The 3800 is a great motor and lasts forever! If the engine goes out, it's easy to find a cheap used one. One thing to look for is intake manifold coolant leaks. The intake manifold gaskets go bad and allow coolant to go into the oil. It happened to me and I spun a rod bearing.
Gas mileage is great! If I reset the mileage meter in the driver info center I get mid to low 30's on the highway. I've seen it stay steady at 34 on a long highway drive.
With mixed driving (city/highway) it gets mid 20's.
@3859c1 Hey man in my area there is a 97 gtp for sale but it has 180000 miles on it. The owner wants 1300 is that a good deal. He said something was wrong with the heater core but im a little weary about it.I just sold my 2000 se for 2300 to find a gt or gtp.
@3859c1 Oh and I forgot to list that I would be getting an intense racing PCM too. My only worry is that I can only run 91 octane gas where I live? Is that still going to be okay?
I have a 2004 Supercharged Monte. I'm looking at doing some mods to it. I am thinking a 3.4" pulley, headers, a 180* stat, and a 3 inch down pipe. Do you think that is enough supporting mods for this size pulley?
Sorry bro, you fail. Read a little closer. That run is obviously not a 5.35 second run. I wasn't going for a best time on this run. I simply put it to the floor. I didn't even have the app when this run was done.
And actually that app is very accurate!
I've seen dyno comparisons and track runs and it's incredible how accurate it is. Even more so than the G-Tech Pro.
When driving normal it seems like it still has a stock tune. It does have good shift points at full throttle and downshifts like it should, but it doesn't seem to be as aggressive as the overkill tune in my girlfriends GTP. Hers shifts much more firmly during regular driving and seems to pull somewhat harder at lower speeds. I'm not sure if it's like that because her exhaust is all stock and has better low end tq.
I thought that was an impressive video and wanted to know what you had for mods compared to what I was running, and There is actually a big difference. Are you happy with the zzp PCM? Cause I heard their PCM tunes aren't that good.
I should say VERY lightly modified. Mods are: resonator in the exhaust deleted, cat delete, 3" downpipe, ZZP powerlog tubular exhaust manifold, JMB fenderwell cold air intake, 3.4" supercharger pulley and a ZZP tuned PCM. Engine internals are completely stock.
@DevilGTP97 what mods exactly? i actually ended up buying one from a friend. its tuned 245 to the wheels but yours seems like it has a ton! of tire spin.
@Vortec43CPI
Thanks for your comment!
The 4" JMB CAI really lets you hear the supercharger!

Prove it!
I think that's pretty damn quick for only having a few mods.

@perry244 It's not km/h, it's mph. What makes you think it's km/h ??
3859c1 3 months ago

Mods are basic. 3.4" pulley, powerlog, downpipe, no cat or resonator, CAI, tune, etc...
It does spin the tires like crazy! That was from a dead stop without using the brake.

ZZP's tuning sucks, everyone I know made better power and had better drive-ability going elsewhere for their tuning needs.

@3859c1 When I tried that app on my car it said I had 457 hp lol. It didnt work for me I guess. I tried it a bunch of times
rkjer 1 year ago
@rkjer It's touchy and you have to have all your specs entered in. Vehicle weight, including driver and gas, etc...

Sorry bro. That app fails.. this was 6.35 seconds

lightly modded holy shit dude. i test drove one and it got nothin on that. its a sick car man. i want one. keep up the good work.
