  • oh no why is this recycling stuff is so complicatet in us for a german its funny to see

  • plastic caps can be recycle in :

    - homemade plastic cap rugs

    - margarine ( mmmmmmmmmm yummy)

    - mozaic

  • just beacuse it has a number on the bottem dosent mean your city and/or accepts it. it depends on who the city and /or hauler has a contract with. whoever they have a contract with may not accept the same materials because of the market

  • Yup, even if a product does have a number e.g. PET-1 that doesn't mean it's made of the same composite of plastic as the bottles are. In fact the bottle caps usually have a melting point of about 100 degrees C higher than the bottles! Shocking I know.

    In fact it is perfectly possibly to recycle the caps but not economical i.e. not profitable for the waste companies to sort them. The only viable way to recycle them is if the consumers separate them first.
