I genuinely love both Windows and Mac, but that did make me laugh, Vista was pretty bad from my experience, but they pulled it together good again with 7 :)
After watching some many films with the same topic, these commercial films try to tell us PCs are bad, lousy, stupid, and so on. If so, PCs should be extincted. On the contrary, PCs occupies 60% of the market share or above. Can somebody tell me the reason why?

Hopefully, if Apple continue with their innovative product line, the tables will be completely turned in 10 years.
I h8 apple. They hide all their flaws by making it 3 times the price it should be and curving out the edges. They even said that mac is "virus-proof". lol. none of their stuff works. I can not name any reason that I would take mac instead of PC.

Consider that Mac are high-end machine, look at the same performance and count everything - the cost is so near that personal preferences take the upper hand.

@imnotaturtle I do like thinking, in case you were wondering. At the time, I knew that I wanted to get a new laptop and looked into the various choices. Windows offered Vista, Apple offered Leopard then and Linux I had actually tried and hadn't liked too much. As I said, I have never regretted that move.

@purecanaidian i didn't get the alien ware nor the mac. instead, i built my pc from the ground up. its awesome and i spent about $250 on it. i can play most games in 1080p except for crysis which only runs on 720p on high. still, awesome purchase!

I like vista better than Windows 7, but I prefer to use Macs because of their software and performance. So Mac is pretty much a fair game with Windows..

Sure my kids have a PC loaded with games, but Macs are better for work: 1) no virus worries (no matter what you say), 2) doesn't slow down over time because there is no registry to get clogged up to begin with, 3) tech support is horrible (where's a Windows store, except in "India"?), 4) external drives can and do run alternate System folders with incredible ease, so if there's a system problem, guess what - poof! - the computer boots off another drive. "Upgrading" to a Mac usually includes dishing out nearly twice as much for an overly stylized computer and operating system, and only getting half of what you could have had with a Windows PC. And now any games you had will no longer work, unless you also shell out another few hundred for a second HDD with a Windows OS on it. Then when you want to upgrade your Mac, you have to send it back and shell out a shitload more cash so they can do it, unless you want to risk voiding your warranty.
Sadly I do. The fact that I've purchased computers from both sides of the lines somewhat warrants that, don't you think? Sure they both are relatively outdated since I got them a year ago, but the point stands. I got a Mac for what most people got it for: Browsing, image editing, etc. I got a PC for games, school work, and actual work. Shelled out about $1000 for the PC, and $2000 for the Mac. While the Mac does what I got it for, when I try to do anything beyond that, it freaks out and crashes.
@SirArx The Mac isn't designed for gaming. You get what you pay for. The Mac doesn't do some things that Pcs can do, but the things it does do, they do so much better than any PC.

An iPod Touch can do much more than that $198.00 MP3 player you mentioned, and two dollars is such a small difference that it doesn't really matter financially.
Also... the iPod Shuffle with the most capacity has 4 GB of storage... so that touchscreen MP3 player is a ripoff unless you only have a few songs/videos.

Yea dude I recent build my father a rig for $900 that he now does professional grade video editing on at his home (He's a director of photography and used to be a film editor so he obviously knows what he's doing) and he says he's able to use it better than his G5 that broke down before I build him his current rig.

No, if you know how to take care of a windows or linux based computer, and DON'T buy a dell or HP or something, then your computer can last for years. I've had the same one for 9 years, mind you it's a different computer from when I first built it, but I never have had a critical system error, no hardware has broken (I always upgraded simply because I wanted more every 3-4 years) and I've never gotta a virus that was noticeable at all.

Sure my kids have a PC loaded with games, but Macs are better for work: 1) no virus worries (no matter what you say), 2) doesn't slow down over time because there is no registry to get clogged up to begin with, 3) tech support is horrible (where's a Windows store, except in "India"?), 4) external drives can and do run alternate System folders with incredible ease, so if there's a system problem, guess what - poof! - the computer boots off another drive. Did I mention 'incredible ease'? Microhard

"Upgrading" to a Mac usually includes dishing out nearly twice as much for an overly stylized computer and operating system, and only getting half of what you could have had with a Windows PC. And now any games you had will no longer work, unless you also shell out another few hundred for a second HDD with a Windows OS on it. Then when you want to upgrade your Mac, you have to send it back and shell out a shitload more cash so they can do it, unless you want to risk voiding your warranty.

Sadly I do. The fact that I've purchased computers from both sides of the lines somewhat warrants that, don't you think? Sure they both are relatively outdated since I got them a year ago, but the point stands. I got a Mac for what most people got it for: Browsing, image editing, etc. I got a PC for games, school work, and actual work. Shelled out about $1000 for the PC, and $2000 for the Mac. While the Mac does what I got it for, when I try to do anything beyond that, it freaks out and crashes.

@Eggyrocks1 not really lol. macs dont have as many programs made for them, macs dont come with some free software to do video editing like windows has always done, and when it does have a program its usualy more expensive. example apples movie software is almost 70 bucks. windows comes built in with any edition you want. dragon speach software for pc's is 50 bucks, while its 200 for macs. but again its what you like.

i saw a MP3 player which had a full touch screen and did everything an ipod could do (ruling out itouch) and it was $198 while i saw an ipod shuffle right next to it for $200
they also had the same amount of storage

@TechXMarine There is NO such thing as a $200.00 iPod Shuffle. The most expensive one was $150.00 (first generation), but they soon got cheaper.
An iPod Touch can do much more than that $198.00 MP3 player you mentioned, and two dollars is such a small difference that it doesn't really matter financially.
Also... the iPod Shuffle with the most capacity has 4 GB of storage... so that touchscreen MP3 player is a ripoff unless you only have a few songs/videos.

Yea dude I recent build my father a rig for $900 that he now does professional grade video editing on at his home (He's a director of photography and used to be a film editor so he obviously knows what he's doing) and he says he's able to use it better than his G5 that broke down before I build him his current rig.
I can't afford to feel bad for everyone who gets sucked in by mac though. Their problem, they probably don't even know what they're missing out on.

Yea, it's a nice platform for web surfing, photoshop and media editing. But, so is a normal computer if you know what you're doing.

No, if you know how to take care of a windows or linux based computer, and DON'T buy a dell or HP or something, then your computer can last for years. I've had the same one for 9 years, mind you it's a different computer from when I first built it, but I never have had a critical system error, no hardware has broken (I always upgraded simply because I wanted more every 3-4 years) and I've never gotta a virus that was noticeable at all.
I can also overclock, macs can't.
