My view: the Daring's are the finest looking Destroyers ever built. Served on Voyager 63/64, action station the gun laying table in the TS & Vendetta 68. They looked much better B4 modernisation, with torp tubes & Bofors everywhere. Who was yr dad 01649?
I saw Duchess and Vendetta in Wellington harbour in l977. By then Duchess had a deckhouse in place of X turret and a streamilined funnel. Interesting the British put MRS3 on a the main director about 1961 , I assume the original glasshouse 275 used by the RN and RAN was hopelessly unreliable, so difficult to know how useful the Darings were in the RAN before the M22 refit in the late 60's.
