@AkhenatenReborn I honestly record my own songs. But I have a piece of crap recorder. its just a free online program. The solo does sound pretty crazy haha. In all honesty, dusk dismantled solo sounds alot like the shogun album solos. you said "our" studio. you in a band then?

You can get a really good recording done with the mic on a webcam or whatever, you just need to make sure you try it out a few times first to get the levels right. I try to keep the song and my guitar at an equal level, but quieter on both, so that people can make out all the different picking patterns and thing.

I might have to end up paying for it. its like 30 bucks. you should try it out. I dont have anything that will let me Loop, or layer, so gotta get em all in one take lol Ill check out your band dude

@MyShinyHeartagram I actually set it that low on purpose, I feel that being able to hear the pick hitting the strings helps to figure out the different picking rhythms and things. It's harder to make out when you watch a vide with just a wall of noise because the guy thinks it's a good idea to turn his Marshall up to 11.

It usually ends up mostly the same, but I change a few things that are wrong and also play things in better positions. Personally I have a hard time figuring stuff out with nothing to go on, and have horrible visual learning so watching fingers is impossible.

There are some things that I've played for years a certain way, and then realised after 3 years or so that there's a much easier way of playing them. I never look for the easiest way to play a riff, I tend to stick with the first way that I figure it out.

I would say, at a guess, that this song for the most part (if not all of it) is in Db minor. Therefore it would make sense to say this song is in drop Db, not C#. My theory is rough though, I forgot most of it the moment I left college years ago, so I could be wrong.
