Discovering the universe doesn't prove that there is no God on the contrary it just goes to show how little our knowledge is. Allah said He is the creator of the Universe and everything in it. 1400 years ago Allah said in the Koran He is expanding the universe which was only discovered recently.
@uselessjoe Dude, the secret manned Mars landings were staged in a studio. That was Johnson's program but then Nixon decided to hide the secret phony tapes and send men to the moon instead for real.
Perhaps if we didnt have to spend billions on security against religious nuts who seek to blow us up and drag mankind backwards. We could then spend that money collectively as a planet, go to Mars and maybe prove that religion is fake. Or could it be that they dont want to do that ?
It will take a unified effort between the space-faring entities of Earth, namely the U.S., Russia, the Europeans, and China, to get us there. Given the state of humanity at this time, it looks like the exploration of Mars will be left to those that can only imagine it.
The shuttle is also used to launch all kinds of satellites. All a moon base would do is study the surface of the moon (and only a small section of it) and better prepare for surface expeditions to other places. There are numerous other difficulties too. The shuttle was pretty much a neccasary step to be taken before building a moon base.
it would be nicer if there were more efficient vehicles to supplement the shuttle, and if we built our own space station earlier, but congress really really sucks.
It should be. NASA currently has a budget of about 16 billion a year, which is pretty high, it's average budget is around 10 billion a year. By contrast, the defense budget is 400 billion a year. if NASA earned one tenth of the defense budget, fuck, we'd be landing people on titan by now. During the apollo program, NASA earned 25 billion a year, and almost all of that was spent on apollo. Now they have less money, and a lot of smaller programs.
thats what i don't understand about people on earth. why are we so concerned with fighting each other and solely what is going on on this planet when there is so much more out there? we should all be working together to discover the endless possibilities of things outside of earth. a lot of people believe man has never even been to the moon...
Well, a lot of people are idiots. And while most anyone would agree that the apollo moon landings came too early, and that it would have been a lot smarter to better develop our spacecraft technology before landing on the moon, we still had that capability in 1969.
The U.S. space program should've kept their focus on the moon and the establishment of a permanent base, where we could have launched manned missions to Mars. Instead, we shifted our focus on the Space Shuttle. Thirty years and 14 lives later, we're no closer to Mars.

Why did we put a man on mars before we went to the moon and how did they keep it out of the news for so long?

i really don't see why they can't build a station on the moon. wouldn't that be a better starting point if you want to make it to mars??

in my opinion space exploration should be one of our biggest priorities...

then why havent they gone back?
PETETHEMEAT42 4 years ago
it would be a lot easier to concentate on LEO for a while. It's smarter to gain a permanent foothold in space before going off to the moon.

LEO?
