Doesn't work for me I got a Compaq Presario CQ62, with an Intel Celeron 900 Processor, and I've watched and followed 50+ videos on Youtube, and went to every post on OSX86, and dual booting doesn't work for me. Either Mac OS X won't boot, or I have to have the Install disc in the drive to boot, but only boots to installation or my computer makes a loud beeping.
After Installing I remarked that OS X doesent work and windows wont boot, so i erased the partition with SL installed and exited installer. Now i get a BOOTMGR is missing error. Please tell me how to solve. Startup repair doesent work!
I successfully installed windows and split the hard drive.
I'm using Leo4allv3 and when i want to erase the hard drive that doesn't have windows on it, it says "this volume will not be erased" in the partition tab.

@alterIWnetChallenge just go to thepiratebay(.)com and download via Torrent Windows 7 Ultimate ether 32 or 64bit which ever you have right now. It will download as an ISO file so burn the ISO with a compatible ISO burning program. With the disk now burned you will be able to fix windows when it first boots up from the install disk u just burned.
@alterIWnetChallenge go to the pirate bay and search "windows 7 64 home premium" or whatever version you have and if u have 64 and 32. and then burn that iso to a disc. and then boot from it by selecting cd / dvd in boot device. hope i helped :)!

@funnystuffgreat Then try another bootloader.... try Pirate EFI-X v2 (google search it) or the best one right now "iBoot v3.1.2" bootloaders from tommymacx86(.)com and also once installed download "Multibeast" from the same website... read the page it clearly states all the steps to succeed in installation... a little hint, if booting with iBoot it will go into verbose and pay good attention of what the iBoot loader is loading temperately because these same kexts are the once from Multibeast...
Because if iBoot which you will need to boot again after a clean install of SL in order to boot into SL. if almost all the main hardware is working out of the box, these are the same kexts that you will need to install from Multibeast so your pc can work almost complete. take notes. I used iBoot to install SL on a Gateway T-series and its a Macbook Pro 99% perfect. updated to 10.6.8 with 2 finger scroll trackpad and HD sound & full graphics with Airport Extreme wifi card!
I've got a Dell Latitude D531, SB600, TurionX2 AMD cpu and I keep getting a kernel panic on boot. IOATAFAMILY.kext... I've done like 9 fresh installs using the Hazard 10.6.2 Distro and no combonation of using the patches or deleting kext has worked so far... I'm confused because I used to have a iDeneb 10.5.8 working very stable, but I had to reformat my HDD because i accidently set it in raid while making a partition. iDeneb doesn't work either(disk errors)... what should I do? Advice plz...

ok, i did everything u did, i didn't have i distro, my windows boot-loader shows the MAC OS X as a boot-able medium. But when i choose it the apple screen flashes for like a fraction of a second then my whole PC restarts!!! If you or anybody else could give some help or advice it would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

If you just check your email and don't actually "Use" your PC- then yes..Windows 7 is "the OS to use". However I use my PC's for Work and Home. XP is STILL proving the outshine ANY Microsoft OS from before till 2011.. XP can do same that win 7 can do with 1/4 of the RAM. XP runs ANYTHING- WIn 7 REFUSES to run many PC's Hardware and Programs. @CuteCoreKid Well it actually very easy on laptops, I haven't tried it on my Desktop cause Im waiting for my new mobo to arrived.. You do have all the right spec's except that your on AMD instead of Intel cpu. For that you have no choice but to try a distro installation disk that would work for you which is more buggy & not retail OS that would work fine on Intel cpu's. I made a video showing OS 10.6.4 dual boot ofcourse with Windows 7 showing the iCandy of OS SL on my Asus G2S gaming laptop!
Installing OS on PC is more easier on a unlock mobo that is freely of tweaks & OC'ing suck as Asus, MSI or alike gaming mobo's. I found the perfect site or blog in which explain in great detail how to dual boot, what to use, and how to set it up perfect even to fix the time clock on both OS to sync cause it will give you the wrong time on any OS if not configured right on the registry & many people skip this at the end. Takes practice and lots of common sense to figure out how OS works inside!
One last thing, this is the first and most important step in making OS to start installing on a PC. You must definitely format your whole drive in GUID (GPT) format first using Utilities once on the OS installation process. Then split it in 2 partitions, one for OS in GPT and the other in FAT32 format for Windows. You CANNOT partition space in the same windows installation if Windows is already installed. OS ask that the HD is in GPT or it will NOT install. So yes, u all must back up everything!

@CuteCoreKid Mac doesnt support AMD processors, i have the same problem i have AMD phenom 2 x4 940 black edition, i heard you can now do it on AMD processors but with certain software i haven't got it to work yet though.

I installed Snow Leopard on my Sony VPCEE21FX that has an AMD Athlon II X2 P320 processor (2.10GHz ) 3 Gigs DDR3 1066Mhz RAM 64 Bit OS an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4250 Graphics card .i managed to install the OSx and it works alittle choppy,not horrible or not enough to make me want to install 7 again and the resolution is at 1024x768 and no other option to change it to 1920x1080 and also i have no internet connectability wither wireless or ether net.can anyone help with these issues thnxs

@HELLPINAVENGER when in windows, right click on my computer > manage
then click on disk management > right click on the blue bar down the bottom FOR C > shrink volume. shrink it by how big u want it for mac os x. (i did 40gb)
now right click on the unallocated space > new simple volume. and just go through that.
now you have partitioned your hdd and you can do what he does in the video. (i know you asked that 3 months ago but this is for everyone else)

@v8assshit nearly that simple, if you have a distro like iatkos or hazard then insert it on startup and go through the installation (MAKE SURE YOU GO INTO CUSTOMIZE and pick what u need) then install. if there is no disk there when it asks you what hard drive to install on, go to utilities > disk management > then click on the partition and go to erase and select to format to mac os x extended (journaled) and click erase. now you can install on that disk. if it is a retail u need boot disk.
@chewyourfingers Its not that hard. The thing is, that the videomaker, had a fresh formated Harddrive, and installed both OS. For us who already have a windows copy on the harddrive, can make the partition from windows and formate that partition, and therefor just put in the mac cd and istall it.
You can partion your disc from start - right click on computer - manage. And from there go to disk managment, and choose your drive, and partion it (split it) so you have room to install OS x

@funnystuffgreat Then try another bootloader.... try Pirate EFI-X v2 (google search it) or the best one right now "iBoot v3.1.2" bootloaders from tommymacx86(.)com and also once installed download "Multibeast" from the same website... read the page it clearly states all the steps to succeed in installation... a little hint, if booting with iBoot it will go into verbose and pay good attention of what the iBoot loader is loading temperately because these same kexts are the once from Multibeast...

Because if iBoot which you will need to boot again after a clean install of SL in order to boot into SL. if almost all the main hardware is working out of the box, these are the same kexts that you will need to install from Multibeast so your pc can work almost complete. take notes. I used iBoot to install SL on a Gateway T-series and its a Macbook Pro 99% perfect. updated to 10.6.8 with 2 finger scroll trackpad and HD sound & full graphics with Airport Extreme wifi card!

I've got a Dell Latitude D531, SB600, TurionX2 AMD cpu and I keep getting a kernel panic on boot. IOATAFAMILY.kext... I've done like 9 fresh installs using the Hazard 10.6.2 Distro and no combonation of using the patches or deleting kext has worked so far... I'm confused because I used to have a iDeneb 10.5.8 working very stable, but I had to reformat my HDD because i accidently set it in raid while making a partition. iDeneb doesn't work either(disk errors)... what should I do? Advice plz...

ok, i did everything u did, i didn't have i distro, my windows boot-loader shows the MAC OS X as a boot-able medium. But when i choose it the apple screen flashes for like a fraction of a second then my whole PC restarts!!! If you or anybody else could give some help or advice it would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

If you just check your email and don't actually "Use" your PC- then yes..Windows 7 is "the OS to use". However I use my PC's for Work and Home. @CuteCoreKid Well it actually very easy on laptops, I haven't tried it on my Desktop cause Im waiting for my new mobo to arrived.. You do have all the right spec's except that your on AMD instead of Intel cpu. For that you have no choice but to try a distro installation disk that would work for you which is more buggy & not retail OS that would work fine on Intel cpu's. I made a video showing OS 10.6.4 dual boot ofcourse with Windows 7 showing the iCandy of OS SL on my Asus G2S gaming laptop!

Installing OS on PC is more easier on a unlock mobo that is freely of tweaks & OC'ing suck as Asus, MSI or alike gaming mobo's. I found the perfect site or blog in which explain in great detail how to dual boot, what to use, and how to set it up perfect even to fix the time clock on both OS to sync cause it will give you the wrong time on any OS if not configured right on the registry & many people skip this at the end. Takes practice and lots of common sense to figure out how OS works inside!

One last thing, this is the first and most important step in making OS to start installing on a PC. You must definitely format your whole drive in GUID (GPT) format first using Utilities once on the OS installation process. Then split it in 2 partitions, one for OS in GPT and the other in FAT32 format for Windows. You CANNOT partition space in the same windows installation if Windows is already installed. OS ask that the HD is in GPT or it will NOT install. So yes, u all must back up everything!

AMD Processors need an addition Kernel kext directly bult in to the Install CD
and it would be better, if you remove 2 sticks of that ram, so you have just 4gigs while the installation...

i want to install leopard so i downloaded it and when i test the .iso file on virtualbox it just boot and installs but if i use easy bcd and let it boot from the iso file when i stratup my pc i get something like grub....
and then it wont boot , i have to give a command or something so i typed boot , its says kernel must be loaded , so i typed mach_kernel , and it says such no command .... please help

I installed Snow Leopard on my Sony VPCEE21FX that has an AMD Athlon II X2 P320 processor (2.10GHz ) 3 Gigs DDR3 1066Mhz RAM 64 Bit OS an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4250 Graphics card .i managed to install the OSx and it works alittle choppy,not horrible or not enough to make me want to install 7 again and the resolution is at 1024x768 and no other option to change it to 1920x1080 and also i have no internet connectability wither wireless or ether net.can anyone help with these issues thnxs

@HELLPINAVENGER when in windows, right click on my computer > manage
then click on disk management > right click on the blue bar down the bottom FOR C > shrink volume. shrink it by how big u want it for mac os x. (i did 40gb)
now right click on the unallocated space > new simple volume. and just go through that.
now you have partitioned your hdd and you can do what he does in the video. (i know you asked that 3 months ago but this is for everyone else)

@kingofvideo101 so your saying i can partition my hard drive like u said above, then i could just simply insert the mac osx snow leopard dvd then install it on the partitioned hard drive i made. is that simple?

@v8assshit nearly that simple, if you have a distro like iatkos or hazard then insert it on startup and go through the installation (MAKE SURE YOU GO INTO CUSTOMIZE and pick what u need) then install. if there is no disk there when it asks you what hard drive to install on, go to utilities > disk management > then click on the partition and go to erase and select to format to mac os x extended (journaled) and click erase. now you can install on that disk. if it is a retail u need boot disk.

@chewyourfingers Its not that hard. The thing is, that the videomaker, had a fresh formated Harddrive, and installed both OS. For us who already have a windows copy on the harddrive, can make the partition from windows and formate that partition, and therefor just put in the mac cd and istall it.
You can partion your disc from start - right click on computer - manage. And from there go to disk managment, and choose your drive, and partion it (split it) so you have room to install OS x
