Larry Carlton is one of his faves, so the jazzy side does come out. My sister used to date Howe II's manager and I was fortunate enough to meet him a few times. Greg said Carlton was was a huge influence on him. It was a nice change during the era of straight neo-classical robots. Greg's a killer.
Howe isn't a Becker ripoff! Becker, Howe and Kotzen was guitarbuddies before. They jused to trade licks with eacthother all the time. Perhaps that's why some of their licks was so alike.
