@TheScotchhut stop thinking local, go and do some volunteer work in a third world country and then ask yourself how the global economy could work better for everyone
@44connected Give me the benefit of your experience, what are you suggesting? If it's one world gov, please don't reply. People have more control at a local level. When America bustles with activity the third world benefits. But the Fed and the two parties, thru bipartisanship & cronyism, corporatism & fascism, are both taking us to the same place financially - the third world. I haven't heard him say so, but I think if Ron Paul had his way, he would join no party, just as George Washington..
The only thing in Charlie Chaplin's speech here, that doesn't fit Ron Paul's positions, is the word democracy. He misuses it and like many of us, doesn't understand that what America's Constitution gave us was a republic. We vote for representatives who are supposed to be guided and limited by the Constitution. It's called the rule of law. That's where we have "lost the way" as Chaplin put it, we've allowed our representatives to promise us things that were never permitted by the Constitution.
@TheScotthutch I dont think you have a clue about his views or what causes what. So many things contradicted. For example that we MUST share. We HAVE to share for it to be enough resources, they MUST be dealt out where they are needed.
To top it of, have you even studied Charlie or history? In 1942 charlie proposed opening a new european front to SUPPORT the Soviet Union. Go back a 150 years and look at your precious libertarian time. It wasnt better, it was worse.
@gulbirk I have no interest in communist dogma, any kind of totalitarianism, or the political beliefs of Charlie Chaplin. I commented on the speech in this video, on this page. There is nothing even remotely socialist or totalitarian about it. Individual freedom and liberty was the whole idea throughout the speech.
I'm not sure what you mean "it" was better 150 yrs ago and I'm not sure you do, either. I can easily see what happened after we followed socialist principles and Keynesian economics.
@TheScotthutch If you think it was better 150 years ago, I would recomend going to the doctor and getting you checked.
What about the thing he said about resources for all? Are you even aware of what conservatism normally advocates? It doesnt advocate sharing at all. In fact, it advocates the exact opposite. And dont bring up the charity bullshit, because thats just plain stupid.
@gulbirk go back to school and learn composition, and some political science while you're at it. Where did "conservatism " suddenly come from and what the hell are you talking about, "charity bullshit" ? conservatism normally doesn't advocate sharing? phew, never mind, this conversation is over.
@gulbirk co2 is a greenHG because it allows earth to warm with visible daytime sunlight but blocks or slows the infrared radiating from earth at night. If it's only one out of 5000 molecules, how? Water vapor & clouds are much more plentiful & powerful as GHG than co2. But water vapor's not man-made & can't be taxed. One way to see it: the earth is a tax farm, you & I are sheeple who produce the taxes to pay for more "climate research" & Al Gore's light bill. Thinking is free, do more of it.
@gulbirk The science of statism? Name more than two things the gov't has tried to do, that didn't wind up accomplishing the exact opposite. The U.N. was the motivation behind our bombing Libya, our gov't controlling the economy is why we're broke, and they are trying to tax co2, a gas that if increased, will increase crop yields. co2 is .04% of our atmosphere, total man-made by the wildest estimate is half. Do the math, approx. 1 out of every 5000 molecules in our atmosphere is man-made co2.
@TheScotthutch Yes, but if you had any idea of science you would know that increased numbers of CO2 does infact increase the temperature. Ok lets see. First of all, labour rules, class difference and pooverty were much worse if you go back in time. Secondly, I hate the US government and the UN, its a corrput piece of shit system based around greed. I support social democratic systems, which hardly exists anymore. It has accomplish everything you see.
@gulbirk Fair labour for people in the country. High taxes creating a just system in which everyone actually has the same oppertunities. Less class difference. Lower pooverty. etc.

@gulbirk Sorry if I was an asshole, I get frustrated sometimes.
About the Chaplin video and it's words, it is all Libertarian sounding to me, right down to using the word "reason".
Taxation is not sharing, it's confiscation. Before any gov't anywhere can do anything for anyone, the first thing it has to do is confiscate something from somebody else. Another term for Democracy is majoritarianism. Chaplin didn't say sharing, here's a vid with the text, and other scenes LOL
@TheScotthutch Its not libertarian at all, and this is why. First of all, libertarianism and free market capitalism hardly ever leads to workers rights, or a just world. In fact, to reach the things he states in this speach we must have things like restrictions, and strong unions. None of which have anything to do with libertarinism. Normally, if you study history, you see a patters. The lower taxes and more free the market is, the more un-equal society becomes.
@gulbirk He says free, freedom, and liberty 5 times. In history, never existed a more prosperous society than our capitalism. America's poor have a car, internet service, tv's, 65% of us are homeowners, 45 million of us get food stamps, there are 38 different federal food programs. You hate it and would ruin it? Income inequality is worldwide. So what if the rich get richer and the gap wider as long as the poor get richer also? Free people are never equal, and equal people are never free.
@TheScotthutch Less than half of that 65% really own their homes. The rest are debt ridden slaves, that could easily be thrown out after missing a few payments. If the rich are getting richer, and the gap is ever widening, how is it possible that the poor are getting richer also? That doesn't make any sense to me. It's time for something new. Time to redesign society, from the ground up. We don't
need anymore isms. We don't need money. We DO need to listen to Jacque Fresco the Venus Project
@coSMia2010 If you don't like money, and if you think anyone is going to design and enforce a new society without money, I have no hope for you. The gap is the middle class, how does that not make sense? If you don't like the destruction of the middle class, or people being in debt, get rid of the Fed like Ron Paul suggests. Artificially low interest rates build bubbles causing the business cycle wiping out the middle classes when it busts. Banksters borrow near 0% and buy treasuries at 3%
@TheScotthutch You shouldn't have to enforce it among the people if they want it, and it's already been designed by Jacque Fresco. (The Venus Project) "Future By Design" I don't know if you're familiar with his "Resource based economy" model, but as long as you have resources, you don't need money.
@TheScotthutch I do agree with you about the Fed and RP. I wrote to my State Senators and Congresswoman of WV about auditing the Fed. I got one positive reply, no reply from Sen. Rockefeller(no surprise) and the other Sen. "assured" me that the Board of Governors are doing a fine job overseeing the Fed. Yeah, right.
Also known as majoritarianism - democracy can be just as tyrannical as any dictatorship - a 51% majority can do what they want and the other 49% can go to hell, does that seem fair? That's why our founding fathers gave us a republic.
"If you can keep it" said Ben Franklin, and he was wise to express that doubt.
Ron Paul would get us back to following the Constitution we were given, back to equality and prosperity.
those fat cats he derides will use this one world order he dreams of to do terrible crimes against humanity, and then there will be no savior and nowhere to run. We are in an information war for consciousness now, because the goal of the controllers is to extinguish all individuality among the "useless eaters" forever, for ideas are bulletproof and it takes one thought to change the world.
Democracy is not a true system. Democracy enslaves people. people need no government .love and truth with no judging or condemning love and truth is universal with no beliefs free 1984 base on equality, with technology that supports human rights . with no governments no laws and no religions base on people and people with problems helping people not good and bad people. no voting picked like Juniors all people have a say in society not just the rich .
Charlie Chaplin was dynamic in this.I never knew he had a speaking part.Amazing how old this is(The Great Dictator Flick) and nothing hasnt changed with humanity still the same bull sh.......................................t!Ya think we learn from something like a strong flick like (The Great Dictator).Man, the people have to try to take back control from the controling Elite that make our world so horrible for humanity.
These words were first spoken by Charlie Chaplin during the second world war, and ring hauntingly true to this day. HE knew it then, We know it know. It's never to late to make a change.
"In the name of mob-rule, let us redistribute the wealth of the West to the 3rd World!!"
"In the name of 'equality', let us force people to live together who don't want to live together!!"
"In the name of TREASON, let us dissolve all national boundaries!!"
"Democracy" is a farce. America is a Constitutional Republic. A nation of LAWS, the SUPREME LAW being the Constitution. All other nations would do well to end the cries of "DEMOCRACY!" (mob rule) as well.
"democracy" is the worst sort of government, only because "anarchy" is not itself technically a kind of government.
"democracy" is the preferred form of government for the oligarch, the machinations of secret societies and conspirators, the undue influence of the wealthy, the few, and the well connected. it is the government of slaves, each as equal as the next is both their slavery and their ignorance of it.
a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC is the only gov of CIVILIZED and FREE peoples.
Thanks for Sharing & Supporting Michael!! Much appreciated

"Here at home and throughout the world people are fighting back against the forces of wealth, privilege and militarism — some because they have no choice, others because they would choose no other course but the one that leads to peace and justice." — Michael Parenti
I like this video very much, it's really a good art piece and it's very actual, still! "Solders in the name of democracy, let us unite! Solders don't fight the slavery, fight the freedom!"
I seldom repeate the video, but this one I repeated few times! :)
The text was from the closing scene of the film The Great Dictator by Charlie Chaplin, in case anyone was wondering.
I found this video a very good composition: the text and music complemented each other perfectly and the animation gave exactly the same kind of feeling that the speech gave, so the meaning wasbrought over flawlessly. Just very good.
iam sorry was the speech staged or real ? mr banzai mentioned 67 years ago but the words speaks of the present or it just seems more meaningfull todays world . i have never heard charlie chaplin speak ; such a powerfull voice .
anyway the video is amazing . you are giving humans the goodness of humanity through this technology . the use of art/tech/music and the right words can do wonders . look at comment/view ratio . well done .
@SuperNolimetangere No I wouldn't,but I'm just saying at this point with the way things are going in this country, voting can be affective in a very small way & I think we can do allot more at the state level then the federal level. The real problem is that in the federal goverment, the house the senate & even the white aren't the ones calling the shots & thats a reality your going to face, theres a documentary called shadow goverment. That lays it out, real change happens when people speak-
@SuperNolimetangere Because allot of people are fed up with how controlled are electorite is,because the establishment owns both parties I vote my self. But I choose my canidates by they're voting record,in other words I do my home work on the people I vote for,but I also know voting with in its self doesn't change things. You should read the constitution, democricy is just a word that was pounded in our heads in the public schools & its a lie!
How can this be a democracy when our leaders do what the hell they like regardless of public opposition or opinion? It is not, it is totalitarianism and an agenda our leaders subscribe to, namely the NWO. They are just yes men/women who move to the puppeteers strings. Peacefully resist, peacefully refuse to comply and we can overturn this madness.
Well said. We have the numbers and yet we allow the few to control the many, namely us. Why? we need to end all tyranny against us, we are FREE and not objects of the control of anyone. The best thing we can do is 'Get Informed' so many are not aware of what is going on, civil liberties are being eroded by the day, if we don't know about it how can we stand up to it?
Come on humanity, unite and end the rule of the 13 Reptilian bloodlines who use us for their own ends.
Well for one, if our representatives would stop trying to keep us strapped in this system, and the slow wheels have been turning for years when ever we are given something to help, they take it back, cheese, stimulaus, promise all this and get in there and take! Wow.
cool video just one problem (we dont live in a democracy and never have.people make that mistake all the time .we live in a republic.we do not make the laws like in a democracy.we appoint people to do that for us we call them (representatives) argo-republic as the pledge of allengence goes. and to the (republic) for which it stands
wow goosebump central...very moving...why do the heathen rage ? great video...big time..this needs to be heard over loud speakers at front doors of corp headquarters, govt buildings, church door steps...only if !
@crypter27 this is true. Listen to his words though. There inspiring and thoughtful. So much compassion in his heart and mind. Please take this for what it true meaning is a cry for humanity in all.
pretty cool video. great message except for the nations without borders part. for nations to not have borders they aren't nations at all nor is their sovereignty which is the core foundation of freedom from foreign tyranny. keep up the good work!!!
For a minute I thought it was from a speech written by HG Wells in "The Shape of Things to Come". We are still killing each other over the banana's in the trees when we could be learning to turn energy into banana's instead of bombs. Anyway, I and I made you to be gardeners not bombers. And I and I will get His way even if He has to beat it out of you. :)
Sadly, the speech is timeless and applies just as much in todays world.
I am absolutely floored that Charles Chaplain wrote the speech, I always knew he was brilliant as an artist but did not know this amazing side of his being.
Bless his brilliant heart and rest his soul..... I'll bet he is rolling round in his grave

@CanadianPoets Freedom"" and "equality" ? are you kidding ? thats as vague as "hope" and "change". America was designed as a Christian REPUBLIC. not a "democracy" . The founding fathers warned about democracy.= "two wolves and a sheep voting on whats for dinner." if you will not be ruled by God, you WILL be ruled by tyrants.Democracys' flaw IMO is; there is today ,no TEST for checking the qualifications of a voter.so, a dummy can cancel out an informed vote.and one vote each. cont'd
@CanadianPoets contd....the "democrats" capitalize on this flaw by busing in voters recruited from mental hospitals, rock concerts, highschools, anywhere they can find "useful idiots". Therefore "EQUALizing" those votes coming from thoroughly informed voters with Christian values. (national motto IS: in God we trust) Many Americans are just not Qualified to vote here. As Obama is NOT qualified to run here. There ARE RULES. DEMOCRACY IS AN IMITATION OF AMERICA'S GOVERNMENT. a play on words.
The nature of winning seems to make understanding seem "insane" in comparison. The nature of understanding make winning seem cruel and meaningless. It is basically the nature of hierarchy as it relates to basic truth. In hierarchy relative crediblity is not "truth" while being accepted as truth or "integrable info". Truth can be used in hierarchy but is normally skewed for profit or competive gaming for status. Truth can be lost this way.
Planetary or space orb physics seems to demand that there is an innerworld surface with the same vertical and horizontal gravity fields as the outside surface. Probably no hiearchal will agree with me on that because the nature of the secret is hierarchal as well. If anyone want's to know "the secret" about good fuel effeciency in power; just ask. It's actually simpler than what we use. We might be living and dying around poor usage of fuel and not even have a clue about the policy.
Every time i hear this speech i wonder how Mr Chaplin realized what was coming, we need more famous people to speak out and awake the sleeping masses. Great video friend, peace be with you :)
Awesome! It would have been perfect if the word "democracy" was replaced with "republic", as it should. The power should always rest in the hands of the individual people, not the Mob and their government. ;)
favorited, shared, linked, thumbs up for another outstanding video!
@Canadian291 The borders have already gone, from Egypt to tunisia, to Yemen to, Greece and Spain, we are all cheering each other on as one undividable collective.
Again, I ask how you fight this. You cant do it using the system they created, nor by force of arms, they have the armies and the weapons, and they have the will to kill even their own to retain what they have built. Im guessing that the only thing we have is the ability to make it as comfortable as possible for us and our own. Sometimes there isnt a way to win, just a way to survive.
There is no democracy in this world never has been: Tales of the Gun---an instrument both reveered and hated --it has changed the course of history..no question and usually all politics come out the end of a barrel> eventually..ie WAR ect ect...
@curiouscrutiny ...I have lived history, no once, no where has there been a true democracy, as even in ancient & existing tribal society such as my current neighbors on the Inkineep Indian Reservation of Southern BC, Canada, there rides a chief as some sort of fall guy expected to have the collective wisdom & interest of all his/her/its worshipers at heart & interest, which is not possible to even know let alone UNderstand
~those who will not live sustainably die, you must leave my Earth now !
CANADIAN (replace with any corporate name applicable for local emancipation)
DEMOCRACY
..better to think of this enhanced communications as a possible partial remedy than a weapon as weapons destroy and CANADA the corporation (which we never owned, but were trick by belief into being subjected employees:seek robert menhard in my "letter of the law" (continued below) {but first ask yourself what ever happened to Charlie Chaplin, or has that be erased)

~now we aren't all at this level of legal UNreality yet, but it is for each & every inhabitant of our kanada to proceed (continued)
~ but it is for each & every inhabitant of our kanada to proceed by what ever example of legal & peaceful means imaginable to show the masses how they may chose to wake up form this belief induced childless state of irresponsibility and perhaps also chose to revoke the POWER OF ATTORNEY which was given under duress in ignorance & without informed consent
=none but ourselves shall ever emancipate our own minds from mental slavery, as the quest towards sentient shall always be
We were meant to be a republic yes. But the citizens voted for benefits for themselves paid for by others. They elected those who promised entitlements for them. Then the elected took the taxes and squandered them on pensions and graft. What we now have is totalitarianism. We the people are we the criminals now if we ask what is going on. Every democracy ends in totalitarianism and that is why we were founded as a republic!
The problem with even a true democracy here in the U.S. is that the ruling majority remains dumbed-down. The cooperation of mainstream media with corporate and government interests always steers the majority to want what they they're told to want, so even a majority rule is a hopeless situation in today's world. Restoring the Republic is our only hope. We must reclaim our constitutional rights, decriminalize victimless acts, and hold accountable those who have victimized billions near and far.
@usexoticsltd GOD DAME.......THE USA IS NOT A FUCKING DEMOCRACY ...IT IS A REPUBLIC ..OUR FOUNDERS DIDN'T WANT A DEMOCRACY....PLEASE GET YOUR HISTORY RIGHT! DEMOCRACY IS NOT IN ......THE CONSTITUTION DEMOCRACY IS NOT IN .....THE D.O.I. DEMOCRACY IS NOT IN ....THE BILL OF RIGHTS
@DOCSAFETUBE I wasn't claiming that we are a democracy, I was commenting on how a democracy would work here. I see now that the way I had worded my comment might give a different impression though. I'm well aware of what we're supposed to be vs. what we are vs. what our people think we are.... so I understand your frustration, I don't take it personally.
I hope this 'passing of greed' will come to fruition for humanity. It is sad to think Chaplin's awe inspiring speech is over 70 years old, and how little has changed since it was written. If anything, the world has gotten greedier, more corrupt, more... well you know the rest.
Alas, we are back to square one. We the little people find it difficult to find any purpose or meaning to this mad world. We live in a world of haves and have nots. I sit here and wait. Just waiting... for what I know not
and under the REPUBLIC for which i stand. very very cool video man. not sure how you do it, but very cool. and the message more important. except i though t democracy was 51% rule and the other 49..."well i wouldn't want to be them..." Aaron Russo

@CanadianPoets Freedom"" and "equality" ? are you kidding ? thats as vague as "hope" and "change". America was designed as a Christian REPUBLIC. not a "democracy" . The founding fathers warned about democracy.= "two wolves and a sheep voting on whats for dinner." if you will not be ruled by God, you WILL be ruled by tyrants.Democracys' flaw IMO is; there is today ,no TEST for checking the qualifications of a voter.so, a dummy can cancel out an informed vote.and one vote each. cont'd
pachuansam 9 months ago

Truth can be lost this way.
hypnofan35 9 months ago
Planetary or space orb physics seems to demand that there is an innerworld surface with the same vertical and horizontal gravity fields as the outside surface. Probably no hiearchal will agree with me on that because the nature of the secret is hierarchal as well. If anyone want's to know "the secret" about good fuel effeciency in power; just ask. It's actually simpler than what we use. We might be living and dying around poor usage of fuel and not even have a clue about the policy.

@DOCSAFETUBE I wasn't claiming that we are a democracy, I was commenting on how a democracy would work here. I see now that the way I had worded my comment might give a different impression though.
