After this review, I totally expected you to say that this was your favorite game instead of Mario Kart DS. My favorite is Mario Kart Wii due to the track design and how well the AI is handled compared to previous games. I will say that the music is great, but it doesn't stand out as much as the previous games.

Right I was born in 79 so I got the best time growing up for computers and consoles and 80's cartoons! This is THE best Mario Kart - its the original and an entire summer with friends went into this getting expert like a pro - I still own my SNES its hooked up to the TV and this cart never leaves the console - Ghost valley 1 - time trial on a PAL system (NTSC ran quicker) without doing the jump (its possible with no feather) I clocked around 1:06 - trust me thats fast - I heart this game!

My absolute favorite would have to be Mario Kart 64, it revolutionized and enhanced the Mario Kart experience we love and cherish to this day. Not to mention my family has put hours and hours into that game alone. Great reviews btw

A buddy and I used to go to the battle stage with the pools, grab feathers and jump into the pools with a power up block or 2 and look for green shells. We would then fire off a shell and see who could survive it and not jump out(gotta love the pesky yellow jump pads) Good times!

I just got this game from club nintendo for 100 coins and it was fun game and gave me some nostalgia and awesome review but I have a question with the Unlimited weapons so far I've only saw Luigi did it. In ghost valley 2 he used a star 4 times and 3 times on Koopa Beach. From since I've been playing it has always been luigi so I think that he has a bug. So Knightwing did u see other charcters did it im just asking.

My favourite has to be Mario Kart DS. Why you ask, because the retro stages were hand selected to perfection. The only downfall that game had was snaking with the drift boost. Also, thats when they nailed the mechanics for all Mario Kart games to come. The Kart control worked so well with the D-Pad. All MK games before were so loose when it came to turning and drifting. MK Wii and MK7 both run under the DS engine. Now MK7 would be my fav only if the stages had the power up shortcuts MKDS has.

I got to play this at my mates house when I was 13 never before had I played a snes! I became an instant addict and was lucky enough to get a snes with mario kart myself. An instant classic. I used to love the battle modes which oddly enough didn't cause any frustration if I lost. I loved the fun competitive nature of the gp races and although i was pretty much an average player I found 2 players can easily unlock the secret gps

My favourite of when the game itself came out is the N64 verision, as for poppin it in and playing with some friends, I'd have to go with double dash. It's just that much faster, chaotic and fun

The gameplay, the challenge, the music, they all solidified the game for me, and Mario Kart would become one of my all time favorites for many years to come

I own both Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64. Between the two, I'd have to say 64 is my favorite. Better replay value in the long run.

Also, I used to get pissed off and throw my SNES controller at the wall-unit whenever I fell off of Rainbow Road on SMK...then 64 came up with the genius idea of creating rail-guards so you don't fall off.

In short, MK64 kicks ass, but SMK also kicks ass as well.

I give this review two big, hairy, Canadian THUMBS UP!

You're exactly right, I was playing this morning, just about to make it to the finish line, then all of a sudden luigi shows up, and acts like a biscuit, and keeps using his star power to stay in first place! I was so pissed, And the CPU jumping, it's just not fair! Also, Rainbow Road, Ghost Valley, and the Bowser Castle on Star cup really PISS me off! Regardless, this game is nostalgic, and it started the whole series. I Love IT! ALso, my favorite, is a clash between ds and double dash

1. Mario Kart DS (Well-balanced, huge amount of content and highly addicting)

2. Mario Kart 64 (Also well-balanced, not enough content)

3. Mario Kart Wii (Fun and creative awesome wifi, but crappy battle and balance)

4. Mario Kart Double Dash (Fun, but too gimmicky, not a fan of double karts)

5. Super Mario Kart (Classic, great memories, but personally prefer 3D karting)

6. Mario Kart Super Circuit (Good, horrible controls)

I totally agree, Mario kart ds is the best. They're all good, but the DS was exceptional and almost perfect, aside from the limiting online play which was still fun.
