@thewalrusaurus You are absolutely right. Merkley is absolutely right! I agree with him. The rich are NOT willing to pay a single dime for our country's economy. when i hear tea-party/GOP people say "the american people voted us to do such and such", they are only refering to the wants of ONLY the wealthiest americans. The GOP only want power. THEY HAVE NO INTEREST IN SERVING AMERICA AS A WHOLE!!! THEY ONLY CATER TO THE RICH BECAUSE THEY CAN GIVE THEM ALL THE CAMPAIGN FUNDS THEY WANT!!!!!

I could not be more pleased with his performance as my Senator. He's proved himself a strong advocate for the middle class and the poor, the environment, education, and a host of other progressive values.
