you're very good, but it really rubs me the wrong way that you're trying to copy joanna's voice. i can tell you've got a fabulous voice, and you shouldn't sacrifice that to imitate another singer. i would love love love to hear you do this in your own style because it would be killer.

It is interesting, because the original song stands out so much for being, for lack of a better phrase, heavily produced. There are lots of layers and rhythms. Stripping the song down to just its melody is interesting. I would try cutting your tempo in half to really change the song's feel.
