texting while driving seems more retarded than drunk driving. my back is still recovering from an accident a few months ago, some drunk driver passed his red and hit my truck with my brother's kids in with me, fortunately only the truck and I took any damage. believe i was pissed, i controlled myself because i was concerned for the kids, but if it was someone who was texting, i think i would have beaten the hell out of them.
me and my sister showed my grandparents, my parents, and my little brothers this video. my mom always texts and drives so it really means a lot that they made this so i could show her. she cried when she was watching it and said she would quit! thank goodness.

I see nothing wrong with this video. Kids hear how many people die while texting and driving, but they say "Whatever it wont happen to me." But this frightens you and sticks in your head. It makes you say "Wow, ill never text and drive AGAIN!" This is pretty much the most effective and/or only way to show kids what can really happen. I think its really useful for this to be shown.

Yes it was very sad and torn at your heart with the baby dead and the boys parents killed.
All teenagers should be required to watch this video before being issued a drivers licence as I am sure they can also add all those other things that are distractions for them while driving and drive responsible.

I see nothing wrong with this video. Kids hear how many people die while texting and driving, but they say "Whatever it wont happen to me." But this frightens you and sticks in your head. It makes you say "Wow, ill never text and drive AGAIN!" This is pretty much the most effective and/or only way to show kids what can really happen. I think its really useful for this to be shown.

while this is good for showing how bad texting is, I can't help but wonder why the oncoming car didn't find it alarming that the teen's car was straddling both sides. I can guarantee you that if I was driving and I saw that, I'm going to start hugging the side of the road. And what about the second car that hit them? Do people jut drive full speed up to an accident?

sure this is sad and has shocked people a little bit, but it wont help at all in the long run. people will stop texting for a couple of weeks maybe tops, but everthing will go back to normal eventually. even if a hundred babies died of this type of thing, it'll shock people for a while but in the end it wont make much of a difference.

Yes it will help. It may not prevent everyone from texting while driving, but it will stop a few who have watched it. And, if it stops even just a few, then I think it's done it's job.

As of July 1 texting while driving is illegal where Im from. Id love to see a ban on cell phone use of any kind while driving in all 50 states. People who use cells while driving are as likely to cause an accident as a person driving drunk.
