The BBC have not yet commissioned another series but the Fags, Lads and Kebabs sets the scene that the story is not yet over so most likely there will be another series.

No one knows if there is a 9th But there is gonna be 2 special eps at the end of this year or start of next and that should open a new story line or shut it for good ( just have to wait and see )

Very glad they didn't go that route though after watching it though, nowhere near as emotional and heartfelt as this one, and makes it obvious that Janet/Gaz was always only about Corinthian. I imagine that would have been disappointing even for people hoping Gaz would choose her!
