  • Would someone let me know regarding the front calipers on a 2007 honda accord se 4dr sedan/4cylinder does the flat sided pin/slider go on the bottom and does the other pin/slider with the rubber piece attached on the tip go on the top?

  • Where did you get the Honda Lettering for the caliper?

  • @PVoyager

Honda Hi-Temp decals from eBay. I used G2 Epoxy to black out the calipers.

  • Holy Crap....You can get your carpet cleaned for only 19.95

  • @phatocaster

You can party like it's on sale for $19.99!

  • @ManClubAustin

LOL. Great video. I was just joking around with you. You have really good videos. Thanks, Scott

  • I was wondering what was causing the premature brake failures in Honda Accords, even before it happened to me. If you don't mind me asking, how did you know about the document that you said came with the new upgraded brakes. You installed the Autozone Duralast brakes, as I did. I'm just curious how you knew about it. I am grateful that I saw your video, I'm just a little skeptical because my local Honda parts dept. didn't know about it. I'm not criticizing. Thanks again. Please respond.

I found out about the slider pin reversal by reading on the Accord forums. Someone had posted the document, which came with their redesigned brake pads (with v-springs). It is an official Honda document. If you look in the service manual, you'll see how the pins are supposed to be installed. There's even a warning about what happens when they're not installed correctly.

If your local dealer has a the new rear brake part kit, they will probably find the document in the box.

  • Thanks so much for the video. I just changed my rear brakes today. I'm going back in to see if my pins are reversed. I made it to 23000 miles.

  • @TheJokeyp55

If you have a '08 or '09, or a very very early '10 model, they'll be swapped.

According to the service manual, "if the caliper pins are installed in the wrong location, it will cause vibration, uneven or rapid pad wear, and possibly uneven tire wear"

  • I own a 2006 honda accord v6 do i have to follow the same procedure

i'm planing to change my rear brakes on saturday for the first time i bought all the tools necesary. can you give me some pointers

  • @lakerone2010

You will not be required to reverse the sliding pins...keep yours in the same position that you find them. Other than that, the procedure is the same. Please check out the other video I posted...changing the rear pads. The most important tips are that you screw in the rear piston (not press it in with a clamp) and make sure to note the orientation of the "+" in the rear caliper and put it back the same way you found it!

  • can you link the document?

i cant seem to find it

  • @TheDrk92

Youtube comments don't allow links. So I've added a link to the video description. Simply click the "Show More" button and you'll see it @ the bottom.

  • @ManClubAustin

    much help

    couldnt find it on da.net

    THANKS!

  • So that's it? By simply reversing the pins, the pads won't prematurely wear now? Way too easy. Thanks for doing this vid, man.

  • @jtnoodle

I wish it was that much...this is a piece to the puzzle. In addition, Honda has added V springs on the leading edge of the rear brakes. But honestly, I think we're just gonna have to deal with rear brake wear as Accord owners, unless somebody comes out with a larger aftermarket replacement that is affordable.

  • good

  • nice rims bro
