Algalon should have been left as the final boss in wow, the encounter should also have been in another zone where they could make the "walls" stand further out to create a deeper vision during the encounter, making it feel like your in space. They should have saved him :(

yogg was by far my favorite raid encounter. it felt so chaotic and cool. you have to kill these adds near the girl, avoid the clouds or you'll over spawn and murder everyone, split dps into the mind rooms and witness a terrible moment in azeroth lore while running into the room and damaging the gods of death brain. control the adds, split the dps between that and the actual boss. dont forget, look away or else his very face will guarentee your insanity. So . Fucking. Cool.

Just finished the achievement run for iron proto drake. Even at 85 this raid id still amazing and takes a good amount of time. Ulduar will always be one of the best raids Blizzard has ever made.
the only reason the titans locked the old gods away was because they would have destroyed azeroth with them. also, lore confirmed that cthun is dead, and yogg might be dead as well (who knows, he might still live)

@AvatarCallka All raids (that aren't simple single-boss quickies) generally span several hours. Ulduar in particular is fairly long, so unless the group is particular skilled and geared, it's common for it to be split into two nights' worth of raiding, both nights spanning several hours. If I remember right, the group I used to go with went as far as the area with the Four Watchers before calling it a night for the first part of the raid.
Ugh I did an achievement 25 man run of that place the other day...( all 85s ) took like 6 hours because people don't listen..but I am happy with my mount :3
@IAmFrostblazer That is because he felt nothing when he eradicated other planets. He was suppose to obliterate Azeroth. But he got proven that the population of it had potential. And he questions himself if the other planets had such potential, just not the time enough to show it before their planet got destroyed.
That was why he was mad. Not because that he got beaten, but because he killed so many innocent lifes without even feeling regret that he had.
Heres a little something for you: Kil'jaedan was a demon created by Sar'geras, the fallen titan. When we fought Kil'jaedan, he was at a 1/10th of his strength because he had to hold his portal open while fighting us. Sar'geras is worth a 1000 Kil'jaedans, and the old gods (Yogg-saron, C'thun) are worth a 1000 sar'gerases. So when the god of death tells you to bow before him, YOU BETTER %#@%ING BOW!
That is not true. Kil'jaedan was an Eredar (Draenei) before he was corrupted along with Archimonde, by Sargeras. Sargeras is a titan and was one of the Pantheon, who imprisoned the Old Gods. Therefor, Sargeras is way more powerful than the Old Gods, especially now that he is the master of the Burning Legion.
One thing you are right about, however, is that the Kil'jaedan we fight in the Sunwell is not a fully powered version of him.
@Gildorify Well, you are wrong as well, I did fail to clarify that Kil'jaedan was an Eredar before a demon but the Old Gods are a lot more powerful then any of the Titans. In the book "The Sundering", It is revealed that the Old Gods were imprisoned by the Titans. However, the Old Gods so far outclassed the Titans that it took an army of Titans to merely imprison them. It is also revealed that Sar'geras would be powerless against an Old God if confronted alone.

@IAmFrostblazer I agree that Kil'jaedan didnt show his true power but i think its because we were fighting only his avatar and not because of the portal.
@Sakubidon I don't think it was his avatar. If he would wanted to send only his avatar to Azeroth, he wouldn't need a portal made from Sunwell. He needed that portal to physicly enter Azeroth, and if I recall correctly, then according to what happens during encounter we only manage to push him back through portal thanks to sacrifice of Arvena, Avatar of Sunwell(R.I.P).
you know, i sort of DONT like ulduar and the old AQ for one reason: the old gods could NEVER be taken down by mortals. even the mighty titans feared the power of the old gods. it took an entire army of titans to merely capture and repress them, and its impossible to entirely kill them. and as you can see, aparently a bunch of mortals can beat them >.>
@IAmFrostblazer However the "Mortals" that defeated required a vast amount of aid from way stronger beings. Yogg-Saron you see required the 4 titan watchers to aid in his defeat. As for AQ40 I can't remember but I believe that the Bronze Dragonflight helped out a bit and that was if the "mortals" could get the bronze flight to help them.
@nikana4 even so, the watchers are like specks of dust compared to the old gods. the titans created the watchers, and were far more powerful then them. Sar'gerus (i know i spelled that wrong) is more or less unstopable, and nearly destroyed the world several times. the Old gods like beings like 20 times stronger. It doesnt matter what arguments you make, but it is impossible that mortals could defeat them, no matter how weakened they were. However this doesn't mkae ulduar any less awesome.
@Verican80 The twilights hammer serve the old gods Yogg-Saron and C'thun were just of couple of those (embodyments of them anyways) they do not directly serve deathwing they just have the same interests as him, i.e. the destruction of everything ever.
@IAmFrostblazer I thought The Pantheon did not kill The Old Gods because their Curse of Flesh was already rooted too deep in Azeroth that their death would result in destabilization and destruction of it. That's why they only neutralized them and locked them up deep beneath the surface. And that is why it's strange we can suddenly kill them without hesitation even though it's unlikely mortals would succeed in doing so.
@JawsOnYou67 guess so, but they end up with 0 Hp and as a corpse after defeating them, fo example kiljaeden doesnt die he escapes back through the portal, they could they something similar with yogg and cthun deaths.

Heres a little something for you: Kil'jaedan was a demon created by Sar'geras, the fallen titan. When we fought Kil'jaedan, he was at a 1/10th of his strength because he had to hold his portal open while fighting us. Sar'geras is worth a 1000 Kil'jaedans, and the old gods (Yogg-saron, C'thun) are worth a 1000 sar'gerases. So when the god of death tells you to bow before him, YOU BETTER %#@%ING BOW!

That is not true. Kil'jaedan was an Eredar (Draenei) before he was corrupted along with Archimonde, by Sargeras. Sargeras is a titan and was one of the Pantheon, who imprisoned the Old Gods. Therefor, Sargeras is way more powerful than the Old Gods, especially now that he is the master of the Burning Legion.
One thing you are right about, however, is that the Kil'jaedan we fight in the Sunwell is not a fully powered version of him.

@Gildorify Well, you are wrong as well, I did fail to clarify that Kil'jaedan was an Eredar before a demon but the Old Gods are a lot more powerful then any of the Titans. In the book "The Sundering", It is revealed that the Old Gods were imprisoned by the Titans. However, the Old Gods so far outclassed the Titans that it took an army of Titans to merely imprison them. It is also revealed that Sar'geras would be powerless against an Old God if confronted alone.

@Sakubidon I don't think it was his avatar. If he would wanted to send only his avatar to Azeroth, he wouldn't need a portal made from Sunwell. He needed that portal to physicly enter Azeroth, and if I recall correctly, then according to what happens during encounter we only manage to push him back through portal thanks to sacrifice of Arvena, Avatar of Sunwell(R.I.P).

you know, i sort of DONT like ulduar and the old AQ for one reason: the old gods could NEVER be taken down by mortals. even the mighty titans feared the power of the old gods. it took an entire army of titans to merely capture and repress them, and its impossible to entirely kill them. and as you can see, aparently a bunch of mortals can beat them >.>

@IAmFrostblazer However the "Mortals" that defeated required a vast amount of aid from way stronger beings. Yogg-Saron you see required the 4 titan watchers to aid in his defeat. As for AQ40 I can't remember but I believe that the Bronze Dragonflight helped out a bit and that was if the "mortals" could get the bronze flight to help them.

@nikana4 even so, the watchers are like specks of dust compared to the old gods. the titans created the watchers, and were far more powerful then them. Sar'gerus (i know i spelled that wrong) is more or less unstopable, and nearly destroyed the world several times. the Old gods like beings like 20 times stronger. It doesnt matter what arguments you make, but it is impossible that mortals could defeat them, no matter how weakened they were. However this doesn't mkae ulduar any less awesome.

@Verican80 The twilights hammer serve the old gods Yogg-Saron and C'thun were just of couple of those (embodyments of them anyways) they do not directly serve deathwing they just have the same interests as him, i.e. the destruction of everything ever.

@IAmFrostblazer I thought The Pantheon did not kill The Old Gods because their Curse of Flesh was already rooted too deep in Azeroth that their death would result in destabilization and destruction of it. That's why they only neutralized them and locked them up deep beneath the surface. And that is why it's strange we can suddenly kill them without hesitation even though it's unlikely mortals would succeed in doing so.
