  • My theory is the cleaner, and well maintained gear will protect you better then dirty fucked up gear just because it looks 'bad ass'. Take good care of your gear and it will take good care of you. No need to burn it so you can get 'props' for 'taking the heat'. As a firefighter we preach safety so do what ever you can to live by that standard.

  • Everyone relax!.........Don't hate. Educate.

  • what kind of irresponsible BULLSHIT is this? Seriously. Drop that guy out of the program now, before he endangers a citizen's life, not just his own.

  • There are better ways to get your helmet crusty..

  • I have been in a situation where I stopped short of the front door, thinking this one might be too much. I had a crew pass me by and went on in. A minute later they all ran out with their gear on fire. I'm happy I made that choice, but at first I thought I might have just been chicken.

  • Always Americans. !!

  • Another example of a volunteer fireman

  • @JohnConnor333 Not all of us are that stupid. That right there is just lack of training and a I don't give a shit attitude. And a group of firefighters who doesn't have the best of leaders. I am a volunteer fire fighter and my chief would have kicked me off the dept, or anyone else off for doing something like that. BTW paid or volunteer, doesn't matter. There are paid FF that do stupid shit to.

  • @JohnConnor333 But I do admit this one is stupid

  • @JohnConnor333 ...Your as stupid as the guy that went in there...Some places can't afford stay-in stations. So instead of keeping volunteer stations, lets ban them. No fire protection at all.

  • @JohnConnor333 and who are you??

  • @JohnConnor333

Excuse me? What kind of dope are you? Our county is 80% vol and we are all national cert NPQ 1&2 and go through the same training each year as the paid FF's. We must have our core comps and 170+ hrs training every year just like everyone else in this state.

The guy in this video is just a complete moron with a death wish, please don't compare or relate to "vol FF's". Get a grip.

  • @JohnConnor333 The department I'm at trains just as much if not more than any paid department. Black white hispanic male female volunteer paid, we all have the same goal in mind we all do this job, we sweat bleed and when its our time we lay our lives down together, a brother is a brother no matter what, one day it may be a volunteer pulling your ass out of a tricky situation.

  • tsk tsk... 101 ways for a firefighter to die excuse 42

  • I like how he goes in all tuff then comes running. Out on fire like. A bitch

  • Well, I bet he'll never do that again.

  • Fucking stupid

  • brave and stupid are different

  • The building was starting to flashover, god dam stupid people.

  • Wearing a flash hood, it's easy to misjudge just how much heat is evolving from that room, especially while outside. As he entered the building, he pushed some air in through the doorway, with obvious result. I would recommend another hand line be ready before trying that! It's only Nomex, not a super suit!

  • @campy9sp Just want to clarify- that line in front of the door should be manned, note the delay in getting water flowing.

  • @RickOFtheJames the 1403 they are talking about is the NFPA standard for live fire training evolutions

  • probably bben asked and answered already, but what 1403 standard in the description

  • He should get thrown off the fire department. He not only put his life in danger, but he put the lives of his fellow firemen in jeopardy. And what is it with this department, feeding the fire? Are they arsonists? I bet they set the fire.

  • @glmike523 I bet they did too, because it's obviously a training fire.

I do wonder why they seemed to be only throwing in stuff that will release toxic fumes when burned.

  • @glmike523 It was a training that went wrong. What happens is these departments get approval to burn down buildings that are condemned for training. It's better he pulled this jackass stunt here rather than somewhere else.

  • This is due to lack of training and common sense. Volly or Career...doesn't matter.

  • wow I haven't done Structual in some time mainly Aircraft Fire Fighting but I know when and this was an Epic Fail!!

  • It transitioned right about when he walked in. Obviously thought his gear turned him into superman. He is lucky to still be amongst us.

  • im not a firefighter or anything, but wasn't this room in "Flash Over"?

  • @beatchildproductions a flash over is the moment when everything is so hot that objects enter in pyrolisis and auto ignite with no direct fire what happened there was just a moment of complete combustion so you can actually tell if a flash over happened in there because you didnt see it, you can only asume there was one by the speed of combustion ;)

  • Lack of common sense.

  • how stupid do u get

  • WTF. This is a leader-less group, or THAT wouldn't have happened. Everybody goes home from a training exercise or a response - unless you're an idiot.

  • Umm yea turn in your gear now! Lol

  • @huck918 What gear? It just got burnt up!

  • @sirMAXX77 It's the NFPA standard set for Live Fire Training Evolutions.

  • whats a 1403?

  • @sirMAXX77 Should be the NFPA code.

  • I've been a vol firefighter for almost 10 years and I am Captain on our Department, but there is NO REASON what so ever for this guy to do what he did. Volunteer or paid, this is an EXTREMELY dumb move and he would have been suspended or kicked by doing this. It's just irresponsible...

  • At least the didn't turn the hose on him like a bunch of other dumbasses in the the other video on this channel.

  • I can think of way better ways to get your gear "salty" that doesn't involve burning to death or harming myself or others..

  • This is the dumbest thing i've ever seen. Seriously, you could tell this guy wasn't thinking at all. Every firefighter, wether Career, or Volunteer (which the majority of firefighters are) knows it's all about Saftey First.

  • WOW! that could of been bad! Having been both a Volunteer and Career FF, i know this is just lack of knowledge/training on a Volunteer dept!

  • That is just one HUGE MORONIC set of mistakes by that FF,What The FUCK was he thinking?

  • Man...I would have been thrown out of my department so fast my head would spin if I had done that.

  • IDIOT!!

  • *in Mickey Mouse voice*: "I'm a real fireman!!!!"

  • It's not about paid or volunteer, it's about common sense and situational awareness. I'm a 21 year paid vet of the 7th largest City and anyone is prone to mistakes but this appears to be a live fire training evolution and whether an actual response or training, fire acts the same and will hand you your ass if you are complacent.

  • Well he knows never to do that again

  • What difference does it make whether he was paid or vollie? Go watch the video where the 2 ffs from dc get burned doing a sprinkler demo I do believe dcfd is paid.. being a paid ff just means your in it for the money and don't bullshit me because the first time the city makes cut backs boom its to hell with fires let's hit the pickets

  • As my old retired boss would say...."they suffer from head in ass disease". or your can just say volunteers.

  • @Ziggyarey

then i guess more than 71% of firemen have that disease. moron more than half this country is vol

  • Wow, I've never seen so much bashing between fellow FF's. It's really quite sad. Last time I checked there is no such thing as a career fire or a volunteer fire. Fire is fire, plain and simple. I've been paid for a couple of years, and while traveling on the east coast, visited several vol. fire companies, and their equipment and training were top notch. As good as our dept, and we have 42 stations, train every day of the tour and I would proudly fight a fire with those guys any day of the year

  • wow paid bashing us vollys, hell on my department, we are 100% ff1 and structure fire cerifited, 100% NIMS compilaint, 85% EMT and the rest first responder, but you know we are undertrained cellar savers right?

  • Once again fire kit will burn basic training

  • lol I love how people bash on the volunteers. Let's see where you career folk would be if all the volunteers said fuck it and stopped... Good luck!

  • Wow???? I think he learned his lesson without help from the peanut gallery lol...fire is hot!!! How crispy did his ears get after idk about 5 seconds. Burns heal but why do you want them for no reason haha. Wait for a hose line. Why go home any different than the way you went to work. Be Safe Brothers

  • to edboze, well we had a structure on a shitty road a mile in the woods and it was burning for awhile we kept to area of orgin, on arrival we had a report that 2 ppl could be in building we did primary search on 2 floors before knocking out the fire, not bad for a bunch of vollies

  • I am a volunteer ff and have been now for 16 years. IF we every tried something like this it would have been an instant suspension if not removal from the department. You will find alot of volunteer departments are just as if not more professional than a full time department. My department trains on average 10 - 16 hours per month. Firefighters not attending at least 6 hours may not be allowed to participate. Please do not judge us all as fire breathing idiots -- we are not! Stay safe bretheren.

  • ive been a volly for 2 years now and ive took both my firefighter one and my firefighter two courses which is required by city depts here in nys ive gone through the same training and same classes as career firefighters so quit bashing on us. its the reckless a retarded clowns like this idiot that 1 become a statistic and 2 get kicked out of our dept so quick their head spins. and for the dick biscuit that thinks all we are is cellar savers we have faster response times than the city boys

  • ok fellow firefighters we're suppose to be united as a brotherhood. Volunteer or Paid it doesnt matter. this guy was freelancing. everyone has done it in one way shape or form. yeah it was dumb but seriously the bashing on each other should stop.

  • Many of the vollys never see then inside of a burning structure... by the time they arrive in their pick up truck with light bar and wig wags they are in defensive operation mode. It then becomes a save the foundation instead of save the structure.

  • @edboze excuse me? In my FD i think almost everybody thats class A <Same as FDNY firefighters btw. Have seen the inside of a burning building because our average time to extinguish a fire is 6-10 minutes. We don't get a chance to see the foundation because all that perfect house is sitting above it. cept the location the fire started and spread 2 quickly of course. We never lost a house to the ground and were completely volly.

  • Let's not start the whole volley vs career thing. I'm a volunteer and will be going career in the next couple months. I've been around the fire service my entire life and this isn't a volley or career thing this is just a dumbass thing..

  • Ten years in the fire service and this guy is the dumbest fireman I've ever seen!! Really!!

  • and by the way i have huge repect for all volunteer ff's for doing this job without pay. but a large percentage of this kind of stupid behavior comes from volunteer departments and there is a reason for that.

  • @spazzbite13 I'm not trying to get into an argument with you, I'm just going to tell you this. The reason that the reason a large percentage of dumb things are done by volunteers is because a large percentage of Firefighters are volunteers. 71% of FF in the US are volunteers so it makes sense that this would be the case. Once again, I'm not arguing, I'm agreeing with you. However, it is not because we are unqualified, it's bc we outnumber career firefighters by a long shot.

  • sammy you need to go back to school to learn how to spell... plain and simple most volunteer ff's do not have the same extensive ongoing training as a career ff. and the biggest tool lacking to a volly is experience.. lets not pretend that volly's are as qualified either. the competition to become a career ff is huge which is why only the most qualified, and physically capable people are selected. where as volly's have little competition.. these are facts. lets not ignore them.

  • This is completley upserd Im a NFPA Level II Fire Fighter in a Vol Fire and an Instructor at the local Fire Academe.y This is stupid for someone to go inside a fully involved house fire just to char yr helmet.. Charing will structially weaken yr protection and damage yr turnout gear If I was any safety officer on there I would of had a good talk to the individual for being careless and reckless. and possiblity of booting them out

  • No one with the proper training and mind set would walk into that. Firemen are not thrill seekers (for the most part) and don't think they are invincible. As a "volly", i study and learn and practice to make sure that i do the exact opposite of this chucko when on scene. We don't get on roofs if the fires in the attic, we don't go inside on risky fires unless there are possible S&R situations, and we don't throw fuel into a fire and then walk in. What a tool.

  • @mackkaos

It's my experience that most firefighters are thrill seekers. This doesn't preclude common sense, like flashover = hot.

  • @JSheepherder I won't deny that the adrenaline gets going quite a bit, but not everyone who fights fires is a thrill seeker (especially when you see first hand what fire does to flesh. It loses it's "romance" very quickly) 50% of the USA by population and 90% by area is covered by volunteer organizations. Most people on the squad are family men and women who know that if they don't do it, no one will. I have helped save 2 of my family friends houses. that is where the thrill lies.

  • I'm in school right now for this and I still don't understand why their are so many videos of people doing stupid needless shit like this.. I'll be happy if my helmet stays looking good.

  • I think for like the 1st 10 seconds he thought he was Superman. **THUMBS UP IF U AGREE**

  • way to go dumb dumb.... vol or not this is show n in classes of what not to do ....keep it up ill get ya one day dumb dumb

  • What an IDIOT! That takes a good chunk of the cake. OMG......I have some village idiots on my dept. but WOW!

  • why did he go in anyways?

  • Rule # 1 In event of a fire, Get everyone out QUICKLY! Rule # 2 DO-NOT go back into a BURNING building! Even though they are supposedly trained, too much can go wrong too quick!

  • "Alright let's do this... LEEROYYYYYY JENKINSSSSSSSSS"

"oh my god he just went in..."

  • @nmanyo i cant believe he walked right in there, standing straight up. and threw cushions at the entrance non the less

  • and people sometimes wonder how firefighters die. stay safe out there brothers/sisters leanr form this video

  • Fukin Retards

  • He thought "im a bad ass gonna show these guys how tough I am and just walk in with no line" bet you wont try that again

  • UNREAL....talk about a total lack of supervison or regard for safety on what SHOULD be a controlled and safe live burn training exercise. No wonder we continue to kill 100 firefighters a year. Our own people don't understand fire behavior or have a healthy fear of it.

  • yellow helmet says it all..

  • jackass. free lancing at its best!

  • I find the fault in the IC and training officer. We are suppose to setup and conduct training while minimizing any potential hazards to the fire fighter. Yea, its all fun and games to get your firefighters into situations that they don't get to experience until you injure or kill a firefighter. This behavior is irresponsible and dangerous! THIS IS A DEMO OF WHAT NOT TO DO!

  • He doesnt need new gear he needs a new brain because he is a fucking dumb ass he is the person that gives volunteers a bad rep and it only hurts the people around him he could get someone hurt or killed and its obveous he doesnt care or think about anyone at all. If that was me I would send his ass home and tell him not to come back he is nolonger welcome.

  • maybe he wanted new gear lol

  • dum ass, i would have got my ass kicked if i pulled that stunt,

  • this is one of the reasons you need to be trained in fire suppression. you cannot have a few of a fire suppression crew doing something stupid to put everybody in danger. it is fun until someone gets hurt and that is not allowed when dealing with a fire.

  • Really? I don't think Cris Angel would even attempt this.

  • @sittingmooseshaman are you kidding me. I belong to a volunteer dept and if one of our guys did this they would be booted. The reason no one reacted is because the leaders of this dept must be just as stupid. Gear is fire RESISTANT not fire proof. If a whole room is on fire it starts to deteriorate after 5 seconds, and in full fire gear you can only cover about 10-15 feet in that time. You do the math, you seem like a smart guy. The gear this guy is wearing should be put out of service, and th

  • @EMT630...ok, i wasn't referring to flame immersion & duration engulfment- hot suits r for that. But flare-ups- turnout protects one from that- the trouble was in the door way; It appears the other side of the room was apparently clear. Yes, what was he thinking!

I'm pissed @ the shit-attitudes displayed towards these guys from these immature brats. Yeah, joking is fun. Satire is cool. T'r's no excuse 4 heartless mockery- especially when it's towards those who voluntarily put it on the line.

  • @SittingMooseShaman you said it we command more respect!!!!!

  • This appears to be a training burn @ an abandoned house- very common in rural American communities And don't call 'em "freaking morons"... If ever you fuck-up along the country mile- these are the guys who must go out @ any and all hours to pull your sorry smart-ass out of a wreck and start medical treatment. You'll notice in the vid- no one was bothered at all over his 'fire-walk' ; It's what the gear is made for... way too many immature spoiled white brats playing around on these threads...

  • @SittingMooseShaman actually that is NOT what the gear is made for. Turnout gear is not made for direct flame contact, and is not fire proof it is designed to keep your body heat in and the ambient heat out!

  • Crack has had no long term effects on this boy

  • OOps i forgot the house was on fire!

  • what a booger eating moron!!!! FIRED!!!!FIRED!!!!FIRED!!!! thats how people DIE

  • are these people firefighters or just some random vagrant bums?

  • ... no! What just happened HAS GOT to be film-shop editing! Who trained this crew?

Pile cushions upon porch... then jump into fire? Shit, no wonder firemens' insurance is so difficult to get...

  • Stupid ,stupid, man!

  • SUCH AN IDIOT

  • That is the stupidest thing anyone could have ever done

  • is his helmet red? because i know where i come from that means your a company officer.. i woulnt want this guy leading me into a fire... nor when i become a company officer would not even think of doing this... thats scary he is going to get himself or his crew members dead.

  • holly hell thats insane i hope he got fired or kicked off.

  • If you want to get your helmet "crusty" all you have to do is hold it over something like a cardboard box or whatever .. at your house .. in the driveway .. as its burning and let it get the soot on it or whatever you think is necessary to make you look like a cracker-jack fire fighter... duhhh

  • come one where is this guys brain at.... in his ass?!?!?!

  • lol dum ass shit happens

  • 2 in, 2 out. That's how our dept. puts it.

  • @TheFirefighter2000 same here

  • What a great idea, lets just wonder into a developing fire and get caught in a flashover. DICK.

  • If that individual did this on my platoon, the unemployment line would be one person longer in the next 30 seconds------IDIOT!!!!!

  • "im just gonna go in there real quick and get my turnout gear a little dirty be right back guys" lmfao wtf was he thinking death wish anyone

  • "Shit forgot something, be right back guys"

  • WHY..

  • cock

  • WTF!!!! I don't like a nice clean and shiny helmet either but come on! Use your head and quit being so stupid!

  • I've got to say, to the bashing of Vol. FF's, in most parts of the country vol. ff's are required to have the same training as career. Not to mention they give up a good part of their lives to this job and risk the same ass as the rest of us except with no pay. Doesn't matter one way or the other...this was an obvious reckless and stupid move.

  • @mcconnellch Tell you what... Ive got more respect for vol ff..because they risk their life just like any other fire dept and they dont ask for any pay. My dads been a vol ff for over 30 years now.

  • @pmanson0624 The question becomes how many would volunteer in a BIG city setting like NYC,CHI or LA,knowing they would not be getting a paycheck????

You would get SOME but not as many as you would if you tied a decent wage & benefit package to it.

And lets face it,you need a job that pays in order to survive.

But you father is to be commended.

I'm not sure on the exact numbers but there are more vollies than there are paid members.

  • @3hzteams More than you think would be my guess. many of my uncles and cousins are all firemen/EMT's in a small Minnesota town and for them it is mnore of a lifestyle than a career. Those men/women share a bond that few would ever understand. They have to trust each other with their lives everytime they go into a fire. My deepest respect to those who risk their own lives for people they have most likely never met!!!

  • @pmanson0624 Thats just lack of training, pure and simple!

  • @mobhit no argument there. I would say lack of judgement too

  • "I'm OK... I'm OK!!! Steam burn is nice!! Just wanted to get my new helmet crusty, mate!......... Fuck..... my watch is melted to my arm!"

  • This guy must really hate his fire suit.

  • wow, what a training, use some sense.

  • one thing why in the world would he not look up and see the the fire and the way it was burning and wheres the safety/training officer????

    well you cant fix stupid.

  • Looked like this was a training burn. It looked like they were trying to get items to throw into the building to get the fire burning (cushions) when there was a flashover.

  • He went in not expecting a flash over, Simple, And look what he got, He got a nice Flash Over

  • I'm a fucking junior and i know better than that. Amazing.

  • VOLUNTEER...... Enough Said!

  • Just because you're wearing a fireproof suit doesn't mean you can just go walk into the fire. And you could tell by the color that that fire was HOT!!

  • 2 videos in the space of 2 mintues lol

  • what a moron. I bet it was a Buff trying to show off in front of a few Probies.

  • why is he even throwing burnable furniture pillow things in there?

  • What an effin idiot!!

  • STUPID DUMB AS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh, what some people do for a salty helmet

  • Not even cool numb skull! literaly

  • If this was an actual fire with reported entrapment it would be one thing... but since this was obviously a training fire that idiot had NO excuse for his behavior!

  • @JLJ061 even still if there was someone in that room that flashed that was trapped would be dead. so there would be no need to rush in there... risk vs benefit thats why they drill it in our heads at academy day 1

  • You Can't Fix Stupid! Guys like him have no place in the Fire Service.

  • tunnel vision could kill you

  • Another complacent moron that probably doesn't like to train on a REGULAR basis. He probably thinks he's got it all figured out! DUMB ASS!!!

  • DUMB ASS!

  • 0:31 " someone better get in there and get him! " that is just ignorance. And ignorance of officers is why firefighters get hurt.

  • Nothing wrong being a volly.. there is everything wrong with being a volly that is unwilling to learn and clearly free-lancing. this is how statistics are made people. pay attention to this retard who was compleatly oblivious to the signs around him that that room was about to become fully involved so you dont do the same. He is lucky he walked out of there with his life.

  • DUMBASS, sums it ..

  • Everyone who ever goes into a fire without hose support, is basicly a dumbass

  • @DJTRIXDK Just one comment, I arrived ahead of the trucks to a farm house fire that had 3 kids inside, with out air just turnout gear I and another fireman went in

and pulled them kids out, if we would had waited untill the pumper got there and laid hose we would not have gotten them, so please dont say if you go in without a hose your a dumbass, we just do what is needed at the time, What the guy did in this video I agree with your assement, there is times when you do what you need to do.

  • Well i have to say that a farm house fire with 3 possible entrapments doesnt justify you running into a building without ppe. What good are you to the trapped victims when you fall out at the front door of thermal inhalation??? There is no excuse for entering a building without an scba on. I do agree that a handline is not necessary (truckies do it every day) but no ppe means keep your ass on the lawn!!! Backdraft has come and gone...no need to bring bull back

  • fucking retard, and that isn't even nice to retards ,god damn this looks stupid upon our profession. Won't be long and I won't even be associated with this ignorant shit.

  • Comment removed

  • Got to be vollies...

  • @Pippy187 You talk as though you was never a volly.

  • Extraordinarily stupid.....

  • he wanted to blacken up his PPE

  • at least they have a line in place. department from upstate ny did a live burn where they sent a probie to the second floor above the fire and he ended up dying. the cheif and lt did time bc of it. its not worth it

  • are they trying to prove how bad they are by walking in to flames?

  • what a fucking dum ass go back to fire school

  • uhhmm... Mr. the room is entirely engulfed in flames, i would recommend you stay out.

  • Just a heads up, this is a rookie school in Bessemer Al, the instructors work for Bessemer, an extremely busy paid department of firefighter/ medics with 5 stations averaging 300 line fires a year and another 7000 ALS medical calls. This is proof positive that even the best, most experienced departments can hire goons.

  • volly = volunteer???

  • This can show as well vollys and paid both fuck up

  • guys like that is what gives ff's a bad image

  • Only in america........

  • Shit, forgot my flashlight.

  • haha yeah thats what im thinking

  • When your Turnout gear is smoking, your a freaking idiot. Its guys like this that have no respect for fire.

  • What an idiot you could see that thing rolling over about to flash at least get down. Training or not its still live fire

  • Its idiots like this that make guys like me look over their should at every fire call!!!
