I'm thinking they went to Mexico. They always say the Aztecs had a dream of an Eagle on a cactus and decided to search for it.

after two hundred and three hundred years of living there why would that man think they would just up and run off? they didnt leave by choice rather they were murdered by settlers and the servivors where placed in Concentration camps pushed to oklahoma with other tribal people a place where they call the quote" cherokee's or Cherokee nation wich really means a collection of several native tribes that lost their lands over the mid west.

@TEEWEE01 Aztalan was abandoned hundreds of years before European settlers arrived.

here is a theory on why the built the mounds not because of some uropean thought process of superiority but out of actual purpose meaning that when it rains and floods that was a place to go on top of the mound until the water receded.

Aztalan sounds like nahault! Could they be descandants of nahualt speaking ppl.The nahault speaking ppl did origanate in the north.
