Completely incorrect!! First of all he killed the cat and hung him in a garden. His house burned down and there was a spot on the wall behind the bed that was left untouched in the shaped of a hanged cat. He accidentally killed his wife, who he did not care terribly for, and bragged to the police how strong and sturdy the wall was and tapped on wall with his cane to make his point. You Tube really is the weirdest place. Why do all of these people believe that a cat was harmed in the making of this film? Do they also believe that they are watching a real axe murder? What is this culture of "disliking" things that are offered for free? You can always watch something else. Anyone who doesn't know before they watch that 'The Black Cat' is a very nasty story seriously needs to do more reading! Extraordinary film-making, and an amazing double for EAP.

He WAS fucked up, mainly due to a lifetime of shit that no one should ever have to experience, but he only wrote the stories. He didn't kill cats, or wives, or old men. He didn't bury body parts or store corpses in walls. He was a literary genius. He wrote fiction. Grow the fuck up and read.
