  • He has no IDEA what Prager is talking about. TYT is terribly stupid.

  • Well, if TYT getting anything Prager says remotely correct was measured in batting average, they'd not even make the cut in Pinto 7 coach pitch.

Not even if their dad was the team manager.

  • Prager's body language and tone remind me of Mussolini in this video!

  • Denis Prager's values ARE European -that is pre-revolutionary Europe: elitist(monarchism or plutocratic aristocracy). He is Unamerican.

  • Comment removed

  • I mean, how stupid can one get NOT to get Denis' Prager point. The guy completely misunderstood, flipped the whole thing upside down, and called it GOP. What an idiot. Vote GOP 2012

  • I guess we could make concert pianists equal to the rest of us by cutting off their fingers. Dennis is absolutely correct. By encouraging success, we are all better off. The successful are to be rewarded for their hard work and talent. The rest of us are better because of their efforts. This guy is long on long-windedness and short on wisdom and knowing what really matters. We are all born equal, but become more unequal each day. We are responsible for our own success and happiness.

  • all men are CREATED equal. you dont necessarily end up that way. equal justice under the law is different than trying to create equality. if you put equality before liberty, you will end up with neither. if you put liberty before equality, you will end up with a great deal of both.

  • I just know the Terrorists want the Republicans to destroy America... They won't have to wait for long...

  • Cenk is a lying liberal propagandist so outrageous that MSNBC had to fire him as well as Olbermann.

  • you libs cannot compete in an open market which provides equal opportunity. you "victims" must steal by redistribution. how is that different than slavery? you libs are idiots. get off your ass and find a job.

  • It's notable too that the DOI says "among these..." don't the conservatives keep complaining that the left keep adding rights?

  • Nice editing. Idiots fall for it every time. You edited out Dennis' saying that "equality at birth, not equality of result, is an American value". Lefties. Unbelievable.

  • This guy is a dumbass.

  • What a moron. The american revolution borrowed from the french one.

  • @TheEthanwashere The French one was AFTER the American one!!!

  • @TheEthanwashere The US constitution was ratified in 1787 and the French Revolution began in 1789!!!

  • @igystrvigy my bad. I was thinking the enlightenment which they both borrowed from.

  • dennis prager is clear, concise and accurate about the American value system. You read the Declaration of Independence which reads that all men are created equal. That means born equal but have different equalities of outcome, which means what they make of themselves. He is clear that men are created equal but must determine their own result. Im trying to understand how you dont understand him....hes quite clear.

  • @theomalley1984 Nazi Germany didn't have equality values under their law, and Jews determined their own result. We all know how it ended. God has showed us all that life is about of equality because He made us all equal, and asked us not to judge others, otherwise, we will be judge by Him with the same strenght. God bless you.

  • @TheIsrael1972 here we go with the nazi comparison. Nazi Germany didnt have a lot of things we have but that doesnt mean we go out and institute those. Values don't have to be pressed into laws anyway in order for them to be prevalent throughout society. Read what I'm saying: All men are CREATED equal, however, what they make of themselves will bring about different results, thus inequality. To say everyone should be born and remain equal for the rest of their lives is absolutely unamerican

  • @theomalley1984 The way you explain it makes a lot of sence. Anyway, I think that if we remove values from the law, we as people can have great values but terrible inhuman laws (as an example) and that will make any Country to fail. For example, in Mexico we have values outside the Law and that have made us a very corrupted Country. Yes, based in our acts or actions we will determine who we are and that makes us different between each others; I agree with that. Tks a lot for your explanation

  • Comment removed

  • @TheIsrael1972 thanks, we may still have a misunderstanding. I want our values in our laws but only to a point. It is a general value in the US respect our elders, but it is not a law to to say 'yes sir, no sir'. If we have to put in laws for everything we remove true charity from society and the state becomes our moral compass. I agree the mexican value system has taken a turn from the worse, do you think it has anything to do with the decline of catholicism in Mexico?

  • @theomalley1984 Got your point. I think that we should respect our Laws but never, ever, loosing our humanity and good will to make good and help others; some people justifies their lack of humanity in the Law. In Mexico the Catholisism is still huge, I don't think that some decline of it has to do anything with the lack of values. I'm a Christian, but have many Catholics friends, others Christians, and I've seen corrupted actions in both sides. Values and education is the problem here.

  • @theomalley1984 Continuing with this, the lack of values and education in most of our population has made us a Country of not honest people. Thieves, people that throws garbage everywere, police that receive money from corrupted people just for avoiding a ticket, huge and rich business man that gives money to our politicians. Everyone? No. There are a lot of Mexicans that have values and education and live a clean and honest life. The Law here is equal for all? No. Why? Lack of values

  • Dennis Prager explains succinctly what he means by European equality vs American equality in this 5 minute video here: youtube.com/watch?v=Nn4IH3yng4k

Obviously Prager believes in equality before the law, but he's arguing against equality of outcomes, which Obama DOES want: "Spread the wealth around", "I think at some point you've made enough money." The Young Turks know all this and owe Dennis an apology.

  • @Haggis2012 What a silly childish comment. Nose in the air? WTF! I insult you about being stupid and your response is just to continue to be stupid. It doesn't make me snooty just because I find annoying people who are willfully ignorant and righteously proud in their stupidity. A person can be average intelligence with no higher education and yet still value being well informed and value the ability to think rationally. I'm sorry you don't understand that. It truly is sad.

  • @Haggis2012 BTW my attitude isn't partisan. I learned my intellectual thinking from my conservative dad who worked in business management & who taught business management as a professor. I have intelligent discussions with my dad all the time. There are intelligent conservatives, but neither you nor Bachmann are examples of intelligent conservatives. I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings. Don't give up, little fella! If you study hard, one day maybe you can be smart too.

  • @Haggis2012 Stupid people incapable of intelligent thought don't deserve intelligent responses. However, my thoughtful analysis of Bachmann was entirely accurate. I actually wasn't joking. Have you honestly ever looked at Bachmann's face? Just ignore your love of her ideology for a moment and neutrally study her face. Anyway, this is YouTube comments. I deal with stupid people like you all the time. I save most of my intelligent thought for my blog & conversations with my intelligent friends.

  • @Haggis2012 Yes, liberals like to think. It's because of liberals valuing intelligent and rational thought that they are, as I pointed out, the most high IQ and well educated demographic in the US (their only other competition on this level would be libertarians). The difference between us is that I offered massive amount of data in support of my position and you offered nothing. If ignorance is bliss for you, then more power to you. Carry on.

  • @Haggis2012 Liberals, highest IQ & most well educated Americans, understand liberalism & the founders just fine.

  • @Haggis2012 Are you joking or are you genuinely stupid? Of course, liberals LOVE the values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Those are inherently liberal values. The founders were radically liberal for their day and were challenging the conservative status quo.

  • An American Dilemma, Gunnar Myrdal:

"For practical purposes the main norms of the American Creed as usually pronounced are centered in the belief in equality and in the rights to liberty. In the Declaration of Independence–as in the earlier Virginia Bill of Rights–equality was given the supreme rank and the rights to liberty are posited as derived from equality."

  • @MarmaladeINFP Continued:

"This logic was even more clearly expressed in Jefferson’s original formulation of the first of the “self-evident truths”: “All men are created equal and from that equal creation they derive rights inherent and unalienable, among which are the preservation of life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”"

  • Thank you sir. I'm so glad I don't live in Europe. It would be terrible to work 35 hours a week and still earn as much as Americans who work 60 hours a week. It would be terrible to have a better healthcare system and live 5 years longer than Americans. I mean, having such low crime rates that I could wander through virtually any neighborhood in a big city at midnight and feel safe would be absolutely horrible. What aren't Europeans getting. Poor, violent, sick people are the key to success.

  • He says equality of BIRTH is right, not equality of RESULTS. All are born equal, but our ends are not equal. If I choose not to work and just live on welfare, I should not be in equal living conditions as someone that works hard and strives to better themselves.

  • @lithmouth Without realizing it, you've made the central point about this issue. Equality is the fundamental issue because equality must come first. If there is no equality to begin with, there can be no equal opportunities to seek to improve one's life. Cenk was simply pointing out the obvious that the right-wing don't like to acknowledge.

  • No wonder the conservatives hate people who aren't like them so much!!! They hate blacks, hispanics, gays, non-christians, etc. Plus they kept slavery and then Jim Crow. Prager you might be right, but not completely, those values are for conservatives not 'all' americans.

  • Young Turks you really lack a convincing case. Are you just trying to throw together your stupid show? Cursory research would reveal that Prager often elucidates that Republicans believe in "equality of opportunity, not of outcome" as spread-the-wealth-around liberals advocate. It must be too refined of a distinction for you.

  • @igystrvigy Opportunity precedes outcome. If opportunity is equal, then outcomes will more closely approximate equality. If opportunity is not equal, then outcomes will more closely approximate inequality. Equality isn't a mere side factor. It is THE fundamental factor. Also, the results part is important. If a nation claims to be equal and yet consistently creates vastly unequal results, then that puts the lie to the claim. The founders didn't hold equality as an empty ideal.

  • He should have replaced America with conservative becaue historically they have been against any form of equality.

  • Everytime I see this curly haired greasy prick ramble his liberal pussie nonsense I want to puke!

  • The young turks are a bunch of liberal pussies who cut video clips and take things out of context!

  • Well, considering how Americans didn't have freedom from 2001 to 2009 I'm thinking American values mean nothing for these people.

  • @hirothemouse What are you talking about. America still does not have the freedom that it used to have. Obama signed to extend the Patriot Act. America will never be free when that is in effect.

  • @hirothemouse -11

  • @King100Joe You left such a nice comment on my profile page. What a wonderful display of your maturity! Now if you excuse me, I must leave to discuss with sane, rational people who are actually living in the 21st century.

  • @King100Joe Making abortion illegal is itself big government, as it is the government telling women what they should do with their bodies. And congratualtions. Not only have you demonstrated that you are still living in the long over Cold War, but that you are also a racist and anti-Semite. You are most definitely not civilized. Those kinds of old predjudices are dying out. The EU itself is evidence of national predjudices fading.

  • after Prager has clarified the gross misunderstanding of his comment the maker of this video should be embarrassed. the fact the video is still up is an indictment of his/her intelligence

  • Equality should be a value in life. what difference does it make who endorses what values, I think some are just universal, but that's just me.

  • @King100Joe So the government telling women what to do with their bodies isn't big government? Or the fact that the Arizona Immigration Laws allow officers to arrest suspected immigrants if they don't have papers. In other words, they can arrest on the basis of racial profiling. If they look like a Mexican and they don't have papers, then they are allowed to arrest them. Do you not see the problem with that?

By the way, the Cold War has been over for about 20 years. It's time to move on.

  • @King100Joe The pro-life hypocrisy is opposing abortion becaus ethey don't want the government telling them what to do with their bodies, or in many other cases, trying to pass anti-abortion laws with a purely religious basis for them, despite the fact that many such supporters are for smaller government.

If you haven't heard about the Arizona Immigration Laws, then you must have been living under a rock. It basicaly stated that immigrants must have immigration papers at all times. Jim Crow?

  • @King100Joe You sure about that, considering that neocons have effectively hijacked the Republican party? Considering that the only act remotely similar to what you describe is the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1996, which isn't nearly as far reaching as the PATRIOT ACT, and that the person making those claims (Bob Barr) is noted as having an anti-Clinton agenda, I'd say that information is skewed.

  • I hope this ignorant moron realize that the Founding Fathers took all their philosophy from European thinkers and the Iroquis federation...

  • @bohemianwriter1 I know. It's amusing. If you can't be amused by the ignorant bigotry, you'll spend your whole life unhappy & annoyed. All of the founders began life as Europeans. Some were born in Europe. All were British citizens. Even those not born in Europe, most had parents or grandparents born in Europe. Many of them travelled & lived in Europe. Also, the founders read and were inspired by European authors. The ideals in the founding documents all originated from European Enlightenment

  • @MarmaladeINFP

Taking things with humor, be pissed. What a choice! Yet even my patience is running thin when they keep repeating the same old drivel only a preacher or a lobbyist have put in their empty heads. What is dangerous is that millions of people believe in the bullshit, and many even act upon it.

I think it has got something to do with Billo invading my nights and disrupting my rants and writing for several months after 9.11 2001....

  • @bohemianwriter1 Well, I don't know. My patience has also run out, but I don't know what can be done about any of it. There is a shift going on and I can only hope it will lead to positive results. The liars like Limbaugh and Beck have been losing influence. I always knew they would lose influence, but I don't know what will take their place. Public opinion is progressive and liberal on many key issues. Sadly, we live in a plutocratic oligarchy where public opinion has little relevance.

  • @MarmaladeINFP

Laugh at them? Interrupting their townhall meetings, and their shows only get you arrested or the mic. switched off.

I don't think that GB & RL have as much inlfuence as they think they have. But they are still dangeroous demagogues whom needs to be whipped in their own game.

Public opinion on most cases, is like you said, progressive! But the oligarchy and their mouhbreathers don't want you to know that.

  • "it's european value!!!" and is everything non-american, un-american? :P

  • This is so vague. "Equality is not an American value"... What exactly does he mean by that? That men and women shouldn't be equal? That white people and black people shouldn't be equal? What's the point? What threat does equality (amongst who, no one knows) have against the US?

  • @alashabibti Why don't you watch his video and find out what he means? Or you could instead listen to a moron chop out what he thinks are the most offensive parts and smear Prager. Whichever.

  • Way to take Prager out of context douche bag.

Equality of OUTCOME is NOT an American value.

Equality of treatment under the law IS an American value. All men are created equal and allowed to pursue individual happiness accordingly. All men should NOT be forced into equal outcomes.

    TYT is retarded.

    TYT FAILS, and Cenk FAILS.

  • @augustc4 When did he say outcome?

  • This guy doesn't know what he's arguing against. Prager has stated MANY times his support of equality when it comes to opportunity but not with respect to results. That is a value of the left. Why else do they want more and more progressive taxes? Not once is reference even made to the qualities that Prager thinks are American. Very poorly done piece.

  • At least this guy left in the word "Creator" (That means God). Obama wouldn't even do that on two different occasions. That's progress!

Dennis Prager is right government has the obligation to protect our rights equally under the rule of law. But if we are talking about the equality of outcomes with wealth redistribution, that is not an American value and where I think most Americans draw the line.

  • @RockyR9 i thought there was a separation between church and state? oh wait thats rarely implemented any more.

  • @axey111 - I don't really understand your question. Being able to correctly state what are the actual words in the Declaration of Independence isn't a so called "separation of church and state" issue. Fact: God is mentioned 4 times in the Declaration of Independence. There is only two possibilities: 1) Obama has never studied our founding documents or 2) He is embarrassed by it and leaves out the Creator (God) on purpose.

So I stand by my statement. Thanks for the question though.

  • @RockyR9 it wasnt really a question i was being sarcastic. but there was a hidden message behind it. as for our points. 1) does he need to study them? surely knowing the basic points to uphold will be fine. studying it in detail seems to be pointless to me. and 2) he SHOULD leave it out, because he's part of the government, he should separate church from state, meaning, "god" shouldn't have anything to do with running a country, which some of you americans seem to think he does.

  • @axey111 1) Yes he does need to start studying the Declaration of Independence because it has the principles and lists the rights given to us by god. We lend the government power to then protect those rights by upholding the Constitution. 2) He shouldn't leave out or CHANGE parts of our founding documents because he's part of the government. Being part of the Government doesn't mean you loose some of your rights.

You said "you Americans"If your not American you wouldn't understand anyway.

  • What an idiot this tyt is!!! They are born equal, not ending equal. Meaning that you have the liberty to do with your life what ever you want, but the democrats want that you can not strive to get ahead in life, cuz they'll tell you what to do, raise your tax, what to eat etc etc CONTROL YOU. Make everyone equal! Don't believe it. This idiot 1st lady wants to control now what you eat... cuz you people are to stupid... think about it.

  • @snoopdec i lol'd. classic clown comment

  • @snoopdec what are you talking about "born equal, not ending equal"....americans believe that each person should enjoy equal rights throughout their entire life...(some rights are even protected after you die)

secondly...the 1st lady doesn't want to control what people eat...obese children cost the taxpayer millions of dollars...if we don't do something to curb this epidemic the country is going to go broke...

  • @dundura123 Military recruiters have even said they consider childhood obesity to be threat to national security and defense because so many of the people who want to enlist are too heavy and do not suit military requirements and must loose weight before trying to enlist again. You are right and I'm glad I'm not alone in getting it. Trying to make people aware and educate people so that they can make wise decisions does not mean one is trying to dictate or legislate what they can eat.

  • @MaryJo1950 tx..the problem with the opposition is that their views are replete with hypocrisy on so many levels...they didn't have a problem with Bush preaching abstinence only, but have a problem with Mrs. Obama preaching healthy eating....if you have an issue with BOTH Bush and Obama within the context of the role of gov't, I respect that...and we can have a serious debate..but if you ONLY have an issue with Bush...or ONLY have an issue with Obama...I can only point out your hypocrisy...

  • @dundura123 Exactly. Also, with the abstinence only issue there were people in various parts of the country not just advocating that but trying to pass laws regarding that is what be taught - that and only that. Far as I know there are no laws proposed any where in the country that would prohibit what food people can consume.

  • @snoopdec yet the same people criticizing her over promoting healthy eating saying that she wants to control you...are the same people that want to control who you have s£x with...marry....and what you consume

  • @King100Joe Meanwhile, the conservatives and far-right were busy passing the PATRIOT ACT, which infringes on civil rights, as well as the Arizona Immigration laws, which makes racial profiling legal absis for an arrest. That's some small government right there. Don't get me started on the pro-life hypocrisy either.

  • i can see what this guy is saying i dont think hes wrong, but i dont agree in tht value system socially, but i do sort of economically.

  • hahaha! Whooooooo is this little weasel who could dare to even think for a nano second that his insignificant tiny little moronic wanna be brain matter could minutely comprehend a masterful, most educated, experienced "Know What he's Talking About" Man like Mr Dennis Prager???? Gawd! You are one idiotic and embarrassingly fidgety little quack! Hey darlin, Yah You the Nerd on the screen! - Key Word there in the constitution: "Created" Equal! Ummm, Not that you get that! Too Confusing?

  • @33superstar Since you spent the vast majority on insults, your obviously insulted because he is right. Prager embarrased the hell out of himself and didnt even know it. He implied that only Republicans understand our true value of Life, Liberty, & Pursuit of Happiness. He is correct in this being an american value, but it isnt just a white american value. EVERY SINGLE US CITIZEN has the right to LIFE, LIBERTY, & PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, not only the people RepubliKKKans choose to have these rights

  • @xinecallaw ....oh yes, here we go.... just ONE more example of a simple minded, foolish person missing the important points of a subject to large for you to be commenting on. Sorry to have upset you. Just try and do one thing... Research even one thing this putz has to say about....anything, back it up for him and get back to me. K

  • equality under the law you idiot

  • @Seaworldexists Nazi Germany didn't have equality values under their law, and we all know how it ended. God has showed us all that life is about of equality because He made us all equal. God bless you.

  • @TheIsrael1972 Values are a completely arbitrary.

  • it's equality of opportunity vs equality of result you moron

  • The speaker is obviously making this point, but it was edited and clipped to this bastards liking. People are NOT equal! But are too be treated as equal under the law, because our rights come from God, and we are equal in his eyes. We are too have equal rights no equal things!

  • People are equal in the eyes of their creator, not in the eyes of men. That is why The D.I. Says "CREATED equal." That is why our Republic Government's sole purpose is to defend our "Unalienable rights." As this jerk-off stutters through the words unalienable rights, one must wonder if he even knows what it means. They are our God given rights, that are not to be taken away by man! AMONG these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. In other words, equal rights not equal things!

  • If these turkeys paid any attention to what Prager was saying, he said that equality of birth is an American value, not equality of result. As it is today, the left wants the equality of result.

This shows how shallow the left's thinking is. Everything is based on materialism and the prospect of how to redistribute it.

  • Conservatives continually get attacked by media assholes like these pathetic foreign trash. Get the fuck out of mah country you liberal douche bags and get a real job instead of a youtube channel.

  • Prager says was are all born equal but we don't end up equal... Were we end up is up to us. That is an AMERICAN value. You are ignorant and a liar. The Declaration says "all men are CREATED equal" just like Prager says... Funny how you're full of BS... What you see as equality is, I work hard and you share what I build... That is a European value.

You never "debated" Prager... he mopped the floor with you.

  • the jackass republican had said one more thing before they cut the clip, he had said at the end "Heil Hitler!" and then the crowd went crazy with applause.

  • @AUSM92

actually, you're bending the facts a little. The United States has more first generation millionaires and college graduates as a whole, but not as a percentage of population. I believe Norway has the most millionaires, and I think Singapore has the most PHDs. As a percentage of population, the United States falls far behind the entire developed world in terms of life expectancy, education, poverty, crime rates, income mobility, and in the last decade, economic growth and innovation.

  • @samugaag This is because 13% of America is black and 14% is hispanic, groups with an average IQ of 80 and 90 respectively, not alot millionaires coming out of these groups.

  • @Averyofthemain

Honestly, I can't tell if you're a troll or if you are actually this uneducated. As for the underperformance of Black Americans, I would ask you to look further into the perceived labor market theory. For Hispanics, understand that only those who are at the very bottom of the social pecking order find it necessary to abandon their homes, friends, and families to pursue a better life her in our country, thus explaining the lower IQ score in which you place so much value.

  • @samugaag Nyoooo--the IQ scores are for hispanics are not just hispanics in the US, but in the entire western hemisphere, and as far as your unsubstantiated 'perceived labor market theory' which you neither name nor cite a source, it is drek, an 80 IQ will NOT produce millionaires UNDER THE BEST CIRCUMSTANCES--this is not some kind of racist pablum, this is FACT. It is also a fact that IQ is a product of genetics and not environment. THESE ARE TRUTHS! Demonstrated.

  • stupid conservatives, always trying to screw things up with there bs.

  • @diamondthundergold Stupid conservatives? Conservatives know the difference between 'there' and 'their'.

  • @Averyofthemain see guys, this moron is a perfect example of a conservative, worrying about useless things that dont make a difference, awww is someone a little hurt by the fools conservatives are making of themseleves.

  • I think they mean completly different thing when they say equality

  • To be honest I don't know if I like the guy's value system as he didn't say anything about his values system. He sounds like the political equivalent of an Intelligent Design "advocate". Shoot holes in one side without putting anything forward. Based on that excerpt I'd say it looks like he's just intentionally engaging in petty demagoguery to try and play on people's ideas about their childish "blame America first" non-existent liberal straw-men.

  • @AUSM92 There has never been equality of opportunity in the United States.

  • @gracebasherguy92 Bullshit. Anyone who shows enough drive, initiative, moxie, hustle. smarts, and just plain "go go go" can make it here. Just because you failed to amount to anything doesn't mean shit. If you want equality, go live in Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, France, Sweden, Canada, or some other commie socialist lib shithole country and suck on some thick greasy veiny uncircumsized commie socialist cock, KOMRADE!!

  • If this is what Dennis Prager's definition of equality is, he can have it i'm glad to be an Australian with europeanized values, you can keep your idea of exceptionalism.

  • have qualifications but a rich person has money and connections to get it regardless if he's qualified. Why do you think so many kids with low high school grades get into prestigous universities who are rich, while kids with good grades but can't afford the tuition don't get in. Yes were all equal to have the same chances at success but those with money and power have a natural advantage while many working class people will rarely ever have the "opportunity" to rise about their position in life.

  • @Remus0387 so are you saying that a more qualified/ more intelligent person not be given a chance or a job because some dumb ass has connections and gets put into a job making millions while the guy who would be better suited for the job ends up working at a factory how is that right? how does that improve anything? how does that make the country a better place this is the reason why people fight for equality to give everyone a far chance so its based on what you know not who you know

  • Once again besieged by Dennis Prager fans, i understand that Prager is s scholar who is quite erudite and very intelligent but this does excuse him of criticism, which so many people here are doing because Dennis is so smart and full of substance while the left are not. Yes he believes in equality of opportunity, but not in people actually deserving equal rights. You can all have the chance to apply for a high paying job but those in the upper class have a better chance of getting it, you may

  • Equality economically or socialism is what Dennis Prager believes is not an american value, how there's different classes for a reason and for everyone to share the wealth is some european idea that the left introduced. However he never specifies what type of equality he's talking about so it could equality economically or equality by opportunity i.e civil rights, it's murky to say the least with his beautiful and ugly people waffling.

  • Republicans suck.

  • @kenballer00 Why do you bigoted morons ALWAYS have to pull polygamy and incest out of your homophobic asses?

NOBODY else ever talks about that bullshit in the same breath as SAME SEX MARRIAGE EQUALITY!

Did your Grandpappy use those retarded analogies when he insisted interracial marriage should remain against the law?

You hate mongers have absolutely no arguments, so all you keep doing is stir the shit-bucket and act like you "speak for everybody". Equality is as good as it will get for YOU!

  • Freedom leads to equality, not the other way around.

  • I wish we had equality of opportunity but we don't. We never will. There are too many regulations in this country that favor big corporations. No local, small family/town operation will ever stand a chance of success because regulation of what you can do and where you can do it is zoned and permitted. I can purchase property but it isn't my own because someone else gets to dictate what I can do on my property and in what manner I do it.Equality my ass.

  • @qzsue68 Very true. True capitalism leads to equality. Freedom breeds equality. If we are free to do with our property, our talents and our works, there would be much more equality than when the government tries to create equality (which it really doesn't because they are owned by those who seek favor). European equality is everyone throws in and takes out what they need. The problem is it doesn't work. Individual rights (which is actually redundant) is the only way to truly realize equality.

  • With freedom, we have equality. With only an equality we donot have FREEDOM, we are limited. Freedom is the key to equality. Without freedom we are not Americans we are socialist. Socialism promotes equality first and assumes freedom. A constitution such as the American Constitution, does promote equality by giveing opportuity to all to be FREE, unrestricted. Have some more coolaid dipshit and stop assuming what the Republicans stand for.

  • @gymmom67 "Without freedom we are not Americans we are socialist."

Socialism is not unAmerican and it is not anti-freedom; it is about the people having power. There have been socialists in America since the 19th century. In fact (most conservatives hate knowing this) the Pledge of Allegiance was written by socialist Francis Bellamy. In the 1910s Americans voted for a Presidential candidate named Eugene V Debs, a socialist. Also, until the 1950s Milwuakee, WI had a socialist mayor.

  • Dennis isint talking about equality of rights..... you answerd your own question. I dont want to live in a place where I have to be equil. I want to have the freedom to better myself and have more and not have the government take it away. Its obvious what he is talking about, your grasping at straws to try to put down Republicans. Thats all your side has left.

  • There are different sorts of equality in the U.S.A..

There is the equality of Opportunity. The right is pushing this as what is meant by equality. This idea is a relatively new one. Ask any minority from 40 or 50 years ago how easy it was to get a loan, a job, or have an offer taken on a house. Whether they had money, collateral, a job et al.

The left pushed for this equality through civil rights. The right has always fought to keep advantage for money and societal standing. We ALL know this.

  • The right believes in equality of opportunity. The left believes in equality of outcome. Fundamental difference.

  • We are created equal yes. But human beings are not and never will be "equal". Regardless of skin, orientation or gender, the person standing next to me is not and will never be the same as me. But we have the same opportunities to achieve. Thats what I believe the Declaration of Independence says. Just because we are created equal does not mean we are "equal" and that is what the left fails to understand.

  • So, Cenk read the complete statement of which Prager only said half.... and Cenk is telling half the truth? Your math doesn't seem to work. Besides, I just heard Cenk say exactly what you just did, in fact in this very video. I love how conservatives believe the EXACT opposite of the truth. Accuse Cenk of doing what Prager did, and say Prager did what Cenk did. I have said this for years. The Republican strategy is to say the exact opposite of the truth. And they believe it for some reason.

  • fuck the 14th amendment its complete bullshit

  • @imperiallion You kiss your children with that mouth?

  • Typical Marxist propagandizing. Taking his statement totally out of context it make a conservative look bad. You do campaign adds for Alan Grayson and Jack Conway too? Or are you just naturally intellectually dishonest

  • @wornmatt How is this out of context. It seems like he played the statement in its entirety. It was not cut off at either end, so why don't you explain how it was taken out of context and how it's Marxist in any way whatsoever. Go ahead. I'll wait.

  • @xJoeEDangerouslyx What were the clips in the middle though? I have heard Dennis Prager state categorically that equality of opportunity does not equate with equality of result. That is the point he makes about the difference between Europe and the US. This guy plays word games and not true videos showing conservative values.

  • @wornmatt wtf is propagandizing your twat.

  • A sad misrepresentation of Prager's statement. CREATED EQUAL, & being TREATED equally before the law is very different from EQUAL outcomes, which this guy clearly supports- despite his denials. Prager never suggested people should not be TREATED equally before the law, or weren't created equally, yet this fellow seems to suggests that he did. Anybody with 1/2oz of courage can call Prager's show ANY DAY, 5 days a week and challenge him LIVE. Dissenters' calls are even taken 1st.

  • A Bizzarre misrepresentation of Prager's statement. CREATED EQUAL is very different from the government MAKING PEOPLE'S RESULTS EQUAL, which this guy obviously supports. Anybody with 1/2oz of courage can call Prager's show ANY DAY, 5 days a week and challenge him. Dissenters' calls are even taken 1st.

  • We are created equal but we will not have equal results. You are misrepresenting him.

  • I'm embarrassed that folks are taken in this mis-characterization of Mr. Prager's views. Great editing job. I hope you find further work in the fantasy/fiction story telling venue.

Anyone who has paid attention to Mr. Prager understands he's talking about outcomes v.s; opportunity.

  • Equality isn't an American value, equal opportunity is. That is to say equal in the beginning, which doesn't hold true necessarily, due to parents having more money to give their children better opportunity than those of the lower classes. But the Left is all about making it an equal outcome for everybody. Equality= Communism. Equal Opportunity = American Value.

  • Equality of opportunity brings up an interesting question about inheritance; should parents be able to leave their money to their children? I think they should but this clearly presents an inequality of opportunity. I think an estate tax is fair but unless you tax 100% of it, this is an inequality of opportunity.

  • The best way to look at his statement is: The traditional American ideology is that we are given equal opportunity, rights and protections, and we all have an equal chance to fail or succeed. The more (left? European? I don't want to throw the wrong word in there) thought towards equality is that people are owed comfort, success, jobs, healthcare, etc. It's the frame of mind that feels that government owes these things equally to all of its citizens. I'm torn somewhere in the middle...

  • Where's the video where the turk invites Prager to defend his comments?

  • abraham lincoln was a republican dumbass. the democratic party was the slavery party. the first black senators, reprasentatives, and governers were all republicans. the liberals are the ones who are elitest and truely do not believe in equality

  • funny how this douchebag leaves out the comment prager made "we are equal at birth...we are not equal in results..." this cenk douche pulled an alan grayson

  • Prager IS talking about the liberal dream of equaility-of-outcomes. Of COURSE conservatives want equality of opportunity, and equality in the eyes of the law, equal justice for all, equal treatment by the government, etc.

Cenk Uyugur oh-so-cleverly preempts the conservative replies here by insisting that "OF COURSE Democrats don't expect equality of outcomes" (methinks thou doth protest too much), but that REALLY is what libs want. They judge equality of opportunities by measuring outcomes.

  • You are a fool Turk.....We are 'created' equal....I am a forty five year old man and am not equal to a twenty year old, nor am I 'equal' to a woman...you take Prager out of context by giving a sound bite one minute long and do not allow him to make his point. Do yourself a favor and invest some time into understanding Prager, instead of exposing yourself as a fool....

  • @briankraner You must be one of those retarded Republicans that does everything your corporate masters tell you to. Am I right?

  • 1. Declaration of Independence is not the founding document of the nation - Constitution does not stress equality nearly as much.

    2. Amendment #14 is an amendment (aka added on much later)- the original Founders were not in favor of equality (most owned slaves)

    3. What Prager is saying is that Americans believe in Equal Opportunity--not Equal Outcome. Equal Opportunity means an apple costs $1 no matter who you are. Equal Outcome is handing out free apples to all.

  • @larrysg1

    1. The Declaration of Independence and the bill of right ARE part of the constitution

    2. Most of the original founders wrestled with slavery and wanted to abolish it. (See wiki)

    3. Every one can go to collage, not every one can graduate!

  • @kmikesell

    1. The Bill of Rights does not preach equality - it outlines 10 rights Government cannot withhold from its citizens. The D.o.I., with its "All Men are Created Equal" statement is not found in the Constitution.

    2. Yes, many did want to abolish it, however, they realized that it was necessary for the development of America (think: why did they not abolish it? They realized it was necessary). The 14th Amendment is NOT part of the original Constitution - that is the point.

  • @larrysg1 the B.O.R. + D.O.I + Constitution ARE the Constitution. The 14 is an AMENDMENT to the constitution. You must have gone to graduate school.

  • @kmikesell

In fact, it's a common misconception that the D.o.I. is part of the Constitution. Just check the Constitution on its official website - you won't find any D.o.I. there - in fact, the ONLY mention of equality in terms of that between humans is in the 14th Amendment, which was not a part of the original Constitution. Equality between humans is not part of the original plan for America - it was added decades later. Face the facts, my friend.

  • @larrysg1 I stand partially corrected. While doing some homework, I found this. "The constitutional and legal status of the Declaration of Independence is curiously ambiguous. John Hancock (in his capacity as president of the Second Continental Congress) and James Madison both considered it to be, in Madison's words, “the fundamental Act of Union of these States.”

  • @larrysg1 ""The Supreme Court has infrequently accorded it binding legal force, for example, in resolving questions of alienage (Inglis v. Trustees of Sailor's Snug Harbour, 1830). Yet lawyers generally, and the Supreme Court in particular, have been reluctant to treat the Declaration as part of American organic law, or even to accord it the restricted status of the Preamble to the Constitution.

  • @larrysg1 Conservatives like Daniel Webster denied that there is a constitutionally recognized right of revolution, and those state supreme courts that have addressed the issue in the twentieth century have adopted Webster's view. Reformers, such as antebellum abolitionists, insisted that the Declaration was part of the constitutional order, while their opponents, including John C. Calhoun, denigrated its authority and validity

  • @larrysg1 The adoption of the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments allayed the urgency of that question by incorporating concepts of equality, freedom, and citizenship into the operative constitutional text. --- I apologize for being strident in my defense, Although not "officially" part of the Constitution, it does, in some cases, hold the weight of law.

  • @kmikesell

I stand corrected that the D.o.I. is not part of the legal framework of country - it was, as you say, a document that transiently unified a divided conglomerate of colonies. If you adopt an Aristotelian view on nations, then a nation "changes" when its Constitution does. So, America has drifted away from her pure form ever since the first post-Bill of Rights amendment was passed, including the 14th one. America was not founded on equality, so it is not a purely American value.

  • @kmikesell

However, here I agree with you - I will admit that it does hold the weight of law, though only in the sense that it forms the basis for a Moral Law, and not a Political Law. However, America's founding document, the Constitution includes Political Law at the expense of Moral Laws. Now a debate about equality itself is too much for this video forum - whether or not equality is moral (there are so many "types" of equality, where do we begin?!) is entirely another question.

  • Americans value personal responcibility, not collective rights. We the Tea Party aee sick of European socialism. We fought the Revolutionary War to not be the UK. George Washington did not cross the Delaware River for "equality" or socialist ambitions.

  • @ToxicOdiousOne

    Read the 14th Amendment

  • Cenk the founders did not write the 14th amendment. Communist progressive infiltrators did. We are not a socialist country. The US is not the former Soviet Union. We do not accept Soviet values. We are Americans. America is exceptional. We are not just another country.

  • @ToxicOdiousOne

I think the rest of the world would like to disagree. Typical of Americans to claim to be exceptional. Exceptionally dumb, exceptionally arrogant and exceptionally fat.

  • @INatalkaI I guess you proved all three!

  • Equality is a Soviet value. Personal responcibility is an American value. We are personally responcible to and for only ourselves and never others.

  • So why all of a sudden is Americas values the values of the Demarcates and not the republicans?

  • @goofyskittles

Well, based on the video shown on this clip, it's apparent many republicans do not like how america was ment to be a nation for all. The constitution and bll of rights clearly state that all men and women are to have the same rights no matter what. Abraham Lincon expressed this same sentiment when he gave the Gettysburg Address. This was further argued during the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s and is now once again being brought up today.

  • @NUTCASE71733 settle down there Buster Keaton

  • @goofyskittles

Sorry, trying to help with facts is too ingrained in my subconcious. This is basic grade school stuff after all.

  • thats ok Mr. nutcase , i forgive you

  • This Poster is an idiot and disingenuous. What Dennis Prager has said (many times) and this poster ignored is that America is a land where we are "Created Equal" not a land where outcomes must be equal. All men are equal at birth, we do not need an equal number of races, sexes, sexualities in University, on a job site, on the court system or even in prison! The Left and this ignorant poster would debate this....and lose.

  • @IronAltar

Obviously outcomes aren't guaranteed to be equal, but everybody has the same equal rights under the law.

  • Why does this young Turk lie? Dennis Prager is talking about equality of

outcome . Dennis Prager has always stated that we are all equal

in value. What this hosts states won't fly.

  • @Mr12danny Well..... not the date. This was almost 2 years ago. I'm not sure of what happened AFTER this, but $20 says they bombarded him with criticism and is now
