i drive exactly this car made in 1994 (175 PS), bought in 2000 and still driving! And the costs for insurance are VERY LOW! Just 160 € per year.Very nice to drive on the german Autobahn;-) Top speed is 245 km/h, and as you can see in the video the speed indicator goes up to 280 km/h! The quality of this car is impressive too. After 17 years and approximately 188.000 km its still in exellent shape! Just 1210 kg. 6.9 kg per PS. 0-100 km/h (60 miles) in 7.9 seconds. Your comment about not stirring the soul is actually fairly accurate... Don't get me wrong, I've been driving a Toyota for the past 7 years and I love the thing, but my experience with other cars has shown that if you really want a 'stirring' experience with anything sporting the Toyota brand its Supera or bust.

Again, I'm not saying I have anything against this car, I would be stoked to get my hands on one, but unless you do some work on them, they seem to me to be a little mundane.

good video and a good summary of the car, i used to have a uk special edition of the 1.8 gen 6 called an SR and i loved it. Now have a T sport which is the 190 vvtl-i gen 7...the road noise in that is massively worse than my SR was. Still with both cars whenever i walk away from them i always end up looking back

To be honest the celica is really not a sports car, don't get me wrong I have one. It is a good car, but it doesn't handle like a sports car. The gear changing is slow, the engine isn't big enough and its front wheel drive. Its a wanabe sports car for people who want a 'sporty car', like teenagers. Though the GT-Four on the other hand is amazing! It is AWD, turbo and everything is tuned to make it an actual sports car.

Using "rubbish" and "bonnet" doesn't make it a top gear style review. Top gear doesn't use mediocre words like "good" to describe a car they're passionate about. They will say something like "a 2L turbocharged 4 cycl that makes an astonishing 242 horsepower" or "as you can see, only beheaded amputeees would fit in the back seat."

i'm still waiting a few weeks till i start chasing for my celica so i didn't got to the tuning part , but i can tell the way my bro did with his tt.

He started with an air filter, then continued with the whole exhaust , getting rid of the catalyst also , then he did the remap , then he got the pop-off valve , and then he ended with the suspensions. He's now looking forward into changing the brakes. Hope it helps a little..

There isn't much space in the back. Celica is designed to fit only two people on the backseat and we've never tried to fit there three people, I think it will be extremely uncomfortable :D

and most important the Toyota T20 JDM OEM tail lights ! (used in Japan, white turn lights) = more modern look for the 6Gen Celica.
