Yes, polygamy was practiced in the Bible and it was practiced by God's holy prophets. Doctrine may change just as the levitical law was surpassed my Christ holy law.

Not only that it's improtant to remember that MOST of the marriages in the Bible are polygamists. God blessed Abraham and supported his polygamy. That is a fact you can not change about the Bible.

If it's only the men in your church that are allowed to commit polygamy and you believe it's right, don't you think you're being unfair to your women? In John 17:11 Jesus said "That they may become one as we are one" Of course he didn't mean they they become a meshed together all in one God, he meant purpose. So the man and woman become one in purpose, goals and ideas, its the some meaning when they marry, and Jesus never condemned polygamy but knew it was needed during some times and sometimes not, if not then how come it was condoned before? I'm sure we'll know the importance of it in the next life when it is perfected by God.

Joseph smith translated the book of Mormon by the power of God. Any man not knowing must read the book of mormon for themselves to see if Joseph was really a prophet.

All converts to the church, and our ancestors included, must read, ponder and pray for a witness of the spirit to know the truth.

Biblically speaking - polygamy is right in the sight of God when he commands it.

Thus, the question is not whether or not polygamy was okay in the case of Joseph Smith, God has already established that it is okay.

The question is whether or not Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. If so, then polygamy as practice by him is fine.

I disagree with you that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. If he was, then he would have taught you faithfully the true tenet of God concerning marriage. Let's read.

Nowhere in the Bible we could find that the prophets of God, even in the old times, taught their adherents to marry as many as they can, particularly the leaders God established in the latter days.

How can a man say that 13 million of their members world wide does not practice polygamy...Does he have any substantial evidence or report? Im just asking.. Do he know all of the 13 million members? For sure its not..my advise read the bible and listen to all religious leaders to know the real TRUTH..

The Mormons.. or Latter Day Saints.. have not practiced polygamy in over 100 years. Those who continue to say we do are mistaken. There are split off groups of the church who do.. but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.. headquarted in Salt Lake City Utah.. who have 13 million members world wide.. does not practice polygamy. Now.. do we have that straight? :-)

Mr. Nirom is correct. The LDS have NOT practiced Plural marriage since 1906. That does NOT mean that is NOT of God.

Isaiah 4:1 Plural marriage will be reinstated by God when the 2nd coming and God reigns on the earth.
