  • my boyfriend told me this song was written about me :) he introduced me to pete & pete, and i haven't found a show that i love more. i really miss my childhood. the '90's were the absolute best <3

  • time for some dinosaur jr!

  • Who in their right mind would dislike this? Honestly.

  • damn this makes me think of that episode of pete and pete "the day of the Dot" when pete kisses ellen for the first time

  • i am burst into tears what a great song

  • in the 90s i remember Clerks I, Pete & Pete, grunge (much to my amusement), and how much different things were then. it all seemed it was meant to be in black and white

  • this is going to be our first dance song at our wedding next month <3 so lovely

  • I actually had this promotional cassette tape from buying Mini-Wheats. Man, I miss the 90's. Being an adult suuuuuuuucks.

  • damn i love this show, simpler times for me. summer of 96, watching this then hanging out with my cousins, riding our bikes everywhere, fighting other neighborhood kids, making forts in the park.

  • *Walks down a suburban street, narrating as the credits begin to roll*

  • Oh, the Ellen/Big!Pete theme!

  • Better times.Better times......

  • A perfect portrait of beauty of confusion.

  • So epic yet so simple to play. I can't resist to love this song.

  • 1 person is an iCarly fan.

  • one person doesn't know "her"

  • pete and pete is one of those things that when i see/hear it it, it like drops my heart and stomach out like in an elevator, but in a good way, to the past

  • Miss the 90's man.

  • 1 person was bear up by Artie.

  • me and my buddy 20 years old tripping so hard and geekin to this music and pete and pete. that was a great time in my life ahh if i could only get those back what would be different today

  • This brings back the memories of how simple it used to be when I was young..

  • I miss the 90's so much...

  • i gues one part of the pete&pete greatness was that it taught you how to enjoy songs like this ;))

laid back , not a tought outside of the musical parameters :))

to this day it's the greatest relaxation technique i know :D

  • I would Kill to be

    One Week in the 90s

    Just Watching TV and

    Playing 64

    I miss that Kid

  • @Alann4stars Now in 2010, kids are watching reality TV, playing PS3 online talking like a immature douchebag.

  • @Alann4stars Same but:

    80's

    Just watching Care Bears 2

    And playing 8-bit Nintendo

I miss that kid as well

See, it happens in every generation, though I also miss Pete & Pete from my older childhood.

  • @Alann4stars I'll take that even further back, just a bit...

playing NES and SEGA (late 80s and early 90s, respectively)

  • @Alann4stars The 80's screwed up because we all know Marty McFly had to stay on some train tracks with the time machine, BOOM came a train, BAM a time machine to go back to the 90's destroyed.

  • 1 Guy could not enjoy the 90s.

  • @TheCarlosTest No he was probably born in 2000 and just does not understand the 90's.

  • the 90s was the best decade ever !

  • Man i think i was 9 or 10 when i first watched Pete and Pete. I've never been to the US but this tv series certainly made it look like heaven. :)

  • Pete and Ellen's song for sure. This song is like a little time capsule to my child hood :)

  • the 90's. wild

  • It's alot like Summerbaby because the first time you hear it you just think, fuck.... this is my very favorite song in the world.... you could go mad trying to find this feeling again.

  • I learned the lyrics by heart the first time I heard it.

  • Fuck this is a great song.. it speaks to me about my beautiful girl... and shit Mark if you ever seen this I am so so very very sorry that your woman died.... I can never express my sadness for you and I empathize with you.... Luckily for me I am sick and dying and I will die before my woman, and though it will hurt her and my family, I will be free, and I cannot help it anyway...

Fuck..... this song will be forever embedded in my soul.

  • @BaronVonGodzilla

Man agree, and also that guitar line with that chorus pedal, transport you into the song.

  • This song is sooo great.

  • i need to thank you for putting this stuff up. it really does like throw me back a decade or so. its great

  • The best reason ever to eat Frosted Mini Wheats.

  • this song use to make me cry

  • My Childhood is Missing and I cant Find it....... Wait I just found it in this fuckin Song Man Pete and Pete was truly a show to grow up on taught me some Life Lessons even when I didnt even know it man Nick is such a Joke now I want the 90s back so bad just to see this show on T.V 1 more time

  • @Ramonesfan990 I would do anything to go back

  • @goldsmice

I totally want a time machine. 90s was the best time to grow up.

  • @Ieatbabyseals: like hell it was. I loved Nirvana, and it broke me up when Kurt Cobain died; and then 'nu metal' came along and reduced your average teenager's IQ by twenty points. Nickelodeon had good shows, mind.

  • @RHutton2710

Eh, I totally loved nick though...That's mostly the reason why I want a time machine. Just so I can go back and enjoy the suburbs, and kids shows of my generation.

  • I love this song! thanks for posting this.

  • Reminds me of a college crush I had...and still do.

  • I remember this song playing in the background at almost every tounching moment of this show, I just love it.

  • My favorite song from the show. :) I wish more '90s Nick shows were being syndicated on one of the Nick-related channels, like Noggin.

  • THIS SONGS MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER[:

  • A very sweet and innocent song. It was usually the soundtrack to a Big Pete/Ellen episode. In the two episodes where they actually kiss ("Day of the Dot" and "Time Tunnel"), this song plays during the end credits.

  • It's weird how a song can sound like your childhood.

  • use to think this about my ex. Then college ended and shit hit the fan =/

  • best slow dance song

  • This is the kind of song I wish a guy would sing about me...

  • @itodajunko some guy will give it time you deserve it after all

  • I miss that show so much!

  • Absolutely legendary. The show and the music. After we all inevitably murder one another in some sort of armageddon, this show should be what's left for humans to be remembered by.

  • Quite simply this show was THE best kid/teenage show ever to be on TV - and this unbelievable soundtrack was a big part of what made it so great.

  • being a 90's baby with pete and pete in my dvd player and THE POLARIS TAPE I GOT IN A CERIAL BOX still here i agree

  • Everything now sucks, when it comes to forms of entertainment for kids. Everything is totally dumbed down; it's totally insulting to the intelligence of kids (kids are way smarter than most people think, and more perceptive than most adults.) There are no shows with any kind of artistry to them, like Pete and Pete; all the cartoons suck too.

  • Usually ends of decades always suck, people are tired with the fads, fashions, shows, films. Time to move on to another decade, here's hoping it brings some awesome fads.

If you notice most decades usually copy the decade 20-30 years before it. The 80s was a lot like a reinvention of the 50s, 90s was a lot like the 60s and 70s. This decade is kind of like the late 70s-mid 80s, except a lame version of it. So what's next after that? a reinvention of the 90s, I think the 2010s will be very 90s.

  • Considering what a great decade the 90's were, we can only hope :P.

  • @Sshelly34213 You nailed it. As every generation comes of age, they collectively bring about a recycling of the decade they grew up in. It's the philosophy behind what we're doing on our channel...

  • @Internetclub91 Indeed! I personally would like to wear more fashions similar to the 90s, listen to music similar to that of 90s music. I feel as if I will inevitably bring back 90s fads.

I have a theory that whatever you hear/see as a young child from ages 5-8, is what inevitably shapes your psyche. If you were 5-8 during 90s culture, pure 90s culture and not millennium or a mixture of late 80s/early 90s culture, your psyche was shaped by it. (Grunge, cartoons, attitude, the fashion etc...)

  • @Internetclub91 The people who are currently in charge of what fads teens/kids experience were 5-8 during the 70s and 80s. Transformers was a popular tv show in the 80s and has been brought back in the 00s. flare jeans were popular in the 70s and were brought back in the late 90s. Since then skinny jeans have been brought back.

I'm not sure what the next decade will bring considering that the 90s was a mixture of the culture of many decades.

  • @Sshelly34213 I'm 26 years old, so I'm right there with the late 80s/early 90s nostalgia. We could probably say the 2010s will completely reconsume the 90s, leading up to a Y2K nostalgia around 2020. But who really knows what the grungebags of the future will do.

  • @kkocses I was born in 88, so I don't really remember the late 80s, but I do remember the early to mid 90s.

I have a feeling it will make a comeback, decades always do.

  • @Sshelly34213 when we're all living in space and it seems that the fashion might be uniform unitards that are all different colors designating our function or trade, plaid shirts fit jeans and cheesy brand names will make a comeback

  • @hahahahaha23 lol that would be awesome!

  • @goldsmice wow, i totally agree with you. it really bothers how people seem to have come to think that kids are stupid and need to be talked down to. These older shows dared to have kids who dared to stand out and had big words and complex stories, its just so.... kinda makes me feel the generation who is growing up dumbed down

  • You got a tape in a cereal box? you lucky bastard

  • @funniedoug03 I STILL HAVE THAT TAPE !!!! <3<3<3<3<3<3 im so glad someone else remembers it!

  • @goldsmice and you're simply so absolutely right. This tv show was all of us in a certain time of our lives.

  • @goldsmice This is for anybody. I appreciate it much more as an adult.

  • She Is Staggering.....♥

  • The flute is so cool and unexpected!!

  • Not sure what instrument it is, but I can say that it's NOT a flute.

It might be related though, or... Not. It could be played on a synthesizer for all I know. xD

  • @Shiek927

Yeah, the flute is a good touch for the song.

  • I cried.

  • I once wrote a short story for a creative writing class in HS that was heavily based on "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" and got an A. So I will have to second

MPHswayze's suggestion that you knock off Pete and Pete and you will get what you want.

  • Can you get this song without lyrics like they play it on Pete and Pete?

  • i used this fuckin awesome song in a video i made for video production class in HS

i used a ginger from my class and a redheaded freshman kid, starring as two brothers who travel back in time during daylight savings

    lesson of the story:

rip off pete and pete, get an A on your final

pete and pete for tha kids!

  • How about you upload that!

  • haha Why didn't I do that in high school?

  • love this song

    love Pete & Pete

  • this album is truly one of the greatest of all time.

  • love this song, use to see pete&pete when I lived in belizecity. I'm from spain thought. makes me cry..

    :)

  • it´s weird to listen the other half of the song, cause in the show they only out the first half....this stuff rocks !!!

  • does anyone kno the other song in pete and pete that plays when its a sad part. it has harmonica in it and sad sounding. i just wanna kno cuz that song makes me cry when i hear it and its so good. =')...

  • makes me cry to man

  • Same, makes me cry such a good show!

  • The song is called "Everywhere"

  • @chicoart99 You're not the only dude. I'd like to go back right now.

  • @chicoart99 I do too, but then I remember Biodome. no need to relive that.
