thanks for this! i took out the redstone torch and replaced it with redstone and it works w/ pressure pads!!! it helps becausse the new minecraft 1.2.3 patch was that zombies can break down doors (luckily only wooden ones otherwise im screwed). so i had to install iron doors w/ pressure pads to my house and my storage room. thanks for the video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With 1.2 you don't need the torch or the block next to it. Just connect to two doors with redstone and the button will power both.

this works, but if you use a button or pressure plate, and the door stays open and only closes when you activate it, then you have to play the button or pressure plate first, and then place the torch.

And to all you people commenting "it's not working", there's two things that might have gone wrong:

-You placed the inverter (dirt block with the redstone torch) the wrong way around. This causes the doors to stay open, and close when you press the button.

-You've placed the button on the wrong side of the doors. This means you'll be trying to send an impulse through an already active redstone wire. Does not work.

@MrRadica1x if you want to make it work with a button, just played about with it and if you reverse/flip his setup it'll work with a button, because this setup makes the lever down have the doors closed and up, open, so with a button it would be always open and pressed to close for like a second, so yeah flip the redstone circuit and put lever/button on otherside and it reverses that process to make it operational :D

lol hey that jamth man guy has a much easier double door trick.

you just need 2x3x2 hole. 2 pieces of redstone, 2 doors, and 2 pressure plates by choice. you could do levers too. or 1 pressure plate and a lever. i like prssure plates more.

I have working double doors that are extremely easy to make but the problem is that they use pressure plates and for some god damn reason there's a shit ton of animals outside of my house that keep stepping on the plates and getting in

If you don't know how to hide redstone, you don't belong using it.

@EvDC12 How about you make it and test it for yourself. You will see you are wrong. The door is open from the redstone torch, and the switch turns off the torch. Door open=switch off. Go through the doors and flip the one inside turning off the torch and closing the doors. I just made it and it works fine. It also effectively disables the switch outside so it also functions as a locking door.

To hide the side holes you can use 2 half blocks on top of each other. They look the same but they don't block the redstone like normal blocks.

fyi dude. whenever u got a 2 sided lever thing. like one lver on one side. and u make a house out of that system on multiplayer "works, i tried" it makes a lock to where the lever on the outside is up while the lever inside "ur area" is down, it creates anything from entering. i tried this in singleplayer too, you must destroy 2 blocks go around and test. its a really cool bonus i found to it.
