One weird thing that I've found that translates from PC to console is high sensitivity drag scoping. I am a very good sniper on PC, but when I play against my friends on the Xbox I normally get stomped in sniper vs. sniper. However, if I use a bolt action with a 10 sensitivity, I can do well a much larger number of games. I think this is because drag scoping (which is 100% necessary on PC because quick scopes don't work) is all about timing, and that timing transfers well to a high sensitivity.

@nickthegreat700 You see the keyboard you were just typing on? That's what all PC gamers have to their benefit. And we can customize which button does what function. It just takes a considerable amount of effort to become a proficient PC player. In fact it takes so long that the lines of your progression blurs. Also, mice do not have the same deadspots that the joysticks on your controller have to deal with, we can turn much more quickly and accurately because of it.

I don't necessarily think PC is harder, it just takes A LOT more time to get used to than using a controller on console. I've been gaming on PC for 7 years now, so when I play CoD on PC I just absolutely wreck kids easily maintaining a 3+ K/D if I were to tryhard every game.
My opinion is that pc is easier, ive been playing cod on xbox, ps3 and pc yet i find pc easier. i get moabs on pc and i havent manage to do that on xbox nor ps3.
i agree with ernest though because the skill that console players have, theyre only really good because the buttons that they have are closely compacted together allowing them to be fast and agile with their moves because it doesnt take alot of movement, where as keyboards tend to have you moving your arms around more and if your doing that fast enough with alot of skill then yeah your basically got the shit sussed(:

The way I look at it, A PC player comes over to console he will get trashed. Console player comes to PC he gets pwned. It's really all based on the controller to KB&M

If you put someone who has played Xbox in the PC game, they will probably get some kills because everyone can work with the mouse. On Xbox or PS3, it might be that you think you're good, but that's also because not everyone can use the console that good. On PC, everyone can use it.
Another thing, if you look at what game attracts the "best" FPS-players on consol I'd say it's divided between MW3 and Halo Reach. But if you look on PC, I highly doubt that a lot of the best FPS-players even own MW3, they're either playing BF3, CS, TF2 etc. Basically, on console MW3 is THE game to be good at, on PC not so much...
I'm sick of console players dissmising great PC players like Orb just because "Its PC, its easy". If you think you could be a better player on PC, why don't you play on PC? Instead you just make excuses.

@MrWreckoner I haven't seen a cheater in MW3 for more than a month. In late November and in December, there was a lot of them, but the problem was fixed.
The thing is, people know there are hacks for PC which is why they think every player better than them is hacking.

And of course a lot of people blame on hacks when they get pooped on, even though they are legitimate players. For me it doesn't matter if it's very common or if it's a rare occurrence, I just don't want to deal with cheaters at all, or as little as possible and console is the way to go for me.

I'm only going to say this. PC has a higher ceiling in terms of what you can do in game, but in order to reach that ceiling you have to put in alot of work and you have to have certain physical charactersitcs (reflexes, hand-eye coordination, finger coordination).
There are some things that you can do on PC that you can't do on consoles. That's why PC IS a superior gaming platform. And just because you prefer a controler or if you don't realize a great PC costs only around 500, don't hate on PC
Right on the money. You could never dominate as much on console as on PC because there isn't enough skill to learn. Also, there is more technical differences on PC which can improve your gaming, there's a lot of gaming equipment available on PC and on console it's pretty much only your monitor, sure there's some controllers and what not but it's no way near the PC market.

I totally agree on the skill gap thing. My aim is not good on PC however I have great map knowledge for MW3 (Same level as "good" players) and literally got 5 MOABs in 3 hours of livestreaming MW3 on PC. Of course that isn't as good as Orb or TBNRfrags but I rocked an amazing 11% accuracy and played solo. Also console gamers play like bitches and camp with assassin :(

One correction Ernest: the skill gap is bigger on Xbox than PC because on consoles you have players who play the game every day and you have a TON of players who play a couple times a month, or are under 12 years old or just downright suck at the game. Which meants that if you're an average player you will do better on console.
But I agree that if you're really great on PC (great reflexes, map knowledge...) you will dominate. But people like Orb and Frag are very rare, so... not a skill gap
I remember playing Max Payne 2: Fall of Max Payne on PC and I would say That I can't imagine playing that on the Ps2. It just played to naturally and fluid. But I would need to play it on PS2 just to be sure. But i'm just saying PC is better than consoles. Just saying. Maybe my opinion will change later on.
The skill gap is bigger, you have so much more control on PC. There's a bigger margin for error while aiming with the mouse, as well as being fluid with the keyboard.
haha I have mw3 for pc, played it once... pc players are too good for me and I realize that so why bring a team down? I play mw3 for xbox where I'm comfortable with a controller. I'll stick to playing games like borderlands, fallout, skyrim etcetc on pc and multiplayer games like cod, halo on the sticks

i wouldnt say you cant compare them. the only difference is the ability to aim and sensitivites and aim assist vs none and stuff like that. and aim is only a small part of CoD, its more about map knowlege and flanking, headglitching and so on. those things are the same on any platform. also when you say there is always someone as good or better than you, i wouldnt agree. guys like fear crads can go into 99% of console lobbies and be mvp every game.
@MrErnestLe yes i did. having better aim helps you win even gunfights. but you dont want to get into those regardless and if thats all you do, your going to die occaisonally regardless of your aim. players are good because they find ways to always shoot people in the back or side, or have more cover than the enemies do. all you need to get those kills is to have decent enough aim to not get turned on.
I was basically the best player on the Wii (I mean obviously not, but stats show so) and now I've got an Xbox and my K/D is only 1.75 or so. Bearing in mind that Wii - Black Ops and Xbox - MW3. I totally agree with you, that there is a bigger "learning curve" on PC. When I play PC new pc games, I find that it takes me longer to get better if i were to be playing them on their console counter part. However, I'm very interested in CS:GO launch as it will have cross-platform (PS3 users going against PC users). I've seen people use XBox controllers on PC as it's their preferred style, but they'll never be able to compete with the KB+M. If you were to try and use a controller in Promod, you'd probably get shit all over. MW3 doesn't have gamepad support on PC anyways though.

What the fuck do you mean by skill? If you apply the same tactics and playstyle to console you're gonna play good. Nothing needs more skill, it's the same fucking game, you can't do more on pc then on consoles. It's all the same, how you play it makes you skilled, not the goddamn platform you're on, ofcourse you need a good team sometimes but that applies on all platforms, a good team on PC can help you and a good team on PS3/Xbox can help, nothing takes more skill then the other, nobody is bet

If you put someone who has played Xbox in the PC game, they will probably get some kills because everyone can work with the mouse. That's what makes PC gaming so much harder, you don't need skill, you just wave your hand around and shoot when you see someone walking by. On Xbox or PS3, it might be that you think you're good, but that's also because not everyone can use the console that good. On PC, everyone can use it.

Another thing, if you look at what game attracts the "best" FPS-players on consol I'd say it's divided between MW3 and Halo Reach. But if you look on PC, I highly doubt that a lot of the best FPS-players even own MW3, they're either playing BF3, CS, TF2 etc. Basically, on console MW3 is THE game to be good at, on PC not so much...

I'm sick of console players dissmising great PC players like Orb just because "Its PC, its easy". If you think you could be a better player on PC, why don't you play on PC? Instead you just make excuses.

I'm only going to say this. PC has a higher ceiling in terms of what you can do in game, but in order to reach that ceiling you have to put in alot of work and you have to have certain physical charactersitcs (reflexes, hand-eye coordination, finger coordination).
There are some things that you can do on PC that you can't do on consoles. That's why PC IS a superior gaming platform. And just because you prefer a controler or if you don't realize a great PC costs only around 500, don't hate on PC

Right on the money. You could never dominate as much on console as on PC because there isn't enough skill to learn. Also, there is more technical differences on PC which can improve your gaming, there's a lot of gaming equipment available on PC and on console it's pretty much only your monitor, sure there's some controllers and what not but it's no way near the PC market.

I totally agree on the skill gap thing. My aim is not good on PC however I have great map knowledge for MW3 (Same level as "good" players) and literally got 5 MOABs in 3 hours of livestreaming MW3 on PC. Of course that isn't as good as Orb or TBNRfrags but I rocked an amazing 11% accuracy and played solo. Also console gamers play like bitches and camp with assassin :(

One correction Ernest: the skill gap is bigger on Xbox than PC because on consoles you have players who play the game every day and you have a TON of players who play a couple times a month, or are under 12 years old or just downright suck at the game. Which meants that if you're an average player you will do better on console.
But I agree that if you're really great on PC (great reflexes, map knowledge...) you will dominate. But people like Orb and Frag are very rare, so... not a skill gap

I remember playing Max Payne 2: Fall of Max Payne on PC and I would say That I can't imagine playing that on the Ps2. It just played to naturally and fluid. i wouldnt say you cant compare them. the only difference is the ability to aim and sensitivites and aim assist vs none and stuff like that. and aim is only a small part of CoD, its more about map knowlege and flanking, headglitching and so on. those things are the same on any platform. also when you say there is always someone as good or better than you, i wouldnt agree. guys like fear crads can go into 99% of console lobbies and be mvp every game.

I totally agree with you, that there is a bigger "learning curve" on PC. When I play PC new pc games, I find that it takes me longer to get better if i were to be playing them on their console counter part. I've seen people use XBox controllers on PC as it's their preferred style, but they'll never be able to compete with the KB+M. If you were to try and use a controller in Promod, you'd probably get shit all over. MW3 doesn't have gamepad support on PC anyways though.
