this is my favorite Zelda game. of course all the others were great, but i love this game. it had a good story to it, and i thought the ending was kinda sad. i remember being so excited about this game i beat it in two weeks, that may not be much to a lot of people but considering i usually take a month or two to finish a game that was fast lol. imo the Zelda games only keep getting better and better the story was really good, and great graphics :) and fun to play. so this is my fav so far
Twilight princess didn't have the really strong and climactic pacing and storytelling of past Zeldas. And Aonuma and Miyamoto know, which is why they've been trying so hard to make Skyward sword a more dense tightly packaged game. I consider TP a sort of oddball for Zelda games, it wasn't a true Zelda game as the creators wanted....it was just a nostalgia fest meant to satisfy only the fans of OoT. Skyward Sword looks to be an amazing return to greatness.
Beta stuff looks way cooler... I got a TP beta poster when I bought a Zelda game, and it looks like it would of been better... But I guess TP is still fun the way it is.
Twilight Princess and Wind Waker were my 2 favorite Zelda games. Wind Waker had that awesome cartoony style and Twilight Princess has the cool detailed style.

the first time i saw this (age 13) i was like: "holy shit, there is going to be a war in hyrule!" alas, no, still a zelda game. and did they pull it off? hells yeah. my only gripe is that they ditched the forest....i want to walk between the trees!
After I retrieved the sword in the game, I could here the Orks (or whatever the green things are) and I looked up in the forest and saw at least two of them shooting at me. Maybe it was something they forgot to delete and showed up when my game glitched from this scene 00:37 .And I'm not making it up, it happened once, and the game wouldn't turn off so I had to unplug it. But it only happened once, so I don't know what it was.
I'd like to see how this game would have turned out, Twilight Princess is completely different than this. I loved it, don't get me wrong though. This actually looks more like an updated OoT than anything, they even have the same voice for Link. But oh well, at least we have OoT coming out for the 3DS

@HxoxSASUKE cmon! twilight princess was awesome! yeah..it was a bit too easy. but there were alot of great puzzles, temples and exploration. and the story was just terrific as well as the execution of the cutscenes.

@tarkeke apparently they left out a forest segment along with a pet sidequest and also they left out a part of the spider boss (in one the trailers there's a segment where you have to run away from her in a cavern) I still adore this game, and I think people really should appreciate tp for what it is, sure they ditched some earlier stuff but they added new stuff which probably were for the better

I remember seeing this many years ago. Someone had a camera in there and they were filming the trailer off the screen, and as soon as the shot of Link at 0:22 came up the whole room just EXPLODED. It was amazing.
like i was really curious about that weird thing in the forest at 0:40, and not to mention the forests actually look like forests that don't have any visible barriers which i really wish they would've kept :P
the game in this preview is the one in japan, I've played it before. The American version is a little bit better i think, but the japan one has a bigger kingdom so there both good :)
Beta Gohma looked a lot creepier than Armogohma. The original Beta Gohma was fought in a valley-like setting where you were to run from the enemy and then attack.
his voice is a lot deeper in the game and it looks different. and no u dont attack the army shown at those certain places. my guess is that they were still in the process of makin the game and they had to work with what they had b4 the game was completed to make this trailer. but almost none of that was really in the game or looked like it
Yeah, that was a disappointing, but now at least we know that the Zelda team has been working deeply in the game for at least 1 year :D So if they make a trailer we'll be able to see pretty much all the things that will make it into the game :D
@bebecaroleeen at this point in the game there was no story i dont think. They started developing a windwaker 2 with cel shaded graphics, then Aunoma was like "fuck this shit, realistic zelda ftw, that is what people want". So then shiguru and the team started work on realistic graphics, this was shown 4 months after lol.
this trailer is nothing like the game now becouse links voice is from Oot (all you who are still trying to figure out what Oot means it stands for Ocarina Of Time) an did you notice that it didnt show midna or links wolf formation. Obviously they where still in development at the time.
I first saw this on 'Youtube' before the game came out. Then a DVD disc came free in a Nintendo magazine and I nearly wore it out watching it. Brilliant demo of a brilliant game. :o)
I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you want good games on the Wii, stop being so nittpicky and support the solid titles, or else we'll live to see a sequel to Chicken Shoot 2
The way I look at it is....I could spend 50 dollars for an incredible Wii game with over 30 hours of gameplay, or 60 on High School Musical 3 with mic, also for Wii. So no matter how up to its expectations you believed it did or didn't perform, think about that.
When I first saw this trailer I was like "This is going to be the greatest Zelda game ever". But when I played it it wasn't as good as I thought it was.
Hype is the leading factor in disappointment with a game/movie/tv show etc. Hype is the build up of excitement so that your expectations grow to such an unimaginable height, that the game has no way of living up to your expectations. It wasn't as good as you thought because your expectations were too high.
At first, I was hyped when the first trailer came out, after the second I was more hyped, after the third I started to get tired of all the delays and stuff. I bought the game a few months after its release date since I didn't really care about it for a while
Not saying that its a bad Zelda game, but personally I think they could have done a better job, Hyrule field seems like going into a straight path, little side quests and once u finish one temple, u quickly go to the next.
Honestly, I don't see how OOT is better than TP. Don't get me wrong, OOT is an amazing game, but TP makes so many improvements over it, it doesn't make any sense that people say TP is inferior. Everything made great in OOT has been perfected in TP. Sword gameplay, projectile aiming, horseback gameplay, fishing, it's all been improved. In fact, 90% of the complaints I hear about TP are either nitpicky, the player's own fault, or simply untrue.
man, remember watching this trailer literally hundreds of times... giving me the same fuzzy feeling now as it did all those times... only now not having that excruciating feeling of knowing i didnt have the game, and wouldnt for a while. now iv played, enjoyed and finished it, it still makes me feel good, however this trailer showed something with potential to beat Oot as best game ever, which tp didnt to my sincerest regrets...
It's interesting to see the enemies that appear in this trailer. One of them (with the mace) had the stance and attack of the large moblins from Wind Waker, whereas the lizard warriors from Ocarina of Time appear too.
If only we got those removed forest areas, and awesome sunset.... Nope, we get yifftastic bullshit gimmicks, and something even worse than Navi; a pregnant looking bitch.

In some ways, I prefer the way the Beta version looks in that the woods are actual open spaces and such. A lot of the time there's always only one path to choose in places like woods in the Zelda games.
I think the story for this game could have been a little better. Its still a great story and game though. I loved every moment of the game. They should do another game bringing back the hero of time.
I also felt that the story was a disappointment, and more importantly the game lacked an epic feel. Most of the time you felt like you were playing a side story. Still a great game though. Great art design in particular.

@bebecaroleeen at this point in the game there was no story i dont think. They started developing a windwaker 2 with cel shaded graphics, then Aunoma was like "fuck this shit, realistic zelda ftw, that is what people want". So then shiguru and the team started work on realistic graphics, this was shown 4 months after lol.

this trailer is nothing like the game now becouse links voice is from Oot (all you who are still trying to figure out what Oot means it stands for Ocarina Of Time) an did you notice that it didnt show midna or links wolf formation. Obviously they where still in development at the time.

I first saw this on 'Youtube' before the game came out. Then a DVD disc came free in a Nintendo magazine and I nearly wore it out watching it. Brilliant demo of a brilliant game. :o)

The way I look at it is....I could spend 50 dollars for an incredible Wii game with over 30 hours of gameplay, or 60 on High School Musical 3 with mic, also for Wii. So no matter how up to its expectations you believed it did or didn't perform, think about that.

Hype is the leading factor in disappointment with a game/movie/tv show etc. Hype is the build up of excitement so that your expectations grow to such an unimaginable height, that the game has no way of living up to your expectations. It wasn't as good as you thought because your expectations were too high.

At first, I was hyped when the first trailer came out, after the second I was more hyped, after the third I started to get tired of all the delays and stuff. I bought the game a few months after its release date since I didn't really care about it for a while
Not saying that its a bad Zelda game, but personally I think they could have done a better job, Hyrule field seems like going into a straight path, little side quests and once u finish one temple, u quickly go to the next.

Honestly, I don't see how OOT is better than TP. Don't get me wrong, OOT is an amazing game, but TP makes so many improvements over it, it doesn't make any sense that people say TP is inferior. Everything made great in OOT has been perfected in TP. Sword gameplay, projectile aiming, horseback gameplay, fishing, it's all been improved. In fact, 90% of the complaints I hear about TP are either nitpicky, the player's own fault, or simply untrue.

man, remember watching this trailer literally hundreds of times... giving me the same fuzzy feeling now as it did all those times... only now not having that excruciating feeling of knowing i didnt have the game, and wouldnt for a while. now iv played, enjoyed and finished it, it still makes me feel good, however this trailer showed something with potential to beat Oot as best game ever, which tp didnt to my sincerest regrets...

It's interesting to see the enemies that appear in this trailer. One of them (with the mace) had the stance and attack of the large moblins from Wind Waker, whereas the lizard warriors from Ocarina of Time appear too.

I'm curious. What exactly did Midna beg for? If you're talking about asking Link to help her defeat Zant, that wasn't begging. It was asking for a favor from a friend. And going from a cynical bitch to a caring friend to Link and eventually becoming Link's best friend, I'd call that a great example of character development. I'm sorry that you failed to see that.

In some ways, I prefer the way the Beta version looks in that the woods are actual open spaces and such. A lot of the time there's always only one path to choose in places like woods in the Zelda games.

I also felt that the story was a disappointment, and more importantly the game lacked an epic feel. Most of the time you felt like you were playing a side story. Still a great game though. Great art design in particular.
