  • someday I will post a video doing this , and you will see how a real pro do this job.

  • YOU ARE DOING WRONG..THE LINE IS CROOKED AS SHIT. TRY STAYING ON CONCRETE AND HOLD IT STRAIGHT.I HOPE THAT WAS YOUR LAWN AND NOT A PAYING CUSTOMER

  • that looks like shit my lawn is better than that

  • you are right, edging on the grass is best.'BECAUSE' the edge has a slight angle towards the grass making it last longer before it starts hanging off the concrete and it looks sharper. i have 97 lawns,70 of them because of my edge. OH YEA- REMOVE THAT GAURD. PROs DONT NEED THEM

  • Very good tips! If anyone needs lawn care in the Charlotte, NC area give me a call at 704-606-3769 I'm the Owner/Operator of Small Stripes Lawn Care.

  • Thats called half ass work... Buy a real edger and do things the right way....

  • @Aldi752 edgers are for people that don't know what they're doing and like to pay an ass load extra money for a useless feature.

  • WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! That's the lazy and half-ass way to do it. First off, using just a timmer head and flipping it over won't make it look professional nor straight; you'll run the risk of scalping it and it'll be uneven. And secondly, like me, use either a REAL edger or an edger attachment with an actual BLADE. That'll give you a straight edge all the time; trust me, I know, I get compliments from my neighbors all the time.

  • Dam that edge looks horrible! Was absolutely the wrong way to edge. Get a STIHL Newbies! Stand on the pavement and it makes that flat edge. You burnt that edge UP!!!!

  • Damn I need a real trimer

  • Terrible. If anyone is looking for an instructional video about line trimming this is not it.

  • I wonder how it will turn out when how to ask the mexicans if their shaft is curved or not.

  • uhhh???

  • get an edger. get eye protection. quit screwing around with your weed whacker.

  • @ryzer349 Pro's like me have skill with a trimmer and don't need a amateur edger. But yes you do need eye protection

  • that looks like shit isnt the point of um uh um a um instructional video suppose to teach you the right way to um uh do things

  • Actually no. You should holdit more straight up, and You can see what youre doing better and get a straighter line if you edge from the pavement side. However you did walk backwards which is correct, you can stay more stable while walking backwards while string edging

  • y the fuck would you buy a edger weedwackers work the best i do it at work all the time the edger just suck nuts

  • Did Anyone Notice It was Already Edged Last Mom They just Trimmed it and Dude Who Wears shorts while Mowing the Grass. Not the Fashion police or anything but it just takes one time for u to Trim or mow into Glass or some Dry Clay Soil And Your Legs Will Be On Fire.

  • make sure to at least wear safety glasses ... a random pebble or debris in your eye can ruin your day , week , or life ...

  • @mooseboy66 Drama. American??

  • its not a "weedeater" its called a line trimmer."weedeater" is a brand of line trimmer. thanks

  • @MrCatmandew2 Just like people call a copy machine a Xerox machine, most people call these weedeaters.

  • where are your pants and goggles, young man?! ;-))

  • @tln138 u dont need pants if ur not a bitch

  • I do lawn and even when i use my echo edger i still finish my edging with weedeater just because it makes it look better and also creates a better ditch between the grass and concrete

  • I'm getting better at it and learned little by little from seeing wobbly lawns in the area.

There are stick edgers available for that absolute look but till then this works well if you don't get too antsy and take your time.

    Eye and ear gear help.

    Thanks for the video.

    ;0)

  • your not supposed to walk foward for all who think that..i mean you can do whatever u want but reason is on a straight shaft weedwacker the head spins counter-clockwise and if u want foward and edge your going against the string..ive learned that walking with the string ALWAYS leaves a cleaner edge. also @ MegaTmarshall its funny how you say edgers give a "professionally maintained look" when the "pros" are useing string trimmers to edge...just sayin:)

  • This is the lazy man's way of edging a lawn and it doesn't cut very straight (unless you're a surgeon) as compared to an actual electric lawn edging tool. I use a proper lawn edger and I get a far sharper edge on my lawn than what is shown here. If you want a professionally maintained look to your landscape, edge, mow, trim & blow (in that order) is the Golden Rule. The Golden Rule also makes for less clean-up when you finish.

  • @MegaTmarshall It's also for the people who can't afford to buy an edger right now and their lawn looks like crap becuase thay have to find a way to make it look better until they can buy an edger.

  • @Jotun0 My electric lawn edger was no more expensive than my weed whacker. You can also get a manual lawn edger that you use like a small spade along the curbs & sidewalks and it puts a really nice edge on any lawn. It takes a bit of hard work but it looks really clean and sharp after the clean-up.

  • Very good advice, thanks! Also, the comments are somewhat helpful, too - except for "jonesbrent85" who is quite awful at articulating himself.

  • i do my edging like that only i walk forward on the pavement

  • sorry to tell you this you realy dont no how to use a trimmer and is dose not matter what kind of trimmer you have you just need to no how to edge with a trimmer.it dose not matter what you walk just get the job done walk the fastest way to get it done so do you get the point?

  • let me guess, you're a landscaper and get paid by the house...

  • @ninja6kid yup i get paid by the hour

  • you should walk forward....

  • but if u stay on the sidewalk wont the grass go into the lawn and save u time from having to sweep/blow it off? i do lawn care and thats how i do it, but Hey to each his own, Kepp on Cuttin.. I prefer this over an Edger
