I think that the reason that Tavis is harder on Obama because he is Black. I can understand where he is coming from on some level. To be a Black man, Barack Obama is definitely not looking out for the interest of the Black people. Not only is he not tackling the issues facing Blacks, but he seems to be looking out only for the most affluent of Americans, leaving the majority of the country to fend for themselves.
I hate this idea/notion that is perpetrated throughout American culture, that says the black agenda is the black agenda. It only encompass their own people, their own rights. Bullshit, the black agenda is the American agenda, it actually is a human agenda, because persecuted is always right. To quote the bible, as an atheist, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." The persecuted are right because they seek righteousness.
YOU JUST CAN'T TELL PEOPLE TO STEP IT UP YOU HAVE TO BRING CONCRETE SOLUTIONS WHICH THE FIRST THING IS EDUCATION ON FUNDAMENTAL LEVEL AND MOST IMPORTANTLY FOR THOSE WHO CAN RISE TO THE OCCASION A ESOTERIC LEVEL BECAUSE IT IS SOME MUCH MORE THAN YOU CAN SEE !!!!
I agree.Tavis has some kind of vendetta against President Obama. We still have to be critical and challenge the Mr. Obama but Tavis does it out of a more personal kind of agenda.
@rgrove319 I don't see the personal issue. I think we have to hold every president equally accountable. We should expect as much of any president as it takes to get the job of justice and well being completely done.
Please! If anything they are telling us as black people to step it up one person can't promote change into affect. Especially when his actions are being governed by a white base. Your ignorance is a good example of why our people are so lost and unable to comprehend ethic! Smh!
After 10 years Tavis and these same old talking heads telling us to step up, get an education, be someone. And when we have someone in the most powerful position in the world, they come together to ridicule him. Did Tavis do this with Bush or Clinton? No. If Hillary were the President would Tavis be doing this? No. Its no secret Tavis doesn't like Obama. I used to really like & respect him. He has no credibility with me now. He's why I don't listen to the TJMS anymore.
Francis Cress Welsing should have been at that meeting.
