  • Does the same method apply to tincture of iodine? PLEASE REPLY ASAP !!!

  • is there a way one can use red cabbage juice to get the same results?

  • is Indophenol the same as Methylene blue?

I use Methylene blue to test for Perchlorates after an electrolysis

of Sodium Chloride (NaCl -> NaClO3 -> NaClO4) then Metathesized with KCl to make KClO4. (Potassium Perchlorate)

  • @TheBombBros Methylene blue is a different chemical and isn't used as an indicator for food chemistry although it has many other uses.

  • do you use this same method, to measure the amount of vitamin c in diffrent type of orange juice (fresh-squeezed, premium, and concentrated) to see which contain the most amount of vitamin c.PLEASE HELP!

  • @alisongeo5 This test is actually not quantitative so you cannot measure how much vitamin c is each -- you can might be able to tell by color differences if one has more than the other, but this is not a good method to tell for sure how much one has.

  • Was either of the fruits used in this experiment, irradiated?

  • @HumanSayNo Nope! Definitely just normal.

  • does this work for vitamin c tablets or liquid too?

  • @karimiscool2 You could dissolve vitamin c tablets in liquid and use that. The test will also work for a liquid form of vitamin c. Maybe try on of those vitamin c drinks?

  • Great camera presence, great voice, great attitude - pleasant to watch - succinct, just the facts, without any filler gibberish and/or nonsensical babbling. Refreshing. Great smile. Intelligent. Keep going and then get a cable access show.

  • Hi, thanks for the useful information. One question: can we use pure iodine instead of indophenol? Thanks, Olivia

  • Are there tests for comparing the vitamin C content before and after cooking fruit or vegetables???

  • where do you purchase indophenol?

  • you can get indophenol from online science suppliers (Home Science Tools sells it).

  • wow i never thought that orange contains more vitamin c than lemon... thanks i was clarified :D...

PS: but really, lemon taste sour than orange... :P

  • bitterness isnt all caused by citric acid content - orange juice is far more corrosive.

  • thats because of lemon also contains ciric acid... (more then orange, but less vitamin C) ;-)

  • Thanks for the video, simple and straight to the point.
