  • Can anybody tell me from where Garcia got his ideas for Apocalypse now?

Coppola listened to "drum pause" or s.th. like that.Late 70´s for sure but on

    which record?Thanks

  • 9-3-77, Englishtown is the superior version!

  • The dead were famous only because they were the first to do improvational stoned-jam rock. That does not make them great musicians. Greatful dead suck. Get a job pot heads. Hahaha

  • @elscruba . WHERE DO YOU LIVE SON ?

  • @elscruba Gobble a dick

  • @Aryozad, hey I like the greatful dead. especailly the part in which I am greatful their dead. hahaha. Suck it hippies! Take a shower, use soap. wash your hair. Cut it, jeez dreads on white people just looks stupid. shave your heads spacemonkeys. I have listened to G.D. I am not impressed. Like I said before, they are only famous for doing jam-rock first. and they didnt do it well either.

  • In reference to the comment on the famous May well, for that matter the lesser known but equally if not more mind blowing entirety of 77-6-4(Sat) at the Inglewood, Ca. Forum!

  • I really like the sound of the travis bean, my personal fav, it was so damn hard to keep in tune, but so twangy and good!

  • What make and model guitar is Jerry playing? Is that a Fender? I have no idea and would like to know.

    Peace.

  • @bluesguy0524

    It a Travis Bean MC500

  • Look a Jerry smiling! We love you man

  • *at

  • tepid drums, then whoops the song gets excised in this sly dvd ad, so why not post that 1974 version you have sequestered under yr bed, you know who you are, hoarding the goods while this

perfectly good music is jerked from the very jaws of us ravenous dogs...

    5-3-77

    5-7-77

    5-15-77

    5-18-77!

    5-22-77!

    5-26-77!!!

do yourself a favor and listen to eyes on those concert dates....you will not be disasapointed!

    peace

  • Agreed. Would you say that the 5-22 is the best of the bunch? I think it's the tightest for sure, but the 5-18 is a sweet too.

  • June 1977 was no slouch either, my friends.

  • fo sho

  • Could you feature a clip from one of those Eyes of the World from those dates??

    5-3-77

    5-7-77

    5-15-77

    5-18-77!

    5-22-77!

    5-26-77!!!

And has Dick Picks featured any one of those dates??

  • I love Portland, '77 and that version of Eyes of the World. Yet the band never officially released it!

  • I like 77' 'cause they were fast, and those were great, but 73' was THE best year, in my opinion.

  • I've watched this video many times, from around 4:40. I truly envy those people who were in that club that night back in '77. Just magical stuff. RIP Jerry Garcia. This violent world misses you.

  • its so awesome how micky and billy can jam together so perfectly like that, DEAD 4 EVA!

  • fuck you man

  • get a life daniel

  • im 13 n i love the dead! micky n billy r amazing togetherr rip garcia- 8/9/95

  • Couldn't agree more JK, don't forget Gene Krupa, in addition to the nasty country beats he lays down during tunes like Big River. Listen to the Dead during Mickey's absence and it becomes readily evident that Billy K is a really gifted musician.

  • Billy Is Awesome - Part Buddy Rich, Elvin Jones,Tony Williams, Ringo etc. etc...Probably played more concerts than the others put together...Groove Master

  • Dude U R so fuckin right.

  • gawddddddddddddd

Haven't seen these two in action in a while. hang on!

  • The Dead did a tremendous version of eyes on 'Make Believe ballroom' a bootleg released in England in 76. Prob recorded from Radio show. Any similar?

  • Is this from Duke? I used to have this on VHS until some deadhead borrowed and then boogied...

  • I got an awesome Eyes clip from 6/17/91 East Rutherford, NJ. Check it out. Its awesome

  • Lousy sound but great playing. When Bill and Mickey were on they were nothing short of amazing.

  • why post 5 minutes of monotonous drums (sacrilege!!!) and 2 minutes of eyes instead of seven minutes of eyes? Jeez Louise!!! And I do have the time to call my soul a critic, no!

  • drumzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz good!

  • if this is the copy i have that ALL of the eyes he has

  • wake up to find out that you have the mind of a squierrel

  • hahah theres alot of misconceived lyrics of the dead.. i have not one but two recordings of masons children where bobby says mason died on sunday, while everyone else says monday

  • Great video. I love to watch how they work together. And in comes Eyes.
