Vientiane needs to be a green city once again. My first visit back in early 2010 saw a lot of desolate city scape. I actually fell into a man-hole sewer at night in the city scraping my shins because I wasn't looking where I was walking & didn't see it. I'm interested in investing for the future development & improvement for Laos, but in time hopefully we can promote the countrys eco-treks, traditions & national diversity.
That is really sad to hear. What the people really needs is a good central education system. How are they going to reduce poverty without it? The Lao government just wants to keep them dumb so that they won't challenge them. In the meantime, they just keep lining their pockets and give Laos away. 35 years after they took power, nothing has really changed. The people are still dirt poor. Laos needs a change in government to a multiparty system.
It's nice VDO, but i am expecting more than this! Because I love &care of my birthplace; 1st. need a better & more efficient public transit system, 100% electric buses & trains, not fossil fuel vehicles. 2nd. CO2 reduction programs, we lao should lead the world, by phasing out fossil fuel vehicles; Arabs have more gas, we lao have more of electricity. I don't want Vientiane to look like Bangkok, or Rio De Janario, Brazil, okay pple!! Lastly, Plze don't forget about nice & clean bathrooms!!!
Nice video; hopefully they can make the streets more pedestrian friendly (complete streets would be nice - bike lanes, sidewalks etc.). Had a hard time with the crossings when I was there.

I like the way our country is. Not too much change. Otherwise foreigners want to see our traditional culture and building.
