  • And the rest of you would also learn why can cannot mate with pan or gorilla. And we wonder we've fallen so far behind in the sciences. Oy.

  • @markinu : Because the chromosome separated at the centromere - derp! Take a genetic (or even biology 101) and you'll understand how that works.

  • We're so close that we could breed with each other if we we're attracted to chimps, we could make a Humanzee or a Chuman. If those hybrids weren't sterile, we could breed them to make a Manpanzee or a Chumanzee.

  • We can't breed with them. 5 million years is a long time to be able to breed.

  • That assumption is wrong! Obviously!

  • thing is simple, we share more genetical information with chimps than zebras with horses, yet zebras and horses can mate... therefore humans and chimps are probably the closest relatives. Aso means we can mate with gorillas XP

  • they have an extra chromosome, how could they be paired?

  • anybody have tried to mate with chimps? should try one

  • actually that's not true at all.

  • diamond ^^

gravitationalist really makes it easier to gain basic knowledge of science.
