Just found this gem!! Great pacing shot, only wished it was a bit longer. You can see her visibly accelerate around the 2.00 mark and with lots of power to spare. Pity the stanier whistle was not one of the better features on his locos. Many thanks for posting. Regards Dave.
Everyone's said it pretty much but this is a truly unique piece of footage of (arguably) one of the most impressive British steam locomotives ever. Loved the Duchesses when I was a kid in the '50s and had a great run behind 6233 from Crewe to Carlisle and back in May 2009. Absolutely nothing like it. Any more pacing videos out there?
I'm an Australian myself and always a big fan of USA's finest 4-8-4s, but I always love 'em Duchess class of British land.....such a handsome triple puffer eh? Yes, I agree it is a top notch video......
I have only just seen your comment but thankyou for it on the` Duchess`, no sorry I do not have any of A4`s but if you are into foreign steam then I have some which might interest you !!
My friens and I were following her in a campervan at about 50 mph, I love this sequence, thankyou for your comments,I will be adding more video later, which part of the country do you live in?

Great. This engine has tremendous reserves of power. It was running virtually in mid-gear and with a clean exhaust.

You timed that to perfection, managed to get on the A55 at just the right moment. Nice one.

Brilliant... I think if I'd have taken a shot of 6233 as good as this, it would be my favourite too. Thanks for sharing.

thanks linesider, I have just watched your vid of `Duke` on the Cumbrian coast, great location, what editing software do you use?
adethesteam2007 4 years ago
Cheers. The software I use is Pinnacle Studio version 9.

it seems to give better results than the program I use, what sort of price range for that software?
adethesteam2007 4 years ago
You can get it for about £50 now, possibly less on ebay. Like any program it can be fickle, but I've generally been really pleased with it.
