It's been more than 10 year since a a quake bigger than a 4 and "the big one" is expected to hit within the next 30 years and sure it's a big time frame but it could happen tomorrow and we were well overdue for a wakeup call. I wasn't that phased with this quake neither but I couldn't help stressing over the possibility that a larger one could hit and when it does it's going to be big. San Francisco had one in 1906 but SOCAL has not had one for at least 300 years.
