@GrandAngel8000 That wasn't the case. The Square side wanted to hire these guys, and Enix wanted to give them the C&D order and sue them. You can see who won out. Although FFXIII has had great sales, the game was terrible. FFXIV was a bust and they lost millions of dollars trying to recreate it. They just now finally made changes to it to actually make it a playable game. Any person wants to recreate their childhood favorite.

All Square Enix needed to do was tell the developers to slap a $5 fee on it and give them a $3 cut or something like that. Free money, free publicity, fan adulation, and an open door to some very profitable future remakes / sequels. Nearly every CT fan would willingly shell out five clams for a chance to play this.

We all knew this already, but SE are PR idiots and apparently don't want to make money. This was a golden opportunity for them and they missed it.

The team that made this are all pros in the industry now. The head guy, Nathan Lazur, used the exposure from CTR to launch his career in game dev. After some time at Pandemic he seems to be working at some start up companies. Just search for him on Linked In.

I have to agree with everyone here though. It really sucked when S-E bombed the project all those years ago. CT was one of the greatest games I've ever had the fortune to play through.

Square-Enix can just go fuck dog shit. Luckily my cousin goes to college at Cal Arts, and is a great 3D artist. I could get him and a few of his and my friends together, and we could make this actually work. We'd keep it a complete secret when we start of course, for the sake that the dickheads at Enix don't shut us down like they did these guys. Then we'll try to talk stores into selling it. Then, if successful, we'll drop a bag full of dog shit onto the people leaving the Enix Building.

A fan made remake, even if not for profit, doesn't fall under any of those categories so... it's out of Fair Use's umbrella of protection. Square-Enix had every right to call the C&D order and they used that right.

Wow, i really wish they would make this game in HD that would the AWESOME, the only complaint/suggestion i have is to not change the original music, adding new songs is ok, but dont make remixes of the original ones just keep them the same. Man this is sweet though.
