  • WTF ? NOT VIDEO, NOT MUSIC !!!

  • Neither video nor sound works for me in 360p (240p works fine).

  • its not difficult what autechre do. if you got reaktor 5 you can do the same beats. melodies are easy to do with absynth. the editing you can do with cool edit 95 demo version. no need to call these guys from autechre a legend. everyone can sound like this.

  • @Lesjamify But, let's be honest. A HUGE part of the reason the software evolved the way it did was because people heard pioneers like Autechre, The Orb, Orbital, The Prodigy, Brian Eno, because lay people loved their sound and people marketing the software knew that if the tools worked in such a way to make the creation of those sounds possible, they'd be able to sell the software. Further to that, most of the greats have been hands on making or mastering and teaching this software.

  • @Lesjamify yea the hard part i guess is posting ignorant comments on youtube. you sir are a legend! now go away, we want to hear some music

  • @kozas0

thank you for calling me a legend. well. it may be true. i already made songs with technomaker 2. they put some cool rave beats to it so i made more bass to it with something called IQ or EQ not sure what it was but anyway I am the legend.. right.. autechre? who are they? i´m the genius everyone wants ha!

  • @Lesjamify truely terrible sarcasm :-(

  • @Intelectual95 ....

    FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  • @Intelectual95 TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOOO

  • Why stuff up one of Ae's best tracks with a very obtrusive video???

  • what happened to the sound ? the video is also not functioning well, time lapses and the opening scene freeze down... :(

  • @Sealiconspirit

just switch quality from 360p to 240p.

    Amazing vid and sound.

    have a nice day.

  • The Video becomes broken voice disappeared. How come?

  • Is this complete silence or is there something very VERY low playing?

  • Master Alarm

  • If you can't see heaven clearly after listening to this there's trouble.

Sorry but your home made video destroys the essence of this video. This is about passing from one life to another, from sunrise to sundown, from lover to sleeper.

    Truam are also great.

  • great work! simple, natural and sophisticated. congrats and the music.. outstanding

  • Listen to 19 XI by Scianka.

I can recommend it to everyone who likes this.

  • played this at my moms funeral.....simple and very touching. there always cutting edge!

  • I f**king love this song!! It for me will always be a classic..

  • this is the sound of eternity

  • Ulala!

  • The music is very beautiful, one of the most intriguing works of Ae imho, but I don't think the music and the traffic sounds of this video work well together. The city noise just distracts too much from the subtle intertwining soundscapes. Besides that, the cuts in the video have absolutely no relation to the changes in the music.

  • This is so beautiful. You have put together the most amazing images to one of the most intimate pieces of music I've ever heard.

    Fits the mood perfectly,

  • deepness!

  • God I love this. I keep coming back to it. I've had very emotional experiences to the track before, whilst driving. But this particular take just offsets it beautifully. So simple. Well done.

  • very nice visuals, excellent work :-)

  • song reminds me of a plane taking off in slow motion

  • its amazing the way a song can take on a different meaning there is a visual to accompany it

  • very clear and sad.

i had this thing once when i was far away from my big colored city...

I have plunged into tons of loneliness of the star sky and calmness... very special mood

  • Good work on the visuals too...

  • I used to listen to this driving through the wilds of Scotland on my way to work...if you're in a city it's the Apocalypse...if you're in the country it's just nature...

  • Chris Clark called this song the eighth wonder of the world.

  • @ourigin 135 people agreed

  • Good video man.

  • To anyone who likes this piece of art, I'd recommend "Miss You" by Trentemøller.

  • The Plaid remix makes this one of the most beautiful tunes ever.

  • this sound is disturbingly beautiful.

for me it depicts utter desperation and utmost lack of hope of a guy who, in a minute, will commit suicide.. or genocide.

lack of beat makes it even deeper. it tells you more than experimental breakcore. there is some nasty hectic shit beyond that "peaceful" layer. i'm scared and i mean that...

it is by no means good to listen to it when you're seriously depressed.

unless you want to experiment :)

  • "Utter desperation"? "Lack of hope"? What!? Why?! Because it lacks beats? Man, a little introversion, and contemplation won't hurt anyone... far from being depressing, just beautiful...

  • idmgeek nob

  • for me it sounds like complete and utter desolation: the end of all things...it's the sound of the apocalypse

  • massive introspection and massive depression cures my depression

  • This track is sooo fucking good to work too...

    F O C U S

  • This is lovely. If possible, you should consider reuploading a better quality version... I'd love to see this in HD.

  • this video accompany with the song take me to a new level. superb.

  • boston?

  • cool, I was originally listening without looking at the video and I thought that the traffic sounds cut really well with the music, as cerareo12 said, it turns this into more of a single work rather than a track and a fan video... you should try taking this further.

  • Very beautifull video! Great work, dude!

  • ..and that fucks the song but converts the whole work in a sort of video instalation instead of a mediocre music video.

  • wow. stunning. compelling. this is my favourite AUTECHRE piece. So beautiful

  • Setanor, please check ur youtube inbox! Its very important for me.

  • fucking great video

  • kill the audio of the city. ugh.

    nice try...

  • I like hearing the traffic in this. The 2:20 mark was pretty neat.

  • same here

  • I actually like this clip a lot - been watching it regulary for over a year :-)

  • For anyone who has not heard it, Plaid did a much faster and percussion-fused remix on Vltermx. It can be found only on the Warp 10+3 Remixes compilation. The original repetitive bass notes are well hidden in Plaid's remix but after enough listens they start to emerge. Quite brilliant.

  • ugghhh cars

  • Funky beat man! I'll use this at my wedding.

  • that's so depressing.

  • vletrmx is the kind of track that could only be used for the most dramatic and perfectly flawless deep scene in a movie, ever. infact, with todays technology and our current capabilities to write stories, we still couldn't put vletrmx to use, it's too good for anything. maybe in 50 years we could make a movie just barely worthy enough of this glorious track.

  • I was so saying the exact same thing to my friend yesterday.

  • At 3:40 a supernova is getting started. It could be used for the big bang in the begining and the big crunch in the final.

  • what does that mean? im a bit ignorant when it comes to this stuff

  • supernova is an exploding star. Big bang is the beginning of the universe and big crunch is the end of the universe.

  • yea i understand the science i just dont see it in this video

  • think, gnah i love it.. youa gave me room 2 think =) i depent on it well pretty mouches wordless i can say ... feel it, an belive =)

  • Soundtrack in preparation to the end of the world.

  • videos makers check my song on my page 'nymbocephalic', im looking for someone to make a music video to my electronica/glitch/ambient track, thanks

  • People say that it is VERY HARD to understand the meaning of AUTECHRE's vidoes...I think it's true...but still, these videos are simply THE BEST!!!Thanks for adding, setanor!!

  • ten numer chyba powstał przy tworzeniu wszaechświata

  • awesome ;)

  • This track, along with Aphex's Rhubarb once in a while fill my whole day, entirely.Gorgeous - I feel all kinds of emotion listening to this tunes - that's the real magic of them for ME.And Video ?? Stunning :):)

  • This track, along with Aphex's Rhubarb once in a while fill my whole day, entirely.Gorgeous - I feel all kinds of emotion listening to this tunes - that's the real magic of them for ME.And Video ?? Stunning :):)

  • beatiful, this make my cry...my god... this is me...

  • great stuff, sometimes the simplest is the most powerful.

i don't agree with the mondrian comparison either , at all...looking at mondrian is more like listening to philip glass play piano with one finger.

  • You're not into either Mondriaan or Philip Glass I presume? ;)

I used to dislike Mondriaan, but it's actually through the work of artists like Autechre and Philip glass that I came to appreciate paintings like 'Broadway Boogie-Woogie' and his compositions with Red, Yellow and Blue. His two lines composition is not a real composition in my eyes, but a kick in the nutsack of every artcritic around the planet, which makes it a worthwile painting ;)

  • I don't know if anyone has said that before but I believe what those guys make can be called as "deconstructive". I am an architect but I have to admit that I can't percieve space as well as they do.

I'll always have an eye on them.

  • Garbage is fuckin awesome.I can't wait for the next.

  • This tune is so uplifting it always makes me want to cry out or something. Its got so much emotional atmosphere. It puts wonderfull atmospheric images in my head and the feelings i get are hard to describe. As with a lot of Autechre stuff... YUM

  • I don't like all of Autechre's music, but most of it is amazingly made. This is just single notes being played on a synthesizer. You could program a computer to generate tracks like this from a very simple frequency/time-function. Therefore I do not consider this music, but what music is, is not a discussion we should have on youtube. It's ok if you like it, but don't think it's pure genius or even pure minimalistic. It's pure simplicity, and maybe that's beautiful, but it doesn't turn me on.

  • "You could program a computer to generate tracks like this from a very simple frequency/time-function."

perhaps, but the subtle modulations in this piece seem to be more organic then what could be achieved by stiff time-based LFO's of envelopes.

  • Yes, I see what you mean, but I don't know if it's really true, I'm not an expert at what computers precisely can or can't do. Still, I believe it does not take much emotion or musical/artistic insight to create something like it. It's like the Mondrian 2-line painting worth a million euro's; It has a l'art pour l'art kind of meaning, but it's probably not meant to mean anything.

  • Just admit that you don't like electronica you dickhead! Just because it isn't done on a guitar or whatever doesn't mean it isn't music! Electronica is the future of music as we know it and Autechre are definately some of the most groundbreaking geniuses at how they utilize it. This piece is indeed a work of minimalistic genius! I am sick of people like you talking trash about it!

  • P.S-this isn't aimed at anybody but Warnona, the trashtalking, Autechre bashing idiot who is pretending to be objective!

  • it does not take much emotion or musical/artistic insight to create something like it...Listen to the music. Just listen. It's great artistic insight and emotional. Just listen. Dont prejugde it but listen carefully! It's the kind of music like rock or pop whre you can listen with one ear.

  • I'm not really getting you here? Listen carefully, but listen with one ear? Isn't that a little paradoxical?

  • "It's the kind of music like rock or pop whre you can listen with one ear."

I think he meant "It's NOT the kind of music..."

  • It's a big mistake to judge all music (or all art) on the same terms.

  • It isn't just single notes anyway. There are other notes harmonizing below the high ones.

It is really simple, just the same sequence of notes over and over with what sounds to me like some volume and filter modulation. But really simple music can still be good and emotionally expressive. It only really takes a couple chords to set a mood anyway. :-P

  • Thank yóu for actually going into what I say. I must agree with you on the harmony, and am not saying it's bad, I can see how somebody can like this, but too me it's certainly a bridge too far to call it 'genius'. It doesn't sound original enough for that and I don't think they put a lot of effort into this compared to other electronic tracks out there.

  • I wouldn't call it "genius," either, and I agree that it's not terribly original. It's just good, enjoyable music. :-)

  • well if you want to be make a precise criticism its not single notes its arpegiatted chords being fed thru a network of delays and reverbs

    are you deaf?

  • waranoa that last q is for u

i think u r on a mission here, good luck with it

  • oh yeah and i forgot to say this film is pretty tasty, the camerawork is really good

i have watched it about 30 times and i still find stuff in it, the foley and the edits are fantastic

  • Maybe you're right, and I AM on a mission. I enjoy my electronics like the next, but it's not everything Autechre makes is complete and utter genius. Just try listening to it as music, not as some superhuman endeavour, because it's not. And this is not an impressive track compared to other work of Autechre, everyone done this.

  • How sure can you be about it being arpeggiated chords thru a 'network' of delays and reverbs? I'm not deaf, but I don't hear any arpeggiation (single notes of a chord played in fast succession) and the suggestion of a 'network' is taking it a bit too far, it could essentially be 2 single units connected serialy for all you can tell by the track itself.

  • lol

  • I'm totally giving you wat you want right?

  • "Therefore I do not consider this music, but what music is, is not a discussion we should have on youtube."

Objectively speaking, music is nothing but sound.

Although, if you don't think it's great I can't really disagree, especially compared to other Autechre work. I see it as something that is meant to be simple and I respect the contrast this will cause with their other work. However, it's not the track I would be praising as highly as some others seem to be.

  • Music is a collection of sounds arranged by a person with an aesthetic purpose in any manner.

But whether it sucks or not depends on the listener.

  • in my opinion this track presents suicidal thoughts. extremely sad but beautiful. extreme minimalism at its best.

on the other extreme you could put gantz graf.

  • dude, great job, which city is this?

  • `Don't worry/ Christ i feeel sick ....tak`e cee

  • Lost the original to this. This helped me struggle through a death 10 years ago. This tune means a hell of a lot!- Cheers.

  • One of the best things I've found on YouTube! Great job on this video, I really love it.

  • Iäve always thought about listening to this tune inside an isolation tank, while tripping on lsd. Would be cool...

  • This is really good. Really, really good. The Autechre boys would love it. You should post more videos.

  • Great, just remember not to contain people. It makes a piece more isolation atmosphere.

  • A simply stunning and breath taking piece of art. Could congratulate you enough for this vid man. Autechre were right on the money with your footage.

  • The slow wailing of the melody coupled with the low humming sound combined with the sense of desolation and tranquility it evokes has always reminded me of the sky growing dark then turning a kind of sickly green as the tornado sirens would blare. Interesting to hear it with city noises.

  • a great piece of art

  • Nice vid, very artsy..Hey if you like experimental electronic and glitch music, check out my vids, all feedback is appreciated

  • Everytime I hear this track it reminds me of the Terminator. Very similar synth timbre and a few notes.

  • Superb

  • mmmmm nice video. nice music!

  • really awesome video. haunting.

  • the video would have been alot better if there was no sound from the actual video clips (music only). But I would say it was pretty well done.

  • Have to disagree there. Keeping the audio adds to the atmosphere. If you took the original sound away it would just be visuals to the music but keeping the sound he's actually taken it one step further - the whole piece works together - the visuals, chaotic sound and the atmospheric music.

I love how the sounds are abrupt in places too. There's something scary, yet intriguing about the visuals and yet it's something you see everyday. Sorry I keep coming back to this video - it's really good :P

  • Yeah, you're right. I take back what I said.

  • works rather well, good job.

  • 1 of the best pieces of music in electronic history. I love the video accompanied to it, it gives such an empty but majestic feeling.

If you ever gonna do another movie, don't hesitate to do 1 of garbagemx36! :)

  • ...and that fucks the song but converts the whole work in a sort of video instalation instead of a mediocre music video.

  • That fucks the song but converts the whole work in a sort of video instalation instead of a mediocre music video

  • atmospheric and thoughtful. i like that you've let the found sound mix with the ae track - gives it a more tangible natural edge. good work fella.

  • I think this video is great. Atmosphere...and real. Everyone is using the latest technology to make the most complex videos in the world, and this guy (and autechre as well) achieves to scare me putting in images just the thing i try to run away from when i listen that song. Fearful song, fearful video. Thanks

  • The best videos are those that engage you and make you think about what you're seeing - this is one of them.

Very well done and good use of an awesome track!

  • Really excellent.

You should send this to the Autechre boys. I know they would love your interpritation. The city scape night time sounds serve only to add to an already powerful track. WeLL done . Any more on the way ?

  • Normally I hate fanVids but this one transcends the genre. Thoughtful.

  • sorry.. it's totally rubbbissshh! .. too small , non-emo sort of things to the too big sort of emo sound ... heh.. i think, gays from AE have good fun watchin this ..u've killed their song already with that.. haha.

  • Yessssssss

  • nice one!!:)

  • cool vid. the mood of it reminds me of Radiohead's documentary MEETING PEOPLE IS EASY. Good job

  • Excellent job here....many kudos

  • soo ambient

  • i like it

  • i like it. i like being able to hear the city sounds and how they cut out abruptly. feels frantic or something.

  • Very cool. I had a similar idea, on a foggy after hours night I would have a friend drive me down some out of the way roads in New Jersey that go along the orange glowing industrial parks and lights from the parkway... the whole sky lights up bright orange on a foggy night. I drove these roads all the time, and Vletrmx21 is my favorite song, i was going to film this area and put the song over the video.
