I'm over 40 and grew up with hiphop from the beginning. The music was better but the reality is that the late 80s and 90s really sucked from social standpoint. That's when the crack epidemic took hold and the killings got out of hand and the love died. The 70s and early 80s were the last of the good old days as far as quality of life goes.But again hiphop was at its creative best in the 90s. Just my opinion.
