Wow. I thought we had come a long way since the 80's and the hate that came along with it when it came to HIV/AIDS. I am HIV+ and have been for 10 years. I know some will say that I got what I deserved. I may be off in saying this but we need to keep the funding here in the US instead of sending it to Africa. Because of our funding there, they get their medicines free. Last year my medicines alone were over $22,000.

Only after we stable the help of those within our own country that we ought to help others since by then we have enough for everyone. $22,000 is pretty steep, but all medications are. Gleevac would cost my sister $48,000 a year, if it weren't for the program Jackson Memorial Hospital offered her. Peace.
