  • MANHACKS!

  • I really don't get the point of this!!!

  • @mikeswrx02

And i don't get the point of your comment. Get it? haha

  • @mikeswrx02 to take urrr jerbs

  • LOL Supreme Commander

  • Drop scoops of cement - or mud - or resin and fibres - or liquid paper - or snow

You could construct a very thin - 2 mile high tower - termite citadel - igloo - dome - etc.

  • i had this idea yesterday i was gonna make but not any more (:(

  • sounds like flies

  • are they building based on an ai program or users controlling?

  • GREAT!! So now when a building is being constructed near my home, it will sound like a giant fuckin bee hive!!!

  • OMG THOSE are so cool!

  • now all we need is skynet then our extinction is assured

  • Imagine the noise this would make on a real construction side.

  • watching how the magnets pull them into position, jerking the whole quadrotor a couple of inches across kinda violently...

i wonder if the quadrotors had the power to pull the magnets apart again. I wonder if you put those magnets on 2 quadrotors, could they be programmed to controllably snap together in mid-air, keep flying, and then pull apart from eachother, all without crashing?

Kinda like those small redundant cooperative robots - but airborne.

    It'd be interesting no?

  • @roidroid oh i guess this is kinda along the same line as what the team has already done with "a claw like gripper" on the quadrotor, multiple quadrotors can grasp things at once and fly around as if they are one unit.

But it'd be too slow to grasp eachother while flying.

    watch?v=YBsJwapanWI

  • VTOL trucks? that's unpossibol

  • Impressive, make it solar powered and would be perfect.

  • @minotarr @minotaur2006 are you both the same person?

weird coincidence, you both posting one after another.

  • Great now one day we will go to sleep and when we wake up they will have built their city...consider this a warning

  • Comment removed

  • we need to make solar powered versions of this robots and then send them on the moon or mars and let them build things out there :)

  • @fumfulapenguin might be a bit hard to fly around on the moon ;)

  • Drunk tank

  • Bees from HELL.

  • right after the video ended, the batteries died.... thumbs up

  • Lol these will b used for rts style games irl.

  • I want one now! #FTW

  • THEY TOOK OUR JERBS!!!

  • mid air collision?

  • Fucking Robots coming here and taking our jobs! Go back to your own country Robots!!! They are taking our Jobs!!!

  • Give me a set of bionic wings and i'll have it in a jiffy, those robots aint got shit on my square building skillz.

  • It would be nice if you could get them to work along side of each other with collision detection instead of making them wait for the robot picking up a piece to leave before it picks up a piece. Other than that, very amazing technology.

  • God, it's like having a 1000 bees buzzing around you. This sound is more annoying than a Delta fan.

  • Working Vuvuzelas!

All construction workers are gonna be out of the job in the future...

  • I think they're having.. Hm.. A bug lol

  • Working Bees!

  • Swarm intelligence will allow for fully automating the work force. 99% of all jobs can then be considered menial. With no jobs left except teachers and technicians, we will eliminate money and use the resources of this planet in a sustainable way to feed, clothe, and house this world.

  • run as fast as you can when u hear that sound!!

  • Very smart, this could be our future, except with millions of them, much smaller of course, and more efficient! cant wait!

  • @wallofjustin

Then someone teaches them... to KILL!

    lol

  • @EdouardDubois bahahaahah. Now your thinking like a lead military scientist.

  • and soon robots will dominate us

  • Good idea for building Houses or city by Robot Flying OR buliding Star Trek in Orbit.

  • definitely missing diversification of structuration process and actors: flying should be used to construct railway-type frame, to grow it with building, and nonflying build process should make the most much more effectively

  • Skynet in the making

  • noise pollution lol...

  • Skynet!

  • @nickrose83 Exactly! This one is desgined to build a magnetic cages around anyone lazy enough to stay in one spot for an hour and a half. America's fat people are doomed! dun dun dunt dun dun.... dun dun dunt dun dun....

  • This robot makes me remember the game Colobot...the moved alike.

  • would love to see the outtakes of this video

  • really cool!

  • Stop hating on the new youtube feed. I think its mutch better, and in 2 weeks, you will think the same! =)

  • @kravenraze Thank you! Someone who agrees with me. The new system doesn't seem as bug ridden either!

  • When the flying robots are building flying robots instead of cages we're fucked.

  • how did they train the tiny cricket pilots?

  • oh no... not those from Half Life 2...

  • youtube main page sucks.

  • 1 Person missed the like button.

  • I find this very impressive but I still lack more info about how the actual flybots move about and with like say what system /program are they working on in order to complete the task they have.....

  • @piersremus Watch all of the relevant videos on the youtube channel user/TheDmel

It should fill in the blanks.

  • Can it grip sandwich?

  • if they make one that can go to the kitchen and bring beer to the living room i'll pay anything for it

  • How do they sense where to place the objects?

There's gotta be sensors on every piece of block or something...

Then sensors all around the room?

  • @imalwayswatchingu00 watch the video again and keep an eye out for all of those little white balls around the place. There's cameras that track them all in 3d.

The computer isn't tracking the blocks per-se. It just knows where to pick them up from (see the balls?), and once they are placed somewhere it just remembers where it puts them.

(the magnets help eliminate the finer accuracy problems by providing a "close enough" fastener)

  • haha MAZINFG!!!!!

  • Brilliant!

  • Are these autonomous?

  • @1RadicalOne I think they are... he mentioned the yawing motion to test if the connection has been made and for them to try again if not, that would not be needed if people were controlling it and could see if it was connected. Also look at the tree flyers working together at the end, that dose not look like three human controlled flyers.... but then again this is all a guess.

  • @thethingthatwants they are autonomous.

  • @1RadicalOne oh and he says they are at the beginning of the video (I missed it too lol)

  • The visual recognition system is impressive.

  • @1RadicalOne it's just IR

  • Soon robots are going to take over.

  • cool, what do they run off of? some battery?

  • @jackster1990 yes they are basically just like an RC toy, but hacked so they have computer control.

  • screw them building shit.. i just want one of them flying things!! lol

  • they sound like bees

  • I am just surprised that they can support the weight of the pillars.

  • Soon we'll have manhacks chasing us through the sewers!

  • @scullyy

    So many thumbs up.

  • @scullyy It's all good, I got my crowbar and gravity gun.

  • incredible!

  • Because buildings are put together with magnets and not rivets...

  • @hgryphon it's not that hard to imagine a robot with a rivet gun attached to it.

  • @hgryphon buildings are put together with fuckin' miracles

  • @roidroid Fuckin magnets! How do they work?

  • makes me wana grab a crowbar and smash those things!!!

  • l love it its just like futerama

  • more US jobs lost by robots

  • @AVerbene

    Well blame the capitalism.

Sooner or later no one will have to work or at least do any boring work because of these awesome robots.

  • @PeXis No one seems to no what capitalism is nowadays. For instance they keep calling the current system "capitalism". Its not even close. Mercantilism, crony capitalism, fascism etc etc are good descriptions. But all the problems that are around today are the same ones Adam Smith complained about. If what followed from Smith was a concept called capitalism, yet the problems he complained about are still here, ie mercantilism. Then people should start complaining about mercantilism instead

  • @NicosMind must be convenient to wish away anything that doesn't fit in your ideal without realizing your idea is what causes these abhorrent forms of "capitalism" you say. The free market doesn't exist outside of government regulations and foundations; capitalism has inherent contradictions in it. Sowz.

  • @NwZ2 The "free market" doesnt exist at all and has never existed. Its always been highly manipulated and laissez faire has been corrupted to mean free reign of the private sector. It does not. What it means is no government interference such as private deals for special interst such as government granted monoplies, government bailouts & insurance, regulations written to favor them etc etc etc. This has been the criticism from day one. Remove these special favors has been Smiths philosophy

  • @NwZ2 plus to add to my comment "capitalism has inherent contradictions" thats not the capitalistic model. Thats human nature youre talking about. Something thats always been recognise. And something many systems dont even start with!!!

Economics isnt a hard science like physics but rather a soft science like psychology. Start with something like Ludwig Von Mises's Human Action and work from there.

  • @AVerbene DEY TUK UR JERBS!

  • gah! the bees are building!

  • yay The future of construction is the Lego way

  • those beeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz sound is gonna be annoying while waiting for the robots to finish their job. Interesting idea though

  • Shame, that no big corporations are interested in such things.

All they want is more money...

  • Want one.

  • Well thats not energy efficient but cool robots

  • @NicosMind construction is never energy efficient, but I get what you mean

  • @seeriktus Im just thinking of peak oil which seems to have no one talking about it. Instead of complaining about global warming as a need to find alternative fuels why dont they talk about the fact that oil production has peaked? Anyway im sure the second and 3rd generation(plus the ones that follow) are gonna be scary cool.

  • @NicosMind people probably arn't talking about it because it has absolutely nothing to do with this video.

the energy to run these robots does not come from oil.

or did you think these quadrotors are making an oil platform or something?

  • @roidroid How sad are you. You mustny have much of a life to go trolling thru the comments and replying to at least 9 people.

My original comment is about the robots not being very energy efficient but i liked them anyway.

Secondly i never said peak oil was anything to do with this video but it has a lot to do with whats happening in the outside world.

And where do you think 99% of our energy comes from? Oil gas coal and even a little nuclear. Where else would they get the electric?

  • @NicosMind the comments sections exist for people to chat about the video, which is what i'm doing. I can see why this may offend you if the only reason YOU are here is to talk about your favourite irrelevant subject of peak oil.

    ...

Did you know in Canada milk comes in bags?

  • this probably makes so much sound that you can go deaf..

  • it begins....... but damn are those things loud!

  • awesome!

  • @ridingisasport dumbass its their fucking site you go tell youtube to fuck off just never use it asshole

  • @ridingisasport I'd like to see you make a site like this!

  • @qazwsx2541 hmmm... what should I post... something about raging against machines or something about feeding the resident trolls ...... hmmmmmm

  • GREAT WORK

  • Sentinels.

  • I forget, whats the flight time length of these helicopters?

  • @refink33 doesn't matter. The computer could automatically have them fly into a charger when they get tired, and fly them back out again when charged. There is lots of them, they can work in shifts as necessary.

  • still...not as fast as humans!

  • fucking awesome, I wouldnt mind that taking over

  • Great Now More People Will Lose Their Jobs, And Fuck Up the Economy....

  • @oqal when robots are making me food, constructing my buildings, and basically just supplying me with everything that i need.

the economy will be pointless to everyone, and will die a natural death.

    so what.

  • that looks really useful, especially when constructing tall buildings!

  • at the end it looked like normal constrution sites, one of them wasnt doing anything

  • @qazwsx2541 Duh, that was the supervisor!

  • @qazwsx2541 yeah the bot movements and construction method could still all definitely be optimized.

  • is it just someone controlling the heli or does it have a one AI and envirnmental recognition to do so?

  • @SickBang Yeah it's completely computer controlled, no humans at all.

Notice all of the little white balls around. The computer visually tracks those balls with an IR webcam to know where things are flying, what orientation they are in, and where the things it has to pickup are.

I think the quadrotors also have some acceleration sensors on them too.

  • But would the make good prostitutes? I think the noise would put me off, frankly.

  • SCV ready!

  • i wanna give it A MACHENE GUN

  • Parts of this look computer animated. I'm not saying they are I'm just saying this is so cool I'm finding hard to believe.

  • So things look pretty lethal. they may be the start of the impending robot revolution. It only takes one mad scientist or defective programing to start them off on their killing spree. I'm just sayin...

  • @gaymanrights well every tool can be used as a weapon.

people are beaten to death with hammers all the time.

  • lmao how tempting would it have been to turn on a fan just as the robot is putting the beams in place

  • @nikobrown1990 They can adapt to that just fine. They are controlled by a computer that is visually watching them at all times, it's a visual feedback loop.

If they move - the computer corrects within milliseconds.

  • you know how awesome that would look to see a couple thousand of those things building a skyscraper? it may be a little unrealistic, but the idea still seems pretty amazing.

  • awesome

  • now why don't we have big helicopters with 4 rotors?

  • @DeagleBeagle I would imagine the reason we don't have quad-copters is that they wouldn't be fuel efficient compared to single blade helicopters, plus they would require a lot of R&D and expense to build.

  • @HooperNoodles i dunno about that. Since quadrotors have much finer control over movement, they would be able to move things around much faster and therefore spend less total time in the air.

Just think of how traditional helicopters hover for so long while they try to steady their movement when doing fine maneuvers such as landing, if they didn't have to do that it would save a lot of flight time and fuel.

If a traditional helicopter did the maneuvers in this video, it would take forever.

  • Looks really cool!

    Sounds really bad! lol

  • imagine 100 of those building something .....damn all those noise polution.

  • @outlawkelb it'll sound like the South African world cup all over again.

    BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • That's pretty amazing. I like it. Good job.

Let's scale it up a bit. Rig some Chinooks and lets play!

  • they sound and remind me of worker bees

  • Comment removed

  • build big ones, now!

  • loud as hell!

  • All the while a preschooler was sobbing behind the camera as he watched the robots taking his job.

  • Can It fly upside down? I have to mowe my lawn.

  • @Ilamarea No, but it can build you a lawnmower.

  • Can anyone say Terminator Salvation?

  • @AgothInnCloth no people can't quite pronounce that.

  • Soon robots will replace humans. We will lose our jobs.So whats then ?

  • @blokazas666 Probably should think of redesigning the monetary system so that would not be a problem, good luck with that though, doesn't seem the people in power want to let go of their power.

  • @blokazas666 Then the robots will provide the food and goods we need, and we can all just relax...

  • i want one D:

    also

    NEW YOUTUBE LAYOUT!

    ┌∩┐(◕_◕)┌∩┐

  • @JonasAtGuitar it REALLY sucks, right?

  • This is really usefull, structures can be build more quickly and using different shapes and methods unforeseen.

  • My imagination goes beyond that... I can see a future where billions of "bees" (minatures of these robots) are building for us almost anything structure we need... or conquer the world. ;)

  • i want one so bad :D

  • How the heck am i gonna be able to compete with this, at least i know where to invest my money.

  • queck out the quadrotors channel, got some more cool videos.

  • awesome D:

  • Skynet in development

  • Sounds like a swarm of evil robot bees.

  • minecraft

    ...robot version
