  • A musical genius playing a cover of a musical genius.

  • gracias paul

  • lennon originally sang this in the cover, and they overdubbed the recording so he could sing the harmonies with himself, just like buddy holly holly did

  • It's not hard to see where the Beatles got their inspiration and their sound from, Mr. Buddy Holly.

  • Bellísimo!

  • esse cara não é desse planeta!!

  • 13 People are L.L. Cool J fans...

  • I can die happy now:)

  • placer.. genio Paul!

  • 10 mother fuckers

  • ten people need there ears tested

  • This is amazing DAMN !

  • If Holly had lived to meet McCartney, I wonder if they would've written any songs together?

    Nice cover, thanks Paul.

  • @1blastman I bet the farm they would have.

  • I swear, if they aired this ONCE on MTV instead of the same 5 boring rap songs, Beatlemania would be back. :)

  • 10 people don't think love is real.

  • 10 people don't think love is real.

  • A great song indeed :)

  • I wish I could hold you close and tell you how I feel, Paul.

  • I LOVE THIS!!! :D

I can't decide which hair phase I like better- mop tops or this. XD He's lovely

  • I wish I had his voice D:

  • Albertangelo, u are a fukin retard, you are upset that Paul wrote amazing songs that would later become the best the world had ever heard at 15 years old while your were still learning the guitar. Just because you think you play better doesn't mean you do. And even if you did, how many hit songs have u written? Exactly.. And by the way, it counts when somebody else tells u are good, not when u pat urself on the back. At 66 years old, it's kinda of a joke ur putting down paul mccartney's guitar

  • and like someone else already said, if ur really that great, go out and sell out some concert halls and sell cds and surprise of all! and if u don't then pls leave ur comments to urself

  • looks like someone has a huge ego over here.. can't u just enjoy the class of mccartney without saying stupid things? i suggest u albertanglo play ur guitar and keep ur comments for urself, while we are looking at paul and seeing the class he has!

in fact, it's even too stupid to react on ur comments

  • bh song pm cover : ]

  • WWhy not read what I actually write rather than what you imagine I say? I did not write that I am better than Macca at "music", as you put it somewhat oddly. Look back at these messages, I said that I know many guitarists who are better than him at playing guitar, including myself. This is because I have seen several videos of him playing, and from that direct evidence, it is clear that he is not that good. And YOU have not produced any that show him playing any better. WHERE IS YOUR EVIDENCE?

  • @albertanglo Your direct evidence is your opinion -> Void.

Paul was a legend playing guitar and making history are two very different things.

  • @albertanglo After seeing you make a hundred posts about how average McCartney is on guitar, I wasn't surprised when I watched a video of you playing guitar on a street somewhere, completely out of tune, showing no musical ability whatsoever. There are a lot of delusional people like you who show up to talent competitions like X Factor and are shocked when they find out they're horrible. I'll save you the shock.

  • @albertanglo not that good? well first off it's a basic song. listen to his playing on blackbird or mother nature's son if you can't appreciate a simple and amazing song.

  • Ohhhhhh PAULY WALLY!....You HOTTIE YOU!!! : )

  • Some things never get old, like Buddy Holly's amazing songs or Paul McCartney's beautiful voice. <3

  • Paul marry meeeeeeeeeeeee !! xD

  • Just to show up this dude that's saying Macca can't play lead...watch?v=Eth9IuERovw and watch?v=F7_NAElaYR0

  • can anyone tell me what are the chords that he's playing???

  • @coldmetal94 A to D to E:)

  • @dominicrogers1996 ww w (dot) listentoyoutube (dot) com

  • If you pause at 0:00 you can see that before Macca, Keith Richards was on the show.

  • @Berenueve goodeye

  • this man is a genius one half of the greatest song writing duo ever to grace this planet.

  • Oh dear, you've lost it.... how silly...extreme abuse of the type you have written to me adds NOTHING to the debate and is a sign that you have nothing further to say....bye

  • Better than me? Er, can't see the relevance to what we are debating. Also, he SHOULD be as he has spent his life in the music business, whereas I have done other things such as being a science teacher, a published author on electromagnetics, a manager of a jazz-fusion guitar duo, and a Training Officer, as well being a one-parent family for ten years. Also, quite incidently, on his showing as an acoustic guitarist, unless anyone can find the evidence to the contrary, I AM better than him!

  • @albertanglo Lol, w-h-o c-a-r-e-s you are online gloating about your little piss fest. WHO CARES how good you are, you can be a fat 500 pound piece of shit. So fat you cant even hold a guitar, why don't you go sell as many albums as him as well as many concerts and tours as well as have his 885million net worth -- UMM NOO. YOU lose kthxbye

  • Any averagely proficient guitar-player can learn or make up lead-runs. I could certainly do it and so could many of my guitar-playing friends. You can quote McCartney's lead-run credits all you like, but such efforts are quite different from playing an acoustic guitar proficiently, which from the vids of him I have heard/seen, show only an average ability. Until evidence presents itself otherwise, we are left with the evidence that we have, which only shows him displaying an average ability.

  • @albertanglo He's better than you.

  • @albertanglo you are NOT better than paul mccartney at music, it doesnt matter about being a single parent, thats hard, yes, but it doesnt make you better than anyone, and that is a simple guitar song because its from the 50s, the only one playing "crazy" guitar riffs in the 50s was chuck berry, macca has phenomenal guitar skills, and john lennon has even quoted that PAUL was the one who taught him alot of guitar,

  • this is great, but why is he in a barn?

  • he's sooo sweet!!!!!

  • OK, I know you mean "Helter Skelter" not "Taxman". I think we have exausted this now. Incidently, did you know about the Charles Manson connection to "Helter Skelter"? (he headed a Californian hippie cult in the late 1960s who were involved in the occult and who murdered and mutilated the pregnant wife of film director Roman Polanski) Apparently, Manson heard secret messages from the devil in "Helter Skelter" . Keep taking the tablets Charlie.

  • @albertanglo Paul McCartney did the lead guitar in Taxman, Good Morning Good Morning, Ticket to Ride, Another Girl, Fixing a Hole, Drive My Car, and shared the three solos with John and George on The End (I am sure he did even more songs as well). I would say his guitar playing is perfectly fine... he also played all the instruments (lead guitar included) on Mother Nature's Son and Martha my Dear. Not to mention he came up with the drums on Ticket to Ride and other songs.

  • @itsbridgetlogann i bet u didn't know paul didn't play bass on 'ticket to ride' - it was a genius called archie leggatt

  • @h808

i guess it was your moms twat palying that thick bassline.

  • @itsbridgetlogann he did much much much more than that, he did everything on the chaos and creation in the backyard album as well

  • @albertanglo LOLOLOL. He is a dilusional freak. He thought the lyrcis were talking about how the black men of society were going to take over us and make us their slaves. Nothing more, he is insane, just like you, staying online ranting about how cool you are, you must have really bad ego. Did your dad beat you? That sucks, get another talent that argueing online. You know, whether you win or lose the special olympics you are still RETARDED. Many of mccartney critics are around, worse than you.

  • @albertanglo So buzz of fool

  • @albertanglo you're kidding me right? George Harrison admitted that paul WROTE AND PLAYED the taxman solo, and manson is a psychopathic murderer so are you really going to believe it when he says he heard hidden messages from the devil, because ive heard the song many times, and i still dont hear any "hidden message" from anybody in there

  • That's better! You have actually done some homework and I should have done mine and re-listened to Helter Skelter to find out exactly which guitar piece we were talking about as we appear to be referring to different guitar passages. However, I play guitar and know how easy it is to learn a simple one-off riff as Paul seems to have done for that track. When are you going to realise that he is just a middling guitar-player and that his strengths lay elsewhere?

  • @albertanglo

He's not a guitar virtuoso but I'm pretty sure he didn't "learn" the Taxman solo, he wrote it. It certainly sounds like something he wrote.

  • Oh for gods sake... ive wanted to marry paul since i was 4, why oh why is he ignoring my love!!!

  • HOW GREAT WAS WHAT?

  • OK.Let's see your evidence.

  • @albertanglo From the book "100 Best Beatles Songs":

    Helter Skelter

Paul McCartney: Bass, lead guitar, lead vocal

George Harrison: Rhythm guitar, backing vocal

It says the same in "Revolution in the Head"

  • HOW GREAT WAS THAT!!!!

  • Er..actually it WAS George playing in Helter Skelter. Nah. He's primarily a bass-player, and has only middling guitar skills. I have seen/heard him play/sing on his own with an acoustic guitar many times, and he's just OK really. He has a workman-like approach, and never bends a string or does mean-sounding cool blues like say Clapton. But if you want to believe black is white it is no use me sending you messages anymore-is it?

  • @albertanglo No, it was Paul. George played the rhythm guitar on Helter Skelter.

  • Comment removed

  • A great man paying homage to one of his first major influences in Rock and Roll. Paul has a beautiful soul....

  • damn! He's freakin adorable! oh wait.....I already knew that xD same reaction everytime ;) darling I love you! <3

  • I watched the electric guitar being played for "Maybe I'm Amazed" by SOMEONE, but who? The person playing could not be identified in that clip, as all you could see was his hands on the fretboard- no face there at all. Also, that run could be learnt without any wider ability to play guitar. Perhaps you can find something else showing that Paul McCartney is a fantastic guitar-player, because this is not convincing at all. It could be anyone.

  • @albertanglo Paul played all the instruments on the McCartney album (he often plays all the instruments on his songs).

I don't think he needs to prove his guitar skills to you. He's Paul McCartney and you're some guy who has played guitar for a very long time (but not even as long, and not to billions of people). You say you came up with a better version but no one gives a shit because you're not Paul McCartney.

But maybe if you post a video, a few people would.

  • @albertanglo Also, I doubt you're that great of a guitar player if you're calling Paul's guitar ability "basic" based on one video, and don't have the sense to realize that you're watching him do a Buddy Holly song, which is about as basic as a song can get.

I can guaran-fucking-damn-tee you that Paul is a much better guitar player than you. He's a virtuoso of music, and one who understands the beauty of simplicity that so many pretenders don't get.

    Prove me wrong.

  • @albertanglo Seriously...who do you think played lead on Helter Skelter and Taxman? Here's a hint: it wasn't George, and it wasn't John.

  • who is the guy that show up at the ending?

  • @vanilaaz Buddy Holy, Greetings!!!

  • any versions of john doing this?

  • The greatest singer song writer of all time,Lol

  • I have been playing guitar since I was 15(now 66) and I do a version of this that is much better than this from God Paul. Simple eh? It is deceptively tricky actually. You have to get the timing so exact. Paul doesn't do the opening riff here that makes the song effective, and so this rendition falls far short of a decent version. He was the bass player however, and he does not seem to have developed a more than very basic guitar skill. This song was on the Beatles For Sale album I think.

  • @albertanglo He developed much more than a "very basic" skill for sure. Listen to "Maybe I'm Amazed" he plays that solo.

  • Not that great actually...hard to connect this guy to the Beatles sound. Very basic guitar-work too. I dunno, I would have thought that he could have done better than this, but there you are.....

  • @albertanglo It is a simple song done in that manner. I like his version.

  • THE GIGANTIC GENIUS SIR PAUL AT HIS BEST

  • hat off to Paul and The Beatles. Long live the legends <3

  • I hate this bs bud holly is better

  • ...Who's providing the backround percussion track? Ahhh its bothering me not knowing. :/

  • allan clarke does this so much better, sorry paul

  • Pual McCartney dosen't look like himself anymore.

  • @ratonmickey83 Thats because this paul replaced him when the original one died in a car accident ;)

  • @targetcxd tsk. No he didn't. He just has blonde hair.

  • @ratonmickey83 because he died a long time ago

  • @tact12345 No, he just has blonde hair.

  • @ratonmickey83 Paul McCartney looks exactly like himself.

  • This has always been my favourite Buddy Holly track but I actually thing this version is even better!

  • 6 dislikes = 6 retards watched this video

  • the chords r super easy, AED....the entire song.

  • awesome, did you know that paul owns the rights to every buddy holly song.

  • RIP BUDDY HOLLY

  • one of the best songs ever written, only three chords, 2nd beattles buddy holly cover

  • 惚れた!!

  • 022100

  • Ahhhhhhhh...

  • love it love it love it love it love it love it love ittttttt

  • 43 year old Paul looks like 25!

  • @kirchfam living with minimal stress, baby! At his age good ol Dylan looked a 100.

  • I remember hearing Buddy Holly's version of this song in 1958. I was at a boarding school in England and spent a lot of time listening to 78 rpm records in those days. Simple music and innocent lyrics. Ah yes!

  • Thanks for posting this, thanks Paul. So fine. Love it

  • It's A, D, E (chords)

  • 6 words of hate!!

  • but what is the chord 0:56-0:57??,I can figure out that he played D and A after that chord but I don't think that chord is E right?or can you tell me how to play that E chord

  • @lfcivan1994 i think its E. idk. kinda hard to see

  • @lfcivan1994 Youre right, the chords are A D E in that order. Thats pretty much the whole song too.

  • @pontiacguy77

then how can I play that E chord?001320?

  • @lfcivan1994 I tried that chord you posted, and Im not sure what that is. I may have posted it backwards. Ppl read tabs different than I do. I know the first string is on the bottom, but I read mine differently. I know, Im weird. I never had a teacher, so it was a few years before I learned the correct order of the strings. Anyway, try the tab I posted, starting at the top. Sorry for any confusion lol

  • @pontiacguy77 the chords are A D E yea paul is not hitting every string but its pretty simple to pick up once you have the strumming pattern

  • can anyone just tell me the guitar pattern of this song?(Chord A D E right?)

  • Sing it like you mean it!

  • Paul rocks this song ALMOST as good as Buddy did. But Buddy will always be the best at this song.

  • @adam271976 You're right on both counts.

  • Paul rocks this song ALMOST as good as Buddy did. But Buddy will always be the best at this song.

  • A buddy holly classic, only the beatles could master, (paul mccartney alone)

  • Does anyone know what key paul's playing in? It's not the original key that the Beatles recording is played in is it? Cheers

  • love ya paul

  • And yes, George was a far superior guitar player than the excellent Paul. George was a genius at the guitar because no one could have done what he did for the band. No one can replicate that sound, and it was the perfect sound for the most perfect band of all time. Jimi Hendrix could wipe the floor with George in a guitar battle, but he would have been a terrible fit with The Beatles. As a guitarist, the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard on the guitar have been from George's fingers.

  • @superman11978

I totally agree!!!! i've always said that george might not be a perfect guitarist or the best guitarist of all times, but his style is BEAUTIFUL!!! with a few notes he did very simple but lovely solos!

  • @superman11978 I couldn't agree more. I prefer much more a guitarist that can play simple but convincing and touchful riffs and solos than other one that is able to play 1402349 notes in a second. I think the real ability of a guitarist consists on that, on being able to play with feeling, and knowing when to play simple. Just listen to "you never give me your money". What George plays is rather simple, but could other guitarist do any better on that song? That was George's magic.

  • I actually could care less what rolling stone magazine says about talent, they just want to sell magazine. As for Paul, he's a bass player and song writer and had one amazing ear, something that is quite rare and more special than accolades from critics.

  • Paul, vc é o melhor!!!!!!

  • Yes, simply brilliant...

  • brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Deliziosa questa versione!

  • the beatles cover of this is song is just remarkable

  • Paul owns the Buddy Holly catalog, that's why he's finally bale to play this music. He always loved Buddy Holly music, now he gets to take care of it unlike some other random person who would just use the music for money or personal gain.

  • This doesn't sound like Paul usually sings, Its Great!

  • ok paul, could you be any cuter? no? didn't think so.

  • Oh, Paulie, you're soooo adorable <3<3 I love you forever!

  • Paul is so damned talented he makes everything look easy.

  • marvelous !!!!

  • he forgot about the middle part, "let me hear you say..."

  • OMG he ends the song perfectly with that guitar riff. I thought you needed 2 guitars for that awesome sound. Well what do you expect,,, its Paul.

  • he actually looks younger now than he did in the 80's

  • beautiful Paul!!!! :)

  • que bonito video nunca lo habia visto felicitacioner a qien lo colgo

    martha cecilia

  • que bonito video nunca lo habia visto felicitacioner a qien lo colgo

  • Had Buddy Holly lived, he was only a few years older than the Beatles & it would have been interesting.

  • gorgeous rendition of a gorgreous song sung by a gorgeous musician who captured the spirit and whimsy of the song. Sir Paul. You truly do rock my humble work.

  • i like both buddy and paul great version

  • Comment removed

  • Paul was the most talented Beatle.

He was a better guitarist than George

He was a better drummer than Ringo

He was a better singer than all 3 others

He was a better song writer than all 3tothers
