I have cadence and heart rate but don't use the cadence. I love this computer - the display is programmable to show up to 8 fields of the users choice from about 30.
The ability to 'race against yourself' is brilliant. It shows two bikes - one is you 'last time' and the other is you today (over a stored route.)
No. The Garmin 305 is a bicycle computer not a mapping device. The software on your PC displays a simple map of where you've cycled and the unit will accept a 'waypoint' so you can return to a given spot.
You can upload the tracks into Google Earth and other mapping software.
They certainly kick big ass...! Putting this in perspective, most of the bikes passed are slow, knobbly tyred flat bars ridden by overweight rec. riders.
Even so, there were a few drop bar DFs and I passed them all.
Not all recumbents are fast - the P-38 was designed for racing but it's a bit dated now. Carbon low racers will see it off but IMO they're not as comfy!
Hey Mate, Have mercy on those poor, recreational flatbar riders who seem to be slogging through treacle. If you clip on some playing cards that flap in your spokes maybe they'll feel better riding backwards? ;-)
Anyone know what a "DF" is?! How does a P-38 climb? Is it heavy?

@veelo799 DF = diamond frame; conventional upright bicycle.

What the hell does this video have to do with a P-38 Lightning? Oh, that's right. NOTHING! Can videos be renamed regardless of what the author says?

@B17Boy
It's a recumbent bike made by Lightning Cycles. The model is the P-38. Hope that helps.
