  • Well this puts a damper on me becoming a MAC Freelance make-up artist. I mean I KNEW but I didn't REALLY know. Now I know this ish will not be happenin' at the Nordstrom's MAC artists. They keep their people fed. It is almost as if you would benefit more from a pro membership LOL. At least those have classes haha

  • Man. That's some bullshit. I bet you were upset.

  • Does this pay well? and does it cover mileage?

  • you have to to proactive and go in and let them know that hey your alive, call me, because if you are just waiting they wont know what is going on, so its also still your job to call them and see if anything is available, and call all store locations, and where are you from too.?

  • Big up, Sean Paul...lol

@Toohot2breal25...Thanks for the tips. Any advice on how to become a qualified makeup artist?? Like what makeup schools are exemplary...

Lastly, your lips look amazing with that colour...What is it??

    ★★★Much love from Antigua★★★

  • I'm actually about to start the application process to become a freelance artist for MAC and I found this VERY helpful! Thank you soooooo much!!!!!! ^_^

  • What if you have a 9-5 job and can only freelance for them on your days off which are weekends? Also, do you only use MAC when you freelance for them and does that mean you have to buy all mac makeup even if you already have your own kit? Also, does freelancing for them only mean filling in at the store or do you get to go on photo shoots?

  • @iamjess03 They call it 'freelance' but really you're just an 'on-call' makeup artist at the counter. All brushes, makeup, ect is supplied there. You bring nothing but yourself.

  • @BeautyFetish Do you normally bring your own brushes if you are permanent???

  • Is there no training just for a freelance makeup artist or for all employees that work for mac?

  • thanks for your tips!

  • thanks for your honesty!!

  • Thanks so much for your help! I'm a super duper nervous person and I was offered a freelance mac job yesterday and even though I was really excited, I was like "what do I do?!!!" and started freaking out. Your video was really helpful. :-D

  • How long did you have to wait before you got your employee number?????

  • @GioFeline Thats what I'm going through too! Its taking FOREVER! I filled out paperwork a month ago and still no phone call. =/ its irritating.

  • Extremely helpful video!!! I have an interview this thursday as a MAC freelance artist, do they get any benefits such as discounts or gratis that full-time positions at the counter get?

  • great tips! :) thanks for sharing!

  • I love, love your gloss.. Can you tell what brand it is?

  • @msaunsha its actually the viva glam Cindy Lauper lipstick from Mac with gloss over it

  • I want to interview with them soon so I'll definitely keep your tips in mind if the option of freelance comes up when I go... thanks for sharing!
