 A score is as the same as Cheng's routine in 2006 and 2007.

  • A ROMANIAN with DANCE in THESE DAYS?! This is rare

  • More like "A GYMNAST with DANCE in THESE DAYS?!"

  • Haha, totally. But most Romanians haven't had very good dance since 1990ish

  • Yes. Since the 90's, the only floor routines I liked were from Raducan, Ponor and Ban.

  • Sofronie and Cojocar were good too.

  • I liked Marinescu's, Raducans, Munteanu's, Ponor's, and Ban's floor routines. :)

  • Maria Olaru, Andreea Raducan, Oana Ban, Sabina Cojocar, Daniela Sofronie and Catalina Ponor have always had lovely choreographed routines. Gina Gogean, Simona Amanar and Steliana Nistor are actually the exception that proves the rule, so claiming that the Romanians can't dance seems to me a little unfair.

  • I agree, but compared to the Romanians from the 70s and 80s it's really different. It's the same with American gymnasts, form the 80s and down most had wonderful artistic routines. Then they became so unartistic and robotic. BUT, anyone can dance. All you have to do is practice it :)

P.S. I didn't know you were from Greece!

  • You can't really compare the routines from the 70s to the ones performed today. Back then, it was dance with no tumbling; now it's the other way round. I do agree, though, that some gymnasts pay particular attention to the choreography, making their floor work look not only decent but beautiful. Check out Anna Pavlova, for example!

PS: I doubt anyone would guess my nationality when I'm obviously biased towards Soviet (hence Russian and Ukrainian) gymnasts! ;-)

  • Good point. Based on your "P.S." we have alot in common ;)

  • Ha, ha! I know, I've just seen your profile!

  • Agreed!! :)

  • very important:a gymnast who dance and smile!!!!

  • Totally :)

  • her routine is spectacular but i've seen routines way better than this from Romania. A bit disappointed by their team this year!!! But still, Go Romania

  • Result: 9.3, then some people would take off 0.1 for the landing on the full in tuck (probably 2 of the judges did, which explains the 9.275). i somewhat agree with ZmeskalFan, it's not usually counted as a deduction to dance out ONLY IF it is well controlled. [That's a bit subjective, hence the divide as to the full in tuck.) But the triple twist landing was well controlled hence no deduction for that. If Sandra could twist without crossing her legs, she could gain up to 0.4 on her B score!

  • I have been dissapointed by the Romanians for several years now. all I can say about this is WOW WOW WOW.....This literally took my breath away. She is GORGEOUS in EVERY SINGLE MOVE!!! I dont think I have EVER liked a Romanian gymnast the way I like here! This BLEW ME AWAY!

  • My deductions: Step on full in Pike - 0.1 Step on full in Tuck - 0.1 Crossed legs on 2.1/2 - 0.1 Step on front full - 0.1 Crossed legs on front 1.1/2 - 0.1 Step on front 1.1/2 - 0.1 Crossed legs on triple full - 0.1 Step on triple full - 0.1 9.2 + 6.5A = 15.7 Being quite lenient with the triple spin though.
  • Are you saying the steps she took back out of the first two you think are deductions? I disagree. I think MAYBE the little stutter in the first, but not the second. Gymnasts have done that since I can remember and unless its uncontrolled looking its not a deduction to "dance" out of it as they say...the rest of your deductions are right on though

  • doug1233 IMHO it wasn't a step on the front full after 2.5 twist. it's just a slight reflex rebound made to look worse than it was by the camera angle. From the judges point of viewm that would've been stuck. I would however add a deduction for the full in pike, she had a major leg separation. I get:

leg split in full in pike an step: -0.2

crossed legs on 2.5 twist: -0.1

crossed legs on 1.5 bwd: -0.1

crossed legs on 1.5 fwd and step: -0.2

crossd legs in 3 twist: -0.1

    that's 0.7

  • I'd also take a deduction for bent knees on the Piked full-in.

  • the guy that said he hate the romanian team is american. why i'm not surprised???shame on you!!!!!!!!

  • I like alot of Romanian gymnasts and I'm American.... What does your country have to do with your preference? A bit ignorant don't you think?

  • when i see her i'm proud to say that i'm from Romania.

  • The music is Michał Lorenc - Taniec Eleny...although it is a little bit slower than the one Sandra is performing to.

  • DUUDE !!!! thanks, i`ve been searching for this song since i`ve heard it :D

  • I think she did a great job and really hit this routine. Will give Shawn a run for the money, easily. Minor point: I actually think a double pike at the END of a routine is more stunning than a triple twist because of hight needed.

  • Romania is back and you cant stand it, history will repeat itself, Romania will win gold on floor again, blocking out the insinuative typical robotic american of Sacrmoan, the happy little elf Johnson and the inconcsitant Cheng Fei.

  • Smifrombelarus, you said 4 months ago that: "Romania will win gold on floor again, blocking out the insinuative typical robotic american of Sacrmoan, the happy little elf Johnson and the inconcsitant Cheng Fei"

Dude, like right on!!! So happy for Sandra. When i saw this new routine at the 2008 europeans, i knew she was in for a big chance to win gold on FX and she came through!!! What a lovely, beautiful, talented gymnast. Really happy with ALL the medals so far. I think the c.o.p is working!!!

  • Yes, Sandra deserved that medal, by far the best routine of the night. I was also pleased to see Nastia in the bronze medal position.

  • she won GOLD now get over it WHINER

  • hahaha yeah but americans whine about this..

  • yes you hate them because they are better than your country team and you will see they will take the gold in beijing romania will be olimpic champion 3 times in a row

  • me encanta!!!!

  • the fact that an american says romanians cant dance it's actually flattering seeing how your girls dance.

tell ya what lets leave competitions to settle this; besides, jealousy doesnt help.

  • I think they talk about her music. You are romanian... so do you hear the name of the music ?

  • No, they do not say the name of the music, they only say its greek; but I'm not so sure.

  • Oh, it's not Greek. I should know. BTW; the routine is beautiful and everyone who says that she's not a favourite for the FX title is a deluded ignorant. She has the highest A score in the world and her smile is just gorgeous. For the past 15 years, Romania is the most decorated team in the world. I would not be surprised to see them repeat in Beijing.

  • yes they say it is greek but sandra sad in an interview that the music is from Poland. in the other video with sandra some one posted a comment and sad that the music is Temat Eleni by Michal Lorenc

  • YOU are disgusting ! I'd like to see your floor routine... you can't do better !

  • I would like her to be the next olympic champion on floor and not a chinese woman (I think China will have a lot of medals on beam with Li Shanshan maybe on vault with Cheng Fei and He Kexin on bars if she participate)

  • I would say her recovery is even faster and better than Nastia Liukin's...

  • What's the name of this music?

  • whats the name of the music=

  • great izbasa

  • excellent!

  • What a great way to culminate wag euroes.

  • For once, I have to say you're right!!!

You've got to LOVE this routine and her smile. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!

  • I hope this is the same ending for beijing..although it wont be because floor is not going to be contested last..... :(

  • I hope she can repeat this performance in Beijing! I want her on the medal stand on this event. I love watching her floor.

  • i agree i agree i agree

so good to see her back on form :D

  • so beautiful girl:X:X

  • i love this routine and the music is great!

    GO SANDRA!!!

  • What is the name of this music ?

    Its great

  • Thanks

  • This is what I got for Sandra's routine... Being REALLY harsh, I still got an 8.9:

Pike full in (Bent legs in the air, -0.1; leg seperation, -0.1; chest low, -0.1; step <1m, -0.1)

Tuck full in (Chest low, -0.1; step <1m, -0.1)

2 1/2 twist (Crossed legs within flight phase, -0.1)

    Front 1 1/2 twist x2 (Crossed legs in flight phase, -0.1; step <1m, -0.1)

Triple twist (Crossed legs in flight phase, -0.1; step <1m, -0.1)

This routine, at these championships, was well scored, i'm just harsh

  • I agree with most of your deductions, however even being harsh there's no way she landed her 2 tsukaharas with her chest low. So, being harsh, she should get a 9.1 and i believe she got a 9.2 B score.

What a beautiful new routine for her. Everything came together, tumbling, dancing, the dance elements, and getting the audience to feel the perfomance. I don't think floor under the new c.o.p. can get any better than that.

  • She got a B Score of 9.275... And I am a certified judge... So I was harsh to show you that it was a truly divine routine, but NO judge would have given her under a 9 B Score... It was just my critical observations...

I love her new floor routine. It's one of the ONLY FX routines that I could honestly say I like in this new COP...

  • oh, right! I get you now. I thought you meant it didn't deserve anything more than 8.9 on her B score! I was like, yes you are very harsh LOL

I wonder what Cheng Fei is doing now, she must take Sandra seriously as a threat now. They both have a 6.5 start, and Sandra's execution is very good. The only way i see she can up her game is by +0.1 by doing a 2.5 twist instead of a double on her side pass. I know she was training for that at one point, still easier said than done! Only 4 months left!

  • i know this is not the most important thing... but this girl is so beutiful

  • she totally deserved this title!

  • This will surely make the american girls and fei cheng feel uneasy.I really do hope she repeats it in august 08.Oh,and at last a routine with a beautiful, catchy music and lovely choreography, not to mention the smile!!

  • What a routine!

  • Spectacular!!! I hope She makes it to the Olympics healthy and in great shape. Just watch the landings a bit more. Just the fact that she dismounts with triple twist rather than the tired double piked deserves A+ for innovation and should be rewarded for difficulty

  • Five difficult passes and she still smiles!

    Great routine!

  • I'm so happy she is back to her good form! Well deserved gold!

  • really beautiful

    she is really great !!!
