I'm thinking about getting this case, was this the one with the Tool-less drives? Were they easy to use and do they do a good job holding everything down?
I have this case, there are some downsides. I had to modify it to fit my gtx280 inside as the card itself is 10.5 inches. I had to remove the hd tray. My gripes with this are the lack of large enough cable management holes. Lack of space in between the right panel of the case and the case cover (squishing the cables behind the motherboard). And whoever designed the usb/phone/mic jacks needs to get their head straightened. The cables from those jacks to the motherboard are so short you cant hide.
Hey, i have this case, im stuck as of now because the hd_audio wire from the front panel is not long enough to reach my motherboard connector, any suggestions? thanks
I had a similar problem...I was able to manage by routing the wire under the graphics card...though your mobo might be further i dont know...if necessary you can get a longer audio connection off newegg...
The "budget" case I like the most for now is the NZXT Alpha, followed by the Thermaltake M9 and the NZXT Apollo. The Alpha just looks so darn sleek and cool, while also being minimalistic. And I also like that it comes with two case fans. I also like the Guardian and the Lian Li.
hey whats up man? i was wondering if a dp45sg motherboard by intel (looks like any other normal motherboard) with your cpu cooler will fit in that case? thanks
They both appear to be the same layout or at least similar, so I would say it would probably fit just fine. Just to let you know though, watch out for graphics card size as there isn't a whole lot of room to play with.
I would say it is iffy, but if it does it will be very close. The Hdd rack doesnt leave much room. I have 2 4850's and there is about 1 inch between the end of the card and hd bay. Im not sure how long a 9800 is.
2.5 that I can think of...The first is that the audio/usb hub at the top will get disconnected from the mobo fairly easily if you remove the front panel. Second the side panel (clear side) will rettle if you leave the panel screws off (as I usually do for easier access. The half is cable management as there isnt a great deal of room after everything else is installed though this may not be a big deal to you. Other than these minor issues it has worked just fine for me so far.
i have the same case and what is the order of what you put your power switch into the motherboard. like the actual pins going in what order. my motherboard is a dell atx micro
it should say in the motherboard instruction manual since every mobo is different. usually i believe it is the 2 toward the outside ov the board, and away from the corner of the board, but dont quote me on that.
and i was wondering where you got your case from? i looked at tigerdirect they had that and a black version of that .. i want the black one.. its for 57 bucks and 20 shippin.. i was wondering where you got yours from?
It seems pretty sturdy to me. It is 1/8th inch aluminum and I would bet that I could probably pick the whole computer up by the door. (though I have no intention of trying)
Depends on how much overclocking you want to do. The e8400 would probably be better for games if you left it at stock settings but the Q6600 can be overclocked further.

@manutube8080 It really wasnt that big of a problem as I remember...but so long as you have fans you cant ever keep all of the dust out.

Does the case has front fan for air intake?
yxa86 2 years ago
No, which sucks because most cases in it's price point do. To be honest, I'd pick a ThermalTake M9 over this any day.

Thanks for the reply. I found out that you can install a 120mm fan in front of HD mount and you have to buy it separately. I have another options:
1.AZZA Orion BlackMid Tower ATX which really slick
2. NZXT guardian 921 which has front intake, but the ugly thing is that it has only 3 5.25" drive bay.
3. M9 is a really good choice.

I was thinking of getting two 8800gts(320mb) in sli instead of one 9800 gtx and there shorter then the 4850

I just ordered this same case.
Any downsides, or things I should know?

psguru07 3 years ago
Correction, the Q6600 is faster when overclocked.
psguru07 3 years ago
if there isn't much of a difference between q6600 and e8400 , i would go for the q6600.
and thanx for the reply
